The problem is that only some people were affected by the glitch (I came home to over 300 gifts in my inventory which I had to sort from stuff already in there and then delete). If you gave to one of those affected, they are gone from your gifts given list. I do believe that those NOT affected will get their gifts normally and will know who sent them; however, those who were affected aren't going to know who sent their gifts. I was one of the ones affected as were several of my friends and because of the gifts given list, we didn't keep a "hard copy" of what we sent, so the whole thing is just a mess.

What was the question?
While I am happy the items are still going to be given out I am very unhappy about the rest of the "solution." Our friends will be left thinking we did not care enough about them to gift them. If we say hey, those were from me, then we look like we are trying to brag or worse. And not know who to thank just makes me queasy.
^ exactly. Adding my agreement to this.
I set out a lot of (frequently expensive) gifts and RECEIVED a lot of (frequently expensive) gifts. I would rather like my friends to know who got what from me, and I would like to know who to thank for my gifts as well.
This is ridiculous, honestly.
I think a staff update on the situation would be good.
As far as the resolution goes, the sooner the better. I haven't given out any new gifts since the glitch, for fear they'll glitch out into the ether. I'd rather just send friends something and not put it under the tree if those gifts simply disappear or are given anonymously. Until it's resolved, I'm in a holding pattern with regard to giving anything more.
Seven people are missing from my list.
I believe in my friend's honesty and would never insult her by demanding such proof. You are, of course, free to believe whatever you want, but I'm not going to follow through with your suggestion.
Oh jeez, I spent a lot of time, effort, and currency on gifts this year. I would very much prefer that my friends and non-friends know what I sent to them :/
I mostly just wish staff would give an update about what's happening. I'm really happy with the compensation we got, between the free CSC and GA Medal and the extra quests and whatever "extra gifts" was supposed to mean, but it's been three days since trees were supposed to open. Is the problem being worked on?? Why did the whole thing happen?
BUT I can see how this would be annoying. I'm kind of hoping it won't affect me/my gifts given since no one seems to be missing from my page but in the end I agree with . A COMPLETE fix would be nice for those who are affected, unless it takes weeks for that to happen. Personally I'd rather trees be opened before 2016. (I apologize if that, or any of my post, sounds snarky. I don't mean anything that way!)
[edit]
Annnd it turns out I am actually affected. I'm missing one person from my list.
I am missing from ALL my friends lists and at least 5 friends are missing from my gifts given list. would NOT post her ticket response if it were not true!
And in general I need to say that is was nice of Subeta to give the apology gifts that they did, but all those (the great majority) not affected have only had to deal with the wait, while those who were affected had to deal with the mess.

What was the question?
You don't have to, its a suggestion for everyone else who doesn't know you or her and who possibly does not have this issue.
Also, I've had staff tell me one thing once and then do something totally different because the person who responded was not the person actually responsible for fixing said problem. Generally they have to wait on programmers to have a solution before they have any answers, so having one staff member say that while trees still aren't fixed is not necessarily a reflection of what will actually happen once they sort it out.
Unnecessarily worrying about it before staff has even announced a solution/drop date is not going to help anyone either.
I guess I just don't care if my friends know what I got them. If they want to know, they can ask me and I can tell them. I'd rather this just get fixed the best they can in as little of time possible. Who knows if it's an easy fix to add back the names. Sure if it's a quick fix do it, but if it isn't, I think we can all manage.
Yes, I'm missing 12 people. Just because it didn't happen to you doesn't mean it didn't happen to many, many people.
Why was the stocking script still running? We haven't had them for 3 years, and the trees worked fine last year.
I feel sorry for staff having to work the holidays on this glitch and really think if they could/can get it where it is suppose to be..if at all possible I think they would. If impossible I still say it is a nice holiday and am very glad the presents given and received weren't totally lost. At least my friends will get what I got them whether they know it was from me or not.
will wait official word
Yeah, I'd like to know WTF happened this year that was different than last year. Why was the script running that was years old? We were told that trees would take a while to open on Christmas day because there needed to be a programmer online to make sure things went smoothly. So much for that.
I was in the group who had to delete items and I did it as quickly as possible via a shop while trying my best not to look at what I'd gotten or who gave it. If we really don't get that information back that is beyond ridiculous.
This is seriously one of the biggest fuck ups Subeta has ever made and half fixing it only exacerbates it.
Honestly, I just want an update on what's going on and/or to open my tree already. It'd be nice to know the names, but if it's a huge fix, waiting another week or two just to open our pixel gifts is kind of ridiculous to me.

I am not going to out the staff member who is dealing with my ticket but here is your proof:

Yes, I did check my gifts given page. That was where I first realized something had gone even more wrong than the stocking events. :/
EDIT: apparently my tags are not working...http://i65.tinypic.com/2mfzztw.jpg
Its almost Tuesday, and I thought the trees would've opened by now.I don't like the fact that because of this glitch,I won't be able to thank the people who gifted me.And why aren't they updating us on what is going on?I would like to get a general idea when the trees will most likely open.
Like a good neighbor, stay over there!

Hmmmm.... I never understood the problem in the first place just knew there was a delay. Gave me more time to tuck random gifts under random trees. I gave out so many to people I don't know and to people I barely know that I wouldn't know if they were missing or not. I'd be happy either way as long as everyone gets their gifts. I would like to thank those who gave me gifts and hopefully I will get the chance. But as for those I gifted... it was about the giving to make someone smile and happy.. not about recognition. I do think it's useless to speculate until we get an update from the staff. Until they get it fixed the story may change several times or not. I can't get this children's song out of my head regarding this... ''Why worry, when you can pray.'' Appropriate or not it's going round and round in my brain. Hope y'all had a wonderful Luminaire and Merry Christmas.

I didn't realize it was you who had the ticket (I read the OP not the responses and you weren't named) and I 100% do not believe you'd lie about a response. Also I never meant to imply that the poster/person they were discussing was lying and I apologize that it came across that way, I do see exactly why it did come out that way but I didn't actually mean it like that. Sadly we do have folks who like to stir up trouble where there is no trouble. I still think its good for everyone else to do their due diligence though and check their lists against their memory/other saved lists they may have so they at least know who is missing.
Hopefully the programmers are working on fixing that as well and that's why its taking so long, but I've often seen things get sorted later that were said were going to be one way because they figured out how to fix it. I hope that's the case here but again, we won't know anything definitively until they announce the fix =/
Well, this is a real bummer! It makes me sad but I think what we can do is just say thank you to everyone! 😊 I am not critizing anyone for the fail or their disappointment! All the work in fixing the site, shopping for friends...I know my friends love me and I hope they know I love them. So this is what I will be doing: I will be putting a notice up saying thank you to all, even my missing ones ❤ 💋
Thank you and I hope all goes well...

I did not come on here until after the site came back and I was lucky that all I had was the melody items I got,Keeping fingers crossed we will get to open our trees soon
If no one is missing from your list it's likely because their accounts weren't old enough to be affected. I think their account ID number has to be under 150k..ish(?) to have gotten the glitched events.
I'm glad I only deleted the duplicate events and kept the rest of mine just in case. x:
I guess if things end up happening this way and people really want to know who sent them what, they could create B&C thank you boards and encourage their friends to come forward. Not the most ideal solution, but it might help.
