I liked the old wings and eyes better, along with the old pose... though I do like the new paint job better. The new one just looks a little stiff, unnatural...

awww someone exactly draw what i meant who ever did this is just awesome i'm also voting for this one

but using the old eyecolor and the wingcolor of the chibi torrey i really love that the nose isn't that long and thin anymore and all in all this looks a bit healthier. i'd be really happy with outlines like these!

by the way: will the special colored ones like chibi, angelic and such be remade as well?

The shading is nice but i'm not too keen on the colour change of the wings. It also looks a bit too skinny for my liking...

I have to say...I do like the new shading and such, nice and updated. I dislike the eye color change, as well as the wings.. And it looks too skinny. Sorry I can't be helpful...

Um i really like the original... and so the colour of the eyes and wings are not exactly my favorite thing in the world... aldo the new one is so defined and scrwany the charm of these pets is sortta how they are fluffy and not elegant but adorable. the wings on the new one really bother me! personally i think ET's red line way in the comments is more fluffy, loveable, and generally more what i personally like about the pets so please try to take that into consideration!

and i agree(sorry for repost) chill with the redlines-i mean, im pretty sure the artist gets it by now. and to the person going on about how our critisim is limited-no it isnt. this was put here to make comments on the ART WORK not the artist! there is a difference. seriously,just because you may be an artsit doesnt mean you can bash someone else. damn people , get ahold of yourselves. im wondering when the adults of this site plan on commenting-cuz most of the ones here are from 5 year olds...

I think the new style is definitely improved, but the old posture and expression was much better. The new face in particular was much more... real-looking, whereas this one seems overly chibi, with a tiiiiiny mouth and large eyes. The blue in the eyes seems a little out of place, at least more than the green did. The ears, also, seem curly rather than pointy like they were before. I would make them more cat-like and less dog-like.

But that's just my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

i think the revamp has done wonders! i think it looks great! i wasnt a big fan of the blue eyes myself at first,but the more i look the better they suit. i think it it proportioned right myself. his face is quite fuzzy, so it makes sence. i like it-i say go for it!!!!!!!!

I think it doesn't have quite as much character as the old one. It looks too... upright. This is one of the pets that should be cartoony and unrealistic because it just suits them. Also, it needs green eyes.

Since my post is rather TL;DR, my basic point is this: just because we know the artist does not mean we should change how we critique, because it's not pointed at the artist personally, just the art.

Also agree with Sunnie on the red line thing. We are not saying any thing to disrespect the artist we just giving are opinion on the art.

i have to say that overall i am a fan of the proposed redraw...the only thing that i would like to see changed, if possible, would be the width of the muzzle...if it were slightly wider i believe it would compliment the rest of the facial dimensions better...the detailing of the new eyes and wings really help to bring the torrey to life and i can't fault the colours used...i like seeing splashes of unexpected colour as it brightens up a predominately brown pet and gives it a uniqueness of its own...it gets a big thumbs up from me...

I don't see the deal with redlines either - they're the same exact critiques, just in visual form. If anything, it's BETTER than written critiques because the artist can actually see and get an idea of what the user is talking about. This poll is obviously asking for critiques - if it wasn't, then you wouldn't even bother for user opinions - and seeing as you have professional artists here, they should be able to handle whatever the users dish out.

Yes, the artists are nice people and we love them, and we damn well should for all the work they do here. I have the utmost respect for Subeta artists, what with all the work they do and how most of them still find the time to interact with the rest of the community. However, users shouldn't have to stop critiquing and start giving out loads of praise and hugs to a piece of art just because we know the person who drew it. Look at Neopets - most people don't hesitate to bash the new art there, and the site lets them. None of the artists come down into the forums and start telling the users to quit hating on the art because it hurts their feelings, and that's because they're professional about it. Obviously, Subeta has much more of a community feel than Neopets ever did, but that doesn't change the fact that the artists here are professionals, and that we shouldn't have to stop voicing our opinions because of hurt feelings. I know it can be painful to get harsh critiques on something, especially if you worked hard on it, but they're only offered to make it better. Very few of these comments are targeted at the artist myself - I haven't read all of them, but I have yet to see one (in this one at least) that is pointed at her and not the Torrey. If lots of people are being harsh about it, then that's a sign that lots of people are displeased about it and that it needs to be changed, not that they hate the artist who drew it.

I don't see these redlines as malicious at ALL. It's simply showing the artist what they need to change so that it pleases the community all around. If they're all over the pet in all of them, then well, that's simply a sign that the pet really needs to be changed so that everyone is happy. Don't you guys still do redlines for each other's pets before you decide to release them? What makes these critiques different than the ones you recieve by your fellow artists (unless you all just sugarcoat everything because you're all friends, which I've seen happen in art communities)? It's the same thing. Besides, some people are going to hate this picture no matter what. But that doesn't matter, because the artist shouldn't let these comments get to them personally. After all, they're commenting on the ART, not the PERSON.

I'm finding myself in agreement with just about everyone. The muzzle is on the small side. And the wings are cute purple, but they don't seem to fit (I saw a few with the purple eyes which helped it, and then the ones with green eyes and brown wings looked good too). I also think the legs could be a little fuller (they just look a little scrawny now for some reason) and the feet could use a little more detail. The furriness is ok and cute, I just think they look a little too Dr. Seusse at the moment (kind of like the Grinch's feet). Keep most of the furry and add a little more detail and it'll be good to go.

Ok, now I am here to throw my two cents in. Like many people have said, the snout is a little small. I wouldn't have cared really unless people didn't start edited images that looked cuter with the snout fixed. Some people have been posting edits with purple eyes. I love them because they match the wings nicely and they are cute! Also they could be shrunk a little bit. The pose is a little strange, but it isn't that bad If time permits, or for future revamps, it could be a little slumped. All in all, I loved it as a whole. If the eyes were purple I might be tempted to get a Torrey.

I really like the new version, but I can't help thinking that it's legs looks kinda weird, maybe if you could change the position of legs then it would be great. Also I i don't really like the color of the wings. It doesn't really go with the eye color. I think either the eyes or the wings colors should be changes.

but anyways, I think it's really great that your making a new version, and it looks really nice.

I don't see why everyone feels the need to keep posting the redlines they like. It's not really nice to do that to a picture that an artist worked hard on. And by posting the same one a hundred times isn't going to change anything. I know i would hate to see that happen to one of my drawings. And I believe that Tche said to stop posting redlines here, and since she is a user admin i would listen to her

Wow, I guess I'm one of the few that love the wing color. XD I think that MAROON matches that brown just fine. :3 And the blue eyes match the brown. But the blue, brown, and maroon TOGETHER seem a teeny bit off. Maybe make the eyes maroon or some other color that matches?

the colour choices don't seem perfect for the wings and eyes, but... even though they don't seem to match well altogether, i reeeaalllyy like how they turned out and i can't really think of a colour better for them than the ones picked. =)

Hmm... I like the redline that's been posted throughout the comments. I think the head overall is fine. It's just the snout seems to small for the eyes and a little oddly shaped. The arms and feet bother me most though. It's too Dr. Seuss. The feet would be nicer with defined toes. I do like the wing design. I just hope the wing colors correspond better with other colors. I see no real reason to mention the color on a common one. No one ever gets common pets. XD

I hope the artists don't feel insulted by Redlines. It's just easier to show than to describe what's wrong.

Looks great! If I were to touch anything up, though, I wouldn't make the lines of the mussel reach so far up, almost jutting right into the eye. The pose is a little plain as well, but I think we could live with it.

Personally, I think the new design looks a little stiff. I mean, it's just standing there. Feet apart, arms by it's side, facing forward, slight smile. Not much emotion there - it doesn't imply anything in the way of character, except maybe surprise (generally, the only time you can see the entire iris is when the eyes are especially wide). That's not to say it needs to be in an especially dynamic pose, it doesn't have to be doing handstands or anything, but at least the old design had a little bit of movement about it.

Really like the redline that ET did. Still not liking the general pose of the Torrey, though, but that redline was a great improvement.
