So this is just my 2cents on how I restock personally, which I am adding after seeing 's statistics on where people buy from... I will have one tab open with the shop, and then in another tab I will open up shop search. I find and item in the shop I believe is a high rarity, search for it, and buy from the search, so my restock values aren't added to the "from shop" list, though I am restocking. When I am active on Subeta, I restock ~4x a week for an hour+ each time. Not all people restock the same way! and I make a third of my sP from restocking. So this is important to me.
Thanks :)
So, after all the complaints about too many wearables, what do we get? The Chibi Mallarchy Zipper Pull in the Recycling shop and five different colours of a Leather Messenger Bag.
ciannwn Even though everyone says no more wearables, I noticed on the what do you want for Vesnali board that the vast majority of suggestions are wearables.
It's because people do want wearables (myself included), they just don't want to see the same things over and over again. I'm personally not too fond of the bags that came out, not because I don't like them, but I just don't wear bags. At least they weren't more flowery skirts and dresses.
I'd really just like to see some different things, restockable things, foregrounds and ground items mostly maybe some full backgrounds we can use to layer with.
EDIT: I said that and I look over and see I'm wearing a bag, but it doesn't count because it's a Mallarchy so...That's my story.
Yeah, we didn't have 50 colors of messenger bags yet, so I don't mind these release as much as I'm going to mind the inevitable bunch of skirts and tanktops with floral prints for Vesnali.
I don't mind original releases, things we didn't really have before. We really were lacking in actual usable bags. We're not lacking in corsets-with-a-gear-on-it, shirts, skirts and tanktops
Yeah, probably more "revamp pants" than release another dozen colors of slacks.
Yeah, you're probably right. Point being: PANTS.
I've finally accomplished something on this site :P
Also, since the creation of this post, there were more news updates than just the Mallarchy and the bags
We had
April collection. Collections usually have a nice ratio of wearables/unwearables.
Free Gift - Elwooden Crate thing, who gives a food and a minion. No wearable.
Fruit Stickers in the sticker shop. Hell yes. How can you get mad at stickers?
Token Shop restock of Masquerade stuff, 4 wearables, 3 non-wearables (including two books)
Ikumajiiiktree new fruits, plus rerelease of retired fruit
Two new SBQ lines, plus the rerelease of three other ones
Tossed Suitcoats
Two Blue Moon vendable wearables.
New carnival games prizes, two wearables out of seven
Overall, this is far from bad. It's a ratio I actually can live with, especially since a bunch of stuff was added in user shops and in usual places, like the Carnival.
The restockable wearables we got aren't think we already had lots and lots and lots of, and aren't things that are so niche and unusable that no one will use them, ever.
I agree that the site is prioritizing new wearables too much. I'd much prefer that more time was spent revamping old art or filling in gaps like the silver and cherry colors you mentioned.
I think that the wearables collection is getting ab it too much attention. Being a wardrobe guru myself, I think that attention needs to be had on other sections. I think that with the allowing of CWs, although not everyone buys them, the wardrobe sector of the site is getting too much attention.
What if, during events, since they are pretty much once a year anyway, insteda of flooding the site with more wearables, and like a little bit of food, and a couple plushies and beanbags, there could be less wearables, and more focus on other parts.
There are many die hard battlers on the site. WHen was the last time the site focused on the battlers during an event? Other than the SUPER EXPENSIVE weapons, and the enemies released that are almost impossible for the average joe to fight, when was the last time a good weapon, or set of weapons was released that was over a tier 4? The BC could be so much more than it is.
I think that this site could be a lot more than just wearables. It seems that this has been a main focus since the beginning, and it is the most profitable for the site itself, so I don't think, unfortunately, that it is going to change :(

this is what I agree with: "The only surprise is knowing where the clothes will be : cash shop, SBQ or token shop."
The site wearables are far and few between and when they are released they are of lesser quality/cuteness/AWESOME factor is missing. I know this is an opinion but it is one that many share, as I have found by reading posts from random people and talking with friends about it.
that being said, I love wearables and minions the most. I pretty much only play this site for the plots, and the HA experience.
Public Ping Group - Xanadu Galleria and RAE Collab
I really really extremely want:Don't get me wrong, I like wearables, but I like restocking stuff a whole lot more. To eliminate shops and move away from restocking, I feel, is going to cause such a domino effect that the site might never recover.
Foraging is something I have come to abhor too. I came from another site where they had foraging and it is so damn monotonous that it makes vending look engaging by comparison. For the love of all things holy, PLEASE DO NOT INTRODUCE FORAGING HERE. It SUCKS. Not to mention, if you have carpal tunnel or any sort of issue with your hands/wrists/arms, you pretty much can't do it for long periods of time and it absolutely kills your ability to participate (hence my leaving that other site with the foraging in the first place).
What I would love to see, instead, is the introduction of a new area, or maybe more areas on Subeta/Atebus that are "newly discovered" (let's say, the Freyalise comes back at Keel Hauliday with word of a new island they found? Or the denizens of Atebus recently caught wind via the Coda Caves faeries that there was movement reported over in an uninhabited area of the moon that they need help to investigate). This not only can spiral out into new items of all types, but also a plot or maybe even a routine event like Masquerade or Survival.
There were a ton of great suggestions on this thread. I mean, by all means, do continue to produce wearables because that's a huge draw for a lot of people, but make them more quality than quantity, and make them a tiny bit more sporadic (and by all means, the military garb for different nations of Subeta? OMG all my yes. That is SUCH a cool idea). Put just a little more focus on other things like beanbags, plushies, stickers, new foods (I totally loved the new monthly themed Saheric foods, I dunno about the rest of you), etc.
And just my two cents but adding a CI submission that's like the CW submission form would be a totally welcome thing for a lot of people. Having things that are made for collecting and showing off is the hallmark of galleries of all types, and not everyone wants items that are high priced wearables, some just want things for a pet's (or multiple pets) TC or for a gallery of special items.
On another note, If we are having monthly themes for a while, why is it not on the agenda to address the Atebus shop that way? I mean, it would make sense, introducing the items to the shop and generating new buzz there, plus the revamping of the items could be tackled in that manner as well, just like Spells Galore and the Cavern of Curios were just done. Most of the issue with the Atebus shop isn't that no one wants to shop there (I do every day if I can manage it cause a lot of the items are truly neat), it's that the items that it stocks are sorely out of date and don't match the style of the rest of the stuff on site anymore. I fail to see why revamping can't be done there to give it a breath of new life. And if all else fails and the new overhaul hasn't helped as much as was expected, THEN take it down. But at least give it a chance to thrive because eventually some of those items are going to need to be reworked anyway if they are going to maintain any sort of value once they are placed into the new Stargazer game.

Sorry I didn’t reply earlier to this! I think we’ve done very well this month especially focusing on things outside of wearables. Yes, we’ve gotten some wearables here and there, but a lot of them make fabulous pet treasure items as well. We’ve also gotten some new weapons today, one that even restocks (yessssss). You’ll find that we will be doing more Battle related things (like more weapons being released now that the BAs have given us the go ahead to do more weapons :)). I know is working on some battle updates (LIKE NOT REFRESHING EVER PAGE IN A BATTLE I’M SO EXCITED).
We aren’t moving away from shops, though. I’ve mentioned quite a bit that we’ll be getting rid of the Atebus Shop eventually but that’s literally the only shop I’ve talked about us closing. And that was before we started doing the monthly themes and we’ve seen how productive they’ve been. We were able to get some great things out this month, not only were we able to update some very old items (lol spells galore) but we got some much needed items into the Cavern shop. I think we’ve gotten into a really good rhythm for items that work as multiple things, especially after Vesnali. I’m really excited for June’s theme because some great items might come from that (still planning everything obviously BUT STILL).
I’m not against making Atebus in general a monthly theme and using some of the ideas people have come up with on the forums (because like you said, some great suggestions have come up). The Monthly Themes have been pretty successful, but we wouldn’t be able to do Atebus as a theme for a few months (because we’ve already planned like 5 months ahead?)
I doubt we’ll be doing anything like discovering a new land for something like Masquerade or Survival, two holidays that have already had quite a number of plots. It’s time to give the other times of the year some plot/lore love!
- I meant that the new ___(whatever you dream up) could be like Masq or Survival in that it has the potential to be an annual thing, but I think I worded it funky lol. Most definitely I think that a new area to discover would be incredible though.
I think what worries me is that sometimes Keith mentions wanting to move away from putting things in the NPC shops, and that will eventually lead to their demise. But if they get attention (even of the occasional sort), then that's fine by me. I would love to see restocking move back closer to what it was before the start of the updates, but some of them did need to be added in and I'm hoping with time that it will right itself.
At any rate, if you could, hold off on closing the Atebus shop and moving it's stock to the new Stargazer game until after such a time where it could pass through a monthly revamp phase, I think you'd find that there would be a lot of happy users as well as an increase in traffic to the shop after the revamps are revealed. It's just a thought, and in the end, you could always nix it if it proves unsuccessful in generating interest. Really it's just delaying for the sake of making absolutely sure that it cannot be saved.
And 5 months of themes? Count me in :D And THANK YOU FOR NEW WEAPONS. Cannot say that enough <3 <3 <3 !!!!

Well, moving the shop items to stargazer was when we were focusing more on Stargazer as a revamp (now we've been working on other holiday things, fixing things that fit within monthly themes so we aren't so everywhere doing things, and other things that i don't want to spoil lala). We have no immediate plans to close the Atebus Shop, though. I can't really comment on the restocking changes because I wasn't the one to do that.
- Well I'll take that as good news and run with it.
And yeah, restocking is another beast left to be tackled elsewhere. >.> <.<
Can't wait for these new (unspoiled as of yet) plans :D
/hugs and zips away, flinging glitter everywhere in her wake

Thank you for taking the time out to respond. I am super excited to see more attention being given to different parts of the site. I don't know anything about coding, except that adding new things does take time, but it felt to me like some really simple things were being ignored for a while. I have been a member of this site for a long time, like 6 years, and sometimes it seems like more is taken away than is added. I guess I also don't like change very much either. I do think that the staff is doing very well with many things on the site, sometimes I just feel like our opinions are overlooked or ignored, but then again, I don't really say too much in forums to begin with, so people tend to take my comments the wrong way.
[flower=kristi1980]
Not that my opinion matters much, and it's kind of off-topic (guess that doesn't matter much at this point lol), but I still think this is a bad idea and I really hope y'all reconsider this if you aren't already. Yes, the game needs a revamp, but I still think it's better to come up with a handful of completely new prizes unique to the game and just keep the Atebus shop open.
Unless there's a good reason to close the shop that I haven't heard yet.
