Hi everyone! We're working on some cool things, but I wanted to get your feedback on a possible idea that we're considering moving forward with. I don't want to get too specific because it'll let you in on what I'm planning (maybe) but hopefully you can give feedback on the idea itself!

Basically, what do you think of locked items in the wardrobe, that you can not remove. Items from doing various things on the site that act sort of like the bases - items that you cannot remove from the wardrobe but can add to your avatar any time. It'd give us more freedom to make things that are old / hard to find / can be turned into the pawn shop for CSC purchasable with other currencies without deflating the value of the item.

Another example: Like having a flash sale on some CS items where you buy them for tons of sP instead of csc - but they go directly into your wardrobe and cant be taken out, so you cant sell them for CSC a week later (or in the case of CWs just pawn them a week later).

We sort of tested this with the 'shared items' tab (which was recently removed from the wardrobe) where you could access items purchased by your forum group, but they couldn't be removed.

Let me know what you think / if you think this could work!

After skimming through the first four pages, that&;s what I understood - which is far from what everyone is imagining the idea to be. (Im not agreeing or disagreeing, just trying to figure out what&;s the idea here!)

Situation: Item is purchasable via different methods (csc, sp, event prizes)

Option one: you buy it with the currency of your choice, which becomes an item you can use/trade/sell/put in tc
Option two: you buy it at a discounted sp price for wardrobe purposes, and it becomes locked so that the discount doesn&;t turn into a profit a week later

The purpose of locking items would be to create a sp sink that allows users to purchase various items at discounted price if they were going to serve as wardrobe purposes anyway, while still allowing them to purchase the items via other means.

(Let me know if im totally wrong ;; )

^ This is what I mean!

Sounds like an interesting idea but what about those people that quit the site and deactivate their accounts the items are stuck in there forever kind of like the issues with collections Items are just lost forever.

not sure how i feel about this, since i often find it very hard to get the achievements that you get these kinds of items from, or for players who arrived after a certain contest, who may really want the item, but never be able to get it. kinda like the items from the alexander page hunt, that are almost impossible to get now, but you can't take part in any more (as far as i know). so yeah, not sure i like this idea. i can see why you think it's a good idea, but personally, i'm not that into it. sorry!

I don't like this idea to be honest. I think the site has enough collections already and this would be an additional one. There would have to be something go mark that the item can't be removed and I think it adds extra complexity to the wardrobe that doesn't need to be there. There would be even more confusion with CW if they were included and those are already complicated enough I feel like.

So in short interesting idea but I would ate for clothing to turn into a collection.

Edit: I also dislike this being attached to achievements because I like having the option to sell stuff I earn but don't want.

No. Because one of the things I like about Subeta is that if I put in effort (participating or earning sP) I can own any item on site with a bit of luck. doing this means that some things will be 100% off limits and you will never have a chance in hell of owning them.

If there is a CS flash sale I would hope it would be with new items only. I for one, and I think most other people, would be really annoyed if we spent csc on items that came back later for sP.

I do not like this idea at all. I don't like sP sinks but I grit my teeth and endure them for things like Alegarten and the cruise/peekaboo (and to a lesser extent, the MC,). Having locked items worked great for hair styles we bought and redeeming coupons, but that's because we had the choice to sink into them, to either put the hair coupon in our wardrobe OR redeem it in the salon, we can decide what to do with it. For things like achievement prizes, we can sell them if they don't suit our needs/wants/tastes, and someone who may want a spare or just wants more can have it. We still get the title and whatnot.

I don't like the thought of having items you can't take out. I like the freedom of being able to choose what I have in my wardrobe and not. Honestly I think things should be fixed in the wardrobe first before thinking of more features.

But, no...I don't like not being able to not remove clothing/items.

makes a very good point:

I, too, only like irremovable items in the wardrobe if it's done by personal choice. I bought all the hairstyles from the Cruise because it was my choice to do so. What if the achievement item(s) weren't something someone would use? Why should a player be forced to be stuck with something that will be useless in their wardrobe? Permanent wardrobe items should only be feasible by personal choice and nothing else.

Define "tons of sP"? What if we buy them for TC though?

Not too sure about this one, if I end up with an item that I don't want that one of my friends wants tons I'd love to be able to gift them or whatever. The CS item sale sounds cool, but as a whole I'd have to say no on this one for whatever my opinion is worth.

Not a fan. Sometimes I'm not around to participate in events which means there will be items I'll never be able to get ahold of if they're locked in the inventory and not available to be sold. I feel like it leaves out players who don't always have the time to be here.

I don't like it. I like to be free to do wathever I want to do with my items. And I don't want items stuck in my account forever because I can't sell them.

I'm not really fond of this, because I usually buy things for my gallery, more than I use them for my wardrobe.

For old items that I can get in other ways, I wouldn't really mind because I can get them in the old ways.

For new items, I'd prefer to have them be no trade/no sell, just so that I can put them in a treasure chest or in a gallery.

curious to know if this will be something players can use themselves or if it's only up to staff? I know there is a definite way to use it re: private cws, keeping them permanently locked to certain accounts/in certain users' wardrobes? c:

It would certainly deflate CSC and increase the demand for sP.

I personally kind of like the idea, but am also apprehensive as to how it would react with the rest of the economy.
