I also needed to mention. I only have 1 pet. However, I love collecting items of mixed (wearable and non) and adding it into her TC. It would be very sad, if I decided to remove an item from there to use in my wardrobe and not be able to put it back, as I have done in the past.

Because it's not the same idea, and we also frequently implement things that users may not think they want (bases) but turn out to be a really fun system. :)

I really don't like 👎👎👎
-Guru None of the items that you put in your wardrobe would work this way. It'd be items that we specifically sanctioned for this. Like I said, we decide to sell CS items for sP or maybe island items for sP over a weekend with a big note that if you buy them they will go in there for good :)

I'm generally not in favour of this idea. Mostly for reasons others have already mentioned.
I can see it working for skins, especially if old skins can be brought back.
But when I think of locked items, I keep thinking of people asking about the Councilors Cruise hairstyles and their disappointment when told there is no way to get them. It just seems terribly cruel to put pretty things on the site and then make damned sure that only a handful of people can ever get them and that the handful of people who do have them can't ever profit from them.
If this does become a thing, there has to be a way that people can earn the stuff. If, for example, its tied to an achievement, then the achievement shouldn't retire (i.e. it should be a general achievement and not tied to an event).

I don't like this idea much either. I don't want to see the wardrobe turn into another collection. Plenty of event prizes are already nearly impossible for people to obtain because the people who have them in their wardrobe or armory don't want to part with them.
If this was linked to an event, would we even have the choice of putting it in our wardrobe first like a plushie or would it automatically just show up and be locked there forever? I would almost definitely put LESS effort into an event if the latter was true because event items make nice TC fodder or gifts to friends. Not everyone's priority is the wardrobe. Sometimes even if I earn the event prize I'll go buy another copy or two of something just so I don't have to make the decision between it being a tc item and a wardrobe item.
I think we should find a different idea for an sp sink- one that doesn't risk harming cash shop donations since ultimately, Subeta needs that more than it needs its users to part with their sp.
I really like 's idea! I love being able to add the perfect item to treasure chests, to collections etc, so having items locked to accounts would at least mean items aren't forever trapped in my wardrobe. I also like being able to buy duplicates of things (one for wardrobe, one for a collection, or one to feed to my gourmand and one in a gallery, etc) and I try not to get too wound up about items I can't have for whatever reason - but that said it's still really disheartening to spend time looking for items that are just right for a treasure chest only to find out there's none in shop search and it'll just never be buyable. Plus, I've only been here for a couple of years, so there's a lot I've missed out on event-wise, and I really like that I can still generally find items from resellers. so I guess all that said I'm on the fence about this, leaning towards not being a fan!
Unfortunately, no. That was my first idea, but we just don't track user items in that way. The technical explanation is that all user items on the site sort of exist all over the place. So an example is that your wardrobe items are completely separate from your inventory in the database, and if you move items between them Subeta can't tell that it was the "same" item.
So we wouldn't be able to tag an item you bought during a sale that I'm talking about as a "sp item" that can only be sold for sP going forward, because once you move it once we have no idea where it originated anymore. Totally a technical limitation of the site, but nothing that is really fixable at this stage.

Not a fan for many of the reasons listed already. First, I just despise bound items. Second, we already have too many items that are impossible to get, do we need more? Also I and probably many others can't be here 24/7 for every event or spend 16 hours a day for a week straight clicking away for some of the other achievements or events, but if someone else can and would rather have the profit from those items, why shouldn't people be allowed to sell or buy them?
Not having any control over what I can do with those items after I earned or bought them would make me far less likely to buy those items or even bother to participate in those events, to be honest, as achievements and titles and such don't mean much to me.

Please contact if selling these! (and other colors) (and other colors as well) Offering csc or will open my owned list for trades!
Another problem I didn't even think about. I know the site is trying to discourage hoarding. Wouldn't this just add to the problem since you literally cannot get rid of these items?
Also in regards to having it locked in wardrobes, I HATE that part of neo where paintbrush clothing has to remain in your closet. I have tons of stuff I will never use but I can't take out and give to friends or even just get rid of.

The main reason why people wanted island items to be rereleased is for Item Hunt completion reasons. Locking them into the wardrobe would go against the reason why people wanted them rereleased in the first place.
Or complete a certain Korbat gallery?
That's true, thank you for your response, I appreciate it. I still think it will be sad, though, if an item is completely out of reach for users, it's discouraging and would be frustrating for both those who get the items but have such a limited use of them and those who want the items but can't have them.
I don't see the benefit in saying 'no' to users who want some item and have the sp/csc for it and 'no' to users who have items they don't want or need and would rather have sp/csc for them. I don't see how that will change the page views for events.
I think everyone is getting stuck on the idea of this turning the wardrobe into another collection which isn't the case. The idea is that these are items you can get from other places (with either CSC or some other currency) that we want to make available but only for a very limited time and go directly into your wardrobe, so that we can absolutely control the number of them there are floating around the site. I hope that makes sense.

Hmm so it's pretty much an all or nothing type feature? Would there be a way for people to trade these items for each other at all? I think if this was introduced (since it sorta sounds like it's gonna be forced on us anyway.) there really needs be at least ONE method for new users to somehow access the items, or for people to get doubles for whatever they need them for.
I think I explained it wrong at the start, these will be items that are available for other venues (CSC/etc) and we want people to be able to have them for their wardrobe. If they want them for the other things (treasure chests, etc) they have the opportunity to buy them for that in the original currency.

I think this is a good idea, possibly applicable to future 'private' cws somehow to stop all the bitching? Though, I can also see how people might get butthurt over it if it's used for super hard to get event prizes and whatnot.

Haha that too! I have all but stealthy waiting for the day they promised to make them removable. And I know this part wouldn't apply here, but there I have different species clothing I don't even own anymore and they are just stuck. Ugh.

So theoretically we could either buy the wearable at full price and have full control OR we buy it with sP and have it locked?
Also I don't understand how locking items to people's account is different from people hoarding items - which is what you didn't want people to do in response to CS items or CSC being added to places like the MC or Crystal Shop...
I just glossed over the first three pages but my feelings about the idea are roughly on the same line of other people's. First of all, let me preface this by saying this is a very bad idea when it comes to CWs. Jessi asked us about this a while ago, and the feedback was mostly negative. People buy these for TCs, sometimes people get tired of their stuff (which they paid csc for!) and want to cycle them back within private groups, etc. So for CWs, my vote is a no.
For regular items, I find it extremely odd that some people would have, say, the Viv Permafrost Jacket and would be able to take it off and sell it, while others would have the same Viv jacket but wouldn't be able to dispose of it. Tbh, I dislike this idea for existing items... but I'm not entirely opposed to something like that happening.
What I'm thinking about is a shop (think something like Subq's makeup area) where we can buy wearables only for sp (could be big amounts of sp, if the idea is to have a sink) and those wearables would be permanently available** and get permanently attached to the wardrobe once you buy them. For the sake of pet people's lives, those item icons would have to be AT MOST like hair coupons/loyalty boxes -- either they have a VERY generic icon, or (like default hairstyles, which would be preferable) NO icon at all! If it's going to be stuck there, then we have to be buying overlays. Brand new items + no icon + permanent availability = I could see it working.
**By permanently available I mean not off limits. If we mean to have a sp sink, I'd say permanently available as in, Subq makeup shop "always there". If we mean to have more activity during events, then permanently available means an achievement that WILL come back next time the event rolls around. Kind of like how skins work now -- achievement prizes that are wearable, do not have an icon (preferably) and don't retire. Because I really don't think it's fun to add more things that are 100% off limits for newbies, especially when we already have tons of titles and other achievements (including their item prizes, too) that already fall on this category.
That way, no pet people get frustrated, and, if users don't like the overlay, they won't buy it / work on that achievement. If they're new, they'll work on it next year.
While we're talking sp sinks, I support more styles getting directly sold (Nathaniel could have a shop?) for sp and getting perma-attached to the wardrobe, which includes, but wouldn't be restricted to, the Centropolis plot hairstyles. They should definitely make a comeback.
