I've heard from a friend that she got this response to a ticket about missing items from the Gifts You've Given list due to the tree/stocking glitch

Please, Please, fix this glitch before opening the trees. Those of us who receive gifts under our tree will want to know who to thank, and those of us who placed gifts under the tree chose to place them there rather than send them anonymously through the Gift Center, and our choice not to give these gifts anonymously should be respected.

There are lots of valid reasons for wanting to give a present, including: appreciation, gratitude, surprise, apology, or rekindling an old friendship -- and not all of them are well-served if the identity of the giver is mangled.

I'd rather my friends get gifts anonymously than not at all, but I agree, optimally they would just function normally.

Hopefully they kept their events from the glitch and will know from that who sent what. =/

Yeah it'd be pretty crappy if people didn't know who sent gifts to them. True, better anonymous than nothing at all, but it's not the way people wanted it if they didn't choose to be anonymous.

While I am happy the items are still going to be given out I am very unhappy about the rest of the "solution." Our friends will be left thinking we did not care enough about them to gift them. If we say hey, those were from me, then we look like we are trying to brag or worse. And not know who to thank just makes me queasy.

Not only did I not save my events, I tried desperately not to even read any of them so as not to spoil the surprises.

This is one thing I have to agree on. Please show who gave what. I gave out a lot of things and would like them to know what I gave them. I don't care if it takes an extra week just please make sure it shows.

Georgie I did not have any events like the news said so I do not know what is happening.

We can only hope that the gifts under all our trees lets us know who gave what or the friends who gave us gifts will think we are ignoring them if we do not say thanks to them

Everything worked just fine last year. What happened? And why is the old script for the stockings (which haven't existed in 3 years) still on the site?

Please, please tell me that Subeta is not a cake. I'm picturing the oldest site, then newer ones layered on top instead of cleaning the plate. Yuck. Well, it's easier to understand where never-ending lag and glitches come from if that's so.

This would be a ok solution to the problem but i sent out a lot of gifts to a lot of friends and non-friends i think they should know who gave them what so they can thank that friend personally ... i dont really want thanked for the gift i just want my friends to receive what i sent and enjoy the item that they have received

This makes me sad :( I didn't save my events either and really tried not to look at names for the same reasons you listed. And now I don't want to seem like a snob and not thank someone for a gift because I had NO idea they sent it to me!

Depends on how long it's going to take to fix.

If it is a matter of days, sure. But, if I have two weeks more to wait for my literal-e-christmas gifts, I'm not sure I will be this happy.

This is a super bummer. I do admit that the amount that I gifted went down substantially after the glitch. It's a concern. I'd rather my people get a gift than nothing at all. But I'd really rather they know it was from me.

Still... I'm getting pretty impatient for the trees to open.

It would be really nice to get another staff update (even if the trees aren't ready yet) just so we're not trying to piece together second-hand bits of information from ticket replies.

I gifted 118 people i sure do want them to know where the gifts came from...i too have no events so all i can say is i hope it all opens as per normal...if it takes a little longer it's fine,just like it all work right if possible.We estimate you've spent about 190,073,087 on presents this year!

Just curious for everyone posting here - have you checked your Gifts Given page to see if anyone is actually missing from yours?

I read this topic, checked my page, checked my list that I made because I feared that page would poof when trees dropped (before any of the glitches, it was my own way to keep track) and I have literally nobody missing who is on my personal list. It matches up perfectly.

I'd say request a screenshot of this "ticket response" before getting worked up over it.

- can you confirm if this is or is not an actual issue?
