A straight to collection way to buy retired plushies, beanbags and stickers would be fucking amazing, just saying.

Please not wardrobe though ;___;

I think everyone jumped to the wrong conclusions but the idea is pretty interesting, keep up with it!

Now that I'm certain that my situation was actually right, I wanted to add a few things -

just asked about making those 'discounted' items account bound as opposed to wardrobe bound. This is an interesting idea, since wardrobe isnt the only affeccted area onsite. I am however concerned by how complex and far this idea could go, if every single item could become locked - at some point, where does it stop (because user economy is also based off selling/trades)

Also, from what I've understood about cws, this would only apply to cash shop cws - meaning cws that anyone can purchase - they would have the option of being bought at a discount for wardrobe purpose.

I think people are referring to Jessi's previous idea of submitting items that are locked by default. In this case, you cannot submit a cw as locked, you can only purchase a public one at a discounted price. (right? D: )

Seems unnecessary to me,.

Why not just make the damn wardrobe work the way it's supposed, and then maybe when that's done worry about new features like this?

Unfortunately account bound items aren't really a thing, right now. Things like the loyalty boxes are stuck in your inventory don't have the option to move to treasure chests. I could rewrite treasure chests to make that an option, though, probably.

It sounds like an interesting idea. However, due to the laws of economics, deflation will occur on the items available for purchase due to there being less (or no) demand in the regular market anymore.

For example, I can buy a vanity set for a huge amount of Sp instead if CSC but now that I've done that i am no longer interested in purchasing it trading among the users for the items as I normally would. Therefore I have been taken out of the economy and with enough users being removed there will be deflation.

not liking this idea..if i purchase or earn/win something i should be able to remove it from my wardrobe and put it in my gallery, shop, tc, or sell/give to a friend if i want to :/

But yeah, even though my opinion changed to a maybe, you would still need to establish a fair CSC/sP conversion rate.

Talking about CWs in special, this is the reason why I wouldn't want to see it applied, even to those that are perma-available to the public. Those CWs already end up getting sold quite cheap on r200/pawn shop/other venues due to their availability, we don't really need to discount them much more... in the end, most people use them for wardrobes, and the customers who paid more would likely feel slighted. :/

[edit] Also this is a great point about why it's not nice to have it on existing items.

I love that idea. Chop chop Keith, to work... account bound items pretty please. That would also help with the extremely annoying "loyalty box is stuck in my inventory" problem.

Keith if you want sP sinks, I think you got quite some inspiration now on how to take sP successfully out of circulation without creating an angry mob. (that said: from wardrobe locking to sp sinks, what a jump)

Basically, you're going to be selling straight-to-wardrobe overlays from now on, and if users want to purchase the item version, they would have to pay a higher premium for it so they can sell/trade/gift it. nnWhat does this mean for transforming items that including a wearable form?

Tbh there should just be a brainstorm thread where sP sink ideas are thrown all over the place.

Interesting idea...since I don't really buy things simply to make a profit, I would generally be ok with this. If I buy something from the cash shop or token shop it's something I actually want to use myself, not sell.

I think the cw question also needs to be clarified n_n

From what I understood, 'discounted for sp' cws would only be purchasable from the cash shop (and potentially user shops).

In no way, is it the same idea as Jessi previously discussed, being that cws could be submitted directly as locked items (I know this idea was largely rejected, as private cws are always an object of drama and controversy).

Yeah, I'm getting some really good ideas. Unfortunately account bound items is actually just a really, really hard problem. Right now we've got separate tables for each of those places (user_inventory, user_vault, user_shop_stock, user_treasure, etc) and moving them all into one table isn't an easy feat; we'd have to have some sort of transition.

This was actually the eventual goal of the first wardrobe rewrite (it uses a table called user_item_location) but it never got moved to other parts of the site.

I'd love it if this were easy to implement but it's something that would require working... any part of the site that gives / take items away. :(

I think this is a brilliant idea. A lot of TS items get bought (within the first few seconds of release) to be resold so I think if there was an option to buy said item for cheaper and have it locked to the wardrobe (if it's something you genuinely plan on using) then I would be all for it and might actually make the TS better.

Not to say I would like this option on everything, I think CWs should remain out of this equation entirely, but this would be useful for TS items and maybe even BHH items as a discount option for people who genuinely plan on using these items rather than just inflating their worth.

Other places I would love to see this is places like recycling center and other shops where you normally would have to spend special tokens (new years tokens, etc..) I know this would defeat the purpose of those shops being themed, or limited but what if buying with sP for that would maybe only work during that season to use sP to buy from those shops rather than their currency.

Do you think it would be possible to have just a place to buy collectables and when you purchase you run the same script that the "add to collection" does in the inventory? Then the item doesn't hit the inventory and cause the problem with moving around, right?

Doesn't entirely solve the account bound issue though.

No. Because one of the things I like about Subeta is that if I put in effort (participating or earning sP) I can own any item on site with a bit of luck.
doing this means that some things will be 100% off limits and you will never have a chance in hell of owning them.

All I can say is that this is what I would have said.: /

I support the script for older collectibles, especially the ones that have been off the market for a long time now. Anything that makes collections a little more attainable is welcomed c:
