When we still don't have plushies and beanbags for the cherry and silver pets released in December
When we have no elixirs for these pets, and are told these are "not in the plans"
When we haven't had anything added to the food shops, stickers and weapon shops in ages
When we were told trading cards would be changed "soon", but yet, half of them are trading cards in the old style and half of them are M&M style, making up for zero consistency
When we have a shop revolving around food for an event, yet it has less items than the number of wearables one can buy for 5 steamworks trinkets. And, their price are high and inflated, contributing to artificial difficulty.
When nothing has been added to the Sable Smithy in years
There was a time where artists were asked to stop drawing minions because they were overpowering item releases, and now, it's the same with wearables and it's becoming boring. There is zero excitement in checking news anymore, because there is close to no surprise. The only surprise is knowing where the clothes will be : cash shop, SBQ or token shop.
Yes, the wardrobe is an important part of the site, but it shouldn't make already neglected features even more neglected.
EDIT:
I can't remmber where exactly, but I remembers seeing a staff comment along the lines of lessening the number of restockables released, which is disapointing.
The uneveness is something I had been hoping would change.
I'm a huge wardrobe user and even I agree with this :L
Not only all of that, but the lack of updated achievements as well. I'm still waiting on SubQ achievements to be updated.

Having so many shops who haven't had items added in there in the last 18 months is just saddening. I'm thinking of the Sable Smithy, who hasn't had anything since the steamworks key mold.
Magic Box got the Cherry and Silver potions and some wayward forgotten elixirs and that's pretty much it. One could do so much with that shop, but nope.
Toy Box got the kites and the tricycles and...that's all I recall that's somewhat recent. I'm also counting 13 items added to the Candy Shack in the last 18 months. (Gummy Rings were added in June 2013, to give you an idea)
Yeah, a lot of people use the wardrobe a lot, but do other things too, and that's disturbing. D: I know I made this thread in the past, it fixes itself for a couple months and then, it goes back into being wearableland
Someone said that octopi are important in steampunk culture, and I can understand that, but these tentacles...aren't even a set. For most of them, anyway.
I'm sour over these, ok.
I'm going to add your comment to the first post, if you don't mind. Because you're totally right, and I feel it's important as well.
I really don't do much else at this point haha. I've actually started working on some pet stories and squirreling away future TC items, and WL'ing things as I come across them but if I'm spending sP, it's probably going into my wardrobe :L (Gotta get that fuckin 15k man)
I do collect minions though. And like, I do buy collection items, I focus on plushies but I buy the other ones in the CS because I know I don't want to have to hunt them down later. I'm passively going for 6k gourmand. I gave up training my battlers because it's boring and I might as well just buy the loot I want above T7 instead of training for eternity. Even when I don't need them, food items are pretty~ I like to see different kinds of items even if I don't know I need them. Who knows when I'll want something just to shove in a gallery and look pretty
[edit] Wow I made a wall of text and I said virtually nothing haha go me
I do want to add though, I like the tentacle ribbons even though I'm probably one of like 12 people in that boat :x Like I probably won't use them for just regular HAs or anything, and tbh most of the other tentacle pieces are fugly (those boots, ugh) but the ribbons are nice imo
I don't mind at all. I do agree about the tons of wearables, and I absolutely love wearables. Sometimes it's just too much.

I would love to see more items from shops like sable smithy, spells galore, and weapons warehouse. I mean, I'm not a battler but it seems like it's been years since we actually got new items for the weapon shops? I used to focus on the wardrobe a lot years ago but now I'm just kinda 'meh' about the whole thing. It's become too overwhelming :(
I'm looking at this topic once again, and I fail to see why less restockables is a good thing for Subeta.
Having restockables mean people have to be active on site to get these items. Not just by restocking them, but since they can be gotten from vending and quests, it encourages onsite activity. It encourages people to browse the site and actually play outside of events.
Yeah, cash shop items gives revenue and stuff, so I can understand and appreciates things like Delish (I don't even use the wardrobe and I find the items seriously gorgeous, you have no idea how much I love the recent lines) I'd be sad if things like Delish were gone. And, this is coming from someone who never uses the wardrobe.
I don't mind having lots of wearables as long as they add something to the site. I'm heavily biased, but I love the Ruffie Raffle because it added something new to the site without taking anything away, and it's a feature people have indeed asked for years (wear our pets on our avatars? hell yes). It brought attention to the carnival, and it brought new things to do there (with the change to the Balloon Popping games, namely)
Things like Delish and SBQ are adding to Subeta.
But, were things like the cash shop animal machine and three waves of steamworks menagerie items necessary. Keep in mind, I actually LOVE the animal machine but, it wasn't needed. It doesn't add anything of substance on Subeta.
I've been waiting since they announced the silver and cherry Neelas for their beanbags and plushies. ;n; They're even cash shop items.
But yeah I agree wholeheartedly with your statement here:
I'm bad with words but it would be nice to see more of other things released, I feel like there's almost "too much" in the way of wearables being thrown at us its hard to keep up. (Almost overwhelming) I was SUPER excited when the experiment books that were released, I don't think I've gone that crazy for something in a while with watching restocks and vending. Since then it's been the mints, the marbles and the shadows which are all wearables.
I don't mind the mints because, gourmand. They're edible as well, and I have no problem with dual-duty wearables.
The marbles are okay but we have like...how many colors, like 10? It's a lot. They're nice items, but I would have lived with them not being wearables and being in the toy box (because marbles)
Shadows are gotten from the Hustler, so I'm not even annoyed because I'm just so happy to have more Hustler items.
PRETTY MUCH, THE ONLY ONE I FIND SUPERFLUOUS OUT OF THESE THREE IS THE MARBLES BECAUSE OF THE 38586050 COLORS AND THE FACT THEY MISSED AN OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE THEM BE TOY/WEARABLE.
Found the quote
Also I'm sure you've noticed we've just slowed down (a lot) on putting things in shops and have made restocking a lot less of a "thing" on the site in the past year+. We aren't devoting a lot of resources to main shops at the moment.
I'm hoping the change is temporary but eh
I remember this quote. Saddening.
Thanks for finding it back <3
Actually, I don't think the weapons warehouse and defend+conquer released anything in 4 years. I don't even recall ever seeing a news post for new items from there at any point in my time on Subeta (actually, for 2014 and 2015, every last new weapon was either cash shop challenger loot or a boss prize, which, as a battler, I feel is kind of depressing).

Like. +1. Retweet. This. Thanks for saying this,
I don't demand that Subeta be exactly like the site that I discovered back in 2006. That'd be unreasonable. But it's not unreasonable to ask that as the site evolves, it not abandon/neglect the games and features that attracted longtime members in the first place.
I don't love the fact that this site has become so heavily focused on avatars since I couldn't care less about them, but that seems to be what a lot of people want. I don't know.
I guess what I'm saying is it would be nice for subeta to remember that the most popular site feature is not the be-all and end-all of the site. Other stuff gets released, I know, but the proportion of wearable to non-wearable stuff is getting NUTS. I totally agree with OP.
Amen. You sum things way better than I do.
Some people who love the wardrobe and use it on a regular basis are starting to feel it's getting over the top and I'm really happy people are feeling honest enough about that.
Yeah, people love dressing up their avatars, but once your avatar is dressed up and you're happy with it, now what? There are less and less people looking at collecting all the clothes because it makes using the wardrobe sloading.
Sorry. It makes the wardrobe load slowly.
Spells Galore is another neglected shop. Why can't we have some more items to make new scrolls? Then there's the Cavern Of Curious which might as well not be on the site. What about Egyptian inspired food and drink which would suit the Sacred Lands? There could be scrolls to read and Egyptian inspired souvenirs which would be great for some pet treasure chests.
I honestly don't see why the restocking aspect of the site is being downplayed. Many players enjoy restocking and it keeps them occupied on here. And people with very large shops due to restocking on top of quests and vending will be inclined to buy GAs for pricing them. :)
