There is a new poll for you to vote in :)

Note: This post is for constructive criticism. That means tell us what is wrong with the pet, in your opinion. Personal attacks on the staff, or the artist responsible ('this fails', 'you suck as an artist', 'why did this get polled?!') will result in being banned from comments, and probably a warning :(. Be nice!

the new one is good but i dont know it needs to be less skinny lol i dont know when i think squirrel i think chubby like the old one i like the red line one better

I like how everyone is 'voting' for a redline, rather than the new or old. =/

Though I don't see a problem with the redlines, if the artist takes issue it's their right to stop people from drawing all over their hard work. Redlines are good, really, but people. Be respectful.

All that aside, I agree and disagree with many comments and parts of this revamp. I don't want to repeat anyone, but I will say that I like ET's redline, though the revamp is just fine on its own. ^^ Good job.

i have to agree with most of the comments ive seen about the muzzle for sure but the thing that gets me more is that most subeta pets have a wonderful angle/pose that shows off their character where i find this just doesnt say anything about the torrey, and i agree with forgot username that it should be more sqirrelly

I actually, for the first time on a revamp poll had to stop and think about which one But the amazing details and shading drew me in I hope the artist will be able to please as many people as possible (which is cerainly hard) and not get stones thrown at them

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

The new one's pretty, but there's something off with the face and wings. I don't know, the color of the wings just don't go. . . And the face looks awkward. Also, I very much prefer green eyes.

the fur and the shading are so pretty, but i really don't like the overall look. it goes just a little too far with the super-deformed and comes across as creepy instead of cute. if you could merge the charisma of the old one with the prettiness of the new one, it would be perfect.

Looking at this revamp makes me smile. I know people are being nit-picky about the face but honestly? I think it's a vast improvement. I'm probably one of the few who loves the face. Yes, it's different but it has more of rodent/squirrel look about it. And I agree with earlier comments that its body is muppet lilke which = I really can't wait until this new revamp takes place. Great Job!

Eh... it's really good, except for the face. The face is a bit... err... I dont know how to describe it. It just doesn't look right.

It's a hundred thousand times better than the last one, but like many other people, I really think that the face should be different. I appreciate the eyes, but the snout is kind of unnaturally pointed in my opinion. I think the general body structure should be a bit chunkier, especially the legs. ET's redline is pretty accurate as to what I'm talking about. I'm loving the wings, too, the colors are unexpected but they work well. I think the tail could stand to be less puffy, it feels kind of awkward to me. But this pet is a massively huge step up from the old one, so I'll gladly vote new.

oh please dont sorry for offense but i think its kinda ugly it doesnt ook like a pet anymore... the shoulders are to much the face is too slim,it stands like a human and the colour of the wings...... ahh sorry but i have to say 0 points from me

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I agree with many of the commenters on some slight changes I'd prefer to see.

I really like ET's version that's been posted in the comments if it's going to be something similar to this revamp. Though I have to agree with some of the others that it seems too chibi for a standard Torrey (it's mainly the eyes that do that, to me).

The main things that bother me are the eyes, snout, wings, and build (too thin).

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Adonai

the color used for the wings is odd. The color chang ei don't think is a nice change at all. Also the expression and feet, something about them looks a little off. A different pose would be nice ^^

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

BEAUTIFUL! but please, do something with the wings they really ruin the whole thing. maybe make them bigger? more elaborate? idk they are puny and really take a lot away from it as they are in the new

Omg holy crap the shading is beautiful, it really captures fur o.o I mean, for a cartoon basically, rather than realistic, its BEAUTIFUL! I voted new if only because the artwork is OMGBEAUTIFULAWESOME...

Sorry for that, I couldn't find a better way to sum that up.

I really like ETs redline, I think the reason why is the Eyes, Toe lines, and muzzle. Those were the things that really bothered me to begin with and I didnt see what was wrong until I saw that redline..

I'm curious why all the colors were changed? I really think the old colors were nice..

I also agree with most of the users.. the wings almost look like they were taped on. Theres no rule saying they HAVE to match but they look like big black blobs on my screen.

I can't wait to see how this pet turns out!

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

My redline >w< Mostly changed the face: -smaller ears -smaller eyes -shorter snout -shorter cheak hair

I tried to make it closer to the Galactic Torrey C:

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Kage
User Avatar

I'd like to say first-off that I love the new shading and the wing lineart. Incredible talent and skill made this torrey look good. I wonder, though, why it is so different from the Galactic Torrey? That looks like a revamp compared to all of the rest of the colors, so why not follow the already used guidelines in that pet color? (which by the way is ADORABLE and the single reason I made Homonym a torrey in the first place. UNBOUNDED LOVE to whoever drew that one.) I believe the best way to describe what I thought when I first saw this revamp is that the snout seems a little bit too strongly defined. It doesn't blend into the face the way I would like to see it, and doesn't match the Galactic very well. I think as an artist, hearing it this way would help me know how to tweak it better than hearing "it's too long" or "it's too narrow." I really don't think it's too long - any shorter and it might as well be a cat. Just needs to be de-emphasized a little. I also noticed that the smile on this torrey is a lot wider than on the galactic one, and it makes it look like it was drawn by a different artist (plz don't brick me if it was, I don't really know.) It also makes it look like it could easily fit its mouth around my entire arm if it wanted to .-. I also really don't think the shape of the eyes need to be changed at all if the muzzle is fixed up. I like the eyes just the way they are.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

don't make it fatter.

lanky is beautiful!

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

It looks so much better! beyond belief.

I have to agree with most of the snout comments. it does seem just a tad too long.

I think you should change the eyes to green like the original.,

and the colour of the wings, just seem too fake, or unattached.

the feet are absolutely gorgeous.

and so is you shading.

its amazing. keep it up. =)

i have some additional comments to add to "new art - old pose" (though i still stick to the idea that just standing there is too static). i do think it makes no sense that the wings are a totally different color from the body. the way the wings are drawn is very cute, but the color mis-match just seems too different. now my disagreements with other people's comments: i don't understand the complaints that the snout is too long - its adorable. also the decision to not give it toes must have been thought about and decided upon - the thing doesn't have toes - i say great. and the redlines that everyone is voting for so heavily is too generic and disney (its very nicely drawn - i mean no offense to the artist). and i think that's what's wrong with most of the edits people are submitting, i feel like they are trying to make it look more like what they would except and/or more like a real animal.

Ok, first off - Thank you for revamping the torrey. The new one is quite good, but it has a very different feel. Now, I'll try to make this short cause I know there are a ton of comments already XD;

What's GOOD : -Eye shape and size - Really, I think this is fine! (see my P.S.)

 • Stubby, Finger-less arms - its cute and its like the old version. -The shading <3

P.S.-(as an artist i know eyes may be annoying to change. But I think a light green color would look better...it gave a nice bright 'pop' before and I think it'd be relatively easy to change instead of the shape. Maybe if you change the eye color it could make up for the new eye shape that people aren't used to yet. )

What could make it BETTER: -Adding toes

 • Making the snout shorter -Fleshing out the legs a little, like in ET's version...which you probably have heard of by now XD

That's all I think should be done, if possible. Anyways, thanks again, and you did a great job <3

Yes, yes! I think this version is perfect, Adding more bulk to the body makes it seemed much more praportioned and the smaller eyes and wider snout look great to. It looks great now, but I think it should look a little more like ETs version.

I didn't want to say it, but I agree. It looks very Grinch like. Maybe not the Grinch persay, but that same "Who" style. The feet is what is doing it.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

looks like the Grinch? lol...that is the funniest thing i have heard...it so does not...like omg...i wanna actually adopt a Torrey if it looks like this new one 'cause i love the new look...but as i have noticed is like with the vote of the revamp of the Hikei is that when you go to adopt a new pet is that the old look of Hikei is still there even though there was a resounding want for the new Hikei look...so does the new look even go into effect?

I think the art is amazing but i agree with what most users are saying abour the face looking a little off and the feet looking too grinch-like. The redline done by ET I think outlines the basic changes that should be taken into consideration. There is also something bugging me about the right wing (our right). It looks as though its coming off of the arm and might look better if pushed to the left a little bit, to make it look like its coming out of the back.

Damn look at all those comments.. Anyways...I'm not an artist, but I think that it is good, but it does need some tweaking.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I agree with many of the re-draws, it needs to look more rounded and softer, and the shoulders need to be more rounded, they stick out like a sore thumb. And the muzzle needs to be larger and rounder.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by turbotoad

I like it, and I like the wing colour, but I don't really care for the feet. Maybe some toe-lines would do it well? They look.... grinch-y to me. And the pose is a little stiff. Maybe more... wiggly?

Posatively lovely colouring shading and whatnot, though.

I'm not an artist, so what I say might not count, but the tail looks just too big, the feet look off somehow (the way they're positioned), the color change on the wings doesn't suit the new Torrey, and the snout does look too narrow.

The art itself it lovely - nice choice of colors and wonderful shading. It's just that the design doesn't suit it, for whatever reason. 0.0 For once, I'm not too thrilled about the revamp for this species. . .

I like the new one far better than i liked the old one, but i think the body and muzzle is to thin- it looks starved and.. evil, it would look cuter and more love-able if it became a tad chubbier and got a thicker muzzle >. > but i still think this one is way better than the old one.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

The way I see it, the revamp is...okay. I mean, it looks nice with the added shadows, the fixed wings, et cetera. But it definitely could use some fixing...

For instance, the original Torrey looks...happy, but not in-your-face happy. It looks somewhat reserved (maybe not the right word) or distant. This one looks a bit too happy for the Torrey...that might be what looks wrong with it to me.

It definitely could use some toes on the back feet (like in Exterior's slight tweaking). It rather resembles something from The Grinch Stole Christmas. Also, the neck looks a wee bit too thin, and the eyes are almost TOO big!

Other than that, it looks lovely. Have to say, though, that I did vote for the old one. It looks...more possible. Sorry!

I voted new, however there are a couple things that seem off to me --- well, the eyes and the muzzle/snout. They don't seem proportioned to each other right. Maybe smaller eyes and a larger muzzle? I dunno. Also, the original has lovely green eyes that go well with the brown fur. And last thing is the way the feet come to a sharp point in the back. I'm going to go against the majority though and say, I like the Dr. Seuss-y feet. -shrug- Anyway, good job, very nice.

I'd vote for ET's redline... But since that's not an option, I'm voting for the old. I've been saying that the Torrey needs a revamp for the LONGEST time, but this isn't what I had in mind at all... The head looks more like a Popoko than a Torrey to me, and the eye color change from green to blue only seems to remind me of the Popoko even more. The purple and black wings, while they'd be fantastic on a Twilight or Dark Matter, just contrast too much with a brown pet. Of course, I guess the coloring doesn't matter, since other colors of Torrey will be different, but still. It just looks... Off. The muzzle needs to be bigger, the pet should be chubbier like the original, the foot on the right (the Torrey's left) should be a little bigger, the tail could stand to be moved up a bit (I actually don't mind the size of it), and the wings could stand to be moved a little and have their color changed to be cream or match the eyes (if the wings matched the eyes, I wouldn't mind the eyes being blue or even purple).
