My opinion would be biased because I was against all along, and was never really into BQs to begin with, so I have little exp amassed on my pet, while other people kept on doing BQs for years with their capped pets. All in all, it probs wouldn't be fair for them, staff should have thought ahead and I hope they do at least learn from that one mistake.
I edited my previous comment with a note this morning that apparently never went through so here it is again :nI've seen many people mention that there should be a new tier and that's a terrible idea. I don't know what you guys think tiers are for in the first place, but there already are only like 3 weapons in tier 12, what good exactly would come out of a tier 13?nn

Nothing good per se - it'll be the unlucky tier of endless torment training. Or something.
My comment on adding a tier is to curb the exp nonsense. Add tier 13 and charge 20k per stat. then keep it, remove it, revert exp cost to normal, idgaf.
I dont like the sound of tier 13 anyway. You can always scale a lot of t11 weapons up. or, idk, add new weapons? if there are more tier(s) added.
Personally, im with insane. They should have stopped exp accumulation at the cap, not sure why they didnt.
edit:
yes it needs to be recoded, but it obviously isnt going to happen. patching holes with duct tape, velcro, and bandaids without longterm foresight seems to be the best the site can do.
Bad measures cannot be answered with worst measures for the sole reason that it would be a decent temporary fix. Temporary fixes is all that's been thrown around for the past few revamps while we wait for mythical new code coded by mythical programmers paid with mythical money.

cutting exp is a bad idea ........... my pet has over 4mil from impossible BQ and from my regular battles that i bought that i am still not done with and cutting exp punishes me for battles that are NEEDED.
If my exp is taken so will my GA period.............

First, thank you weighing in,it's nice to know that you care, and you are right about the experience points, somehow that will have to be worked around,I don't know how.: / Me I don't have that many a couple million, because I trained all six of my pets from day one...but I'm sure there will be a way around it if we work on it,some might have to give some points up,but whatever..it's comforting to know that you guys are at least thinking about it..Thanks
Well it was very obviously poor foresight to allow capped pets to get xp. Hopefully there's a policy that any pets that hit the new cap get xp set to 0 and can't gain any more. Tier 13 does just sound horrible (and unlucky). And I spose in all it doesn't really matter as the people it would affect most are likely the ones who are going to boost the rest of the way, just as fast as spending xp basically. And even more so because the caps likely not going to be raised much anyhow. Maybe a BC recode will be viable after the huge influx of players/money after the main site recode which should be pretty subeta SOONâ„¢, but until then I'll be satisfied with as much duct tape as can be mustered.
Because this is how it used to be, and the top battlers complained that there was no content for them - and if we did release things for them it was so out of the reach of 99% of the people who play the site that we were releasing opponents for literally ten people who could beat it.
With a cap we have a physical end of the road so that we can make opponents around the tiers.
I'm interesting (again) in the idea of a phantom cap but I still don't actually think it's a solution for all of the problems of the BC which are that it's incredibly complicated, there are too many different icon types, and nothing actually interesting about the end game. :|

Keith's Stats 4 Total Battles 2 Wins 2 Losses 0 Ties No offense but... yea... Do you even BC bro?
But on a serious note, the only real solution would be a complete rework-(weapons are WAY too op in general, speed is useless, freezing scroll hoards make any freezable opponent cake etc etc)-and that's probably out of the scope of reality. I for one am more than willing to accept as many band-aids and as much duct tape as possible for the time/reality being. I also totally disagree about too many icon types, it adds some nice variety and ensures that opponents are almost always doing some damage. And I think with a fix to the opponents high scores list and maybe a bit more battle events even without new prizes, there's plenty to do at end-game. Of course I also hold the apparently unpopular view that making a new (different build) pet is end-game as well.
25000 this is not even at current stat cap 22k but it is how the top 20 page looks like
we would like to have different pets not all the same.

please owner this is embarassing
We're not in 2010 anymore, with a bunch of pets being very far ahead of 99% of the battle scene, do an actual look around and please come back to us AFTER you do. The reasons for why the cap hasn't been changed yet that are piling up now just keep getting more ridiculous.
People have repeatedly stated they wanted a phantom cap, and didn't mind the opponents not getting stronger. And yet you keep bringing up that "top battlers complained that there was no content for them" when really what happened then was a VERY different situation. Apples and oranges.
There will likely be two different levels of battling - people who will stop training at 22K or whatever it takes them to defeat all the opponents, because why bother spending more money on that pet if he can't gain anything else from it? And then people who care about training more than about looting opponents with 15 pets each month, that will be THRILLED to boost that extra 2000 strength that may add 200 damage to their average on a good day
No one said the phantom cap was the solution that would solve world hunger, really it would only solve the problem it created in the first place. But that would be huge already, if you didn't notice, we don't get a lot of fixing around here. Overall it's mostly waiting for things to not happen

Like I said - I'm down to make changes. I just don't think I've heard anything here (or other places) that makes me think that the phantom cap is the right move.
Is it because you don't have anything to do right now and at least training would be better than that? Is it because you just like training more than what you have available? Is it because you want to see bigger numbers even if at some point you eclipse everything and bigger numbers are just that?
Like, help me understand why a phantom cap would be better for you :)

I can only loot with about 1.5 pets right now, but I have a growing army I train the crap out of. I only aspire to looting with 15 pets ;) I also want to train my pet to over 10K strength to hulk smash my opponent (boo-yah). I would like to think one day I will achieve a single hit doing 10K damage. The number itself is elusive.
If I want a challenge, I have my little baby pets who can't beat Wyrmgear yet, let alone the big guys. Create a new pet, viola, instant challenge.
I can't say I'm part of the first group, because I haven't capped yet (although I'm REALLY not looking forward to Eigh's forced retirement + the no-more-training-do-not-pass-go part ), but I feel like I can weigh in on the last two. Training is my favourite thing to do on site. Even more than the actual battling, because I see battling as sort of a side-effect/perk of training, if that makes sense. I started off just training one pet, now I train them all, because I know one day I'll have to stop and move on to the next one anyway. But if I could keep focusing on my main, even though a good part of the crazy high stats he'd end up with wouldn't even count in the bc, I would. Not because I want/expect any kind of advantage to come from it, and even though I'd know not to expect any challenges because he could just stomp everything without thinking about it (like says above, that's what my other 9 pets are for!). I'd do it just because I want to keep training.
It's also (for me anyway) that I don't like the challenge. If I hit 22k within my lifetime, I'm still going to struggle with the top opponents because I suck at battling. If I can go beyond 22k I can actually have a chance at beating them.
It's all about training and going where no one has been, experiencing different levels of battling. I've crossed the possibility of there being stronger challengers off my mind a long time ago, when I need a challenge I equip battle sporks and go beat the crap out of Prodigy, or steal his own weapons and kill him with them (they have a -100% minus heal). Or I equip tier 5 weapons. Or whatever, there are plenty of challenges you can set for yourself that need not to have whatever amazing set people think it takes.
I still have distinct memories that go very far back to when I joined Subeta and discovered its battling system. I remember being proud of my pet reaching 100 stats, getting 300 wins on Willowisp, competing on the small opponents' highscore lists in 1P monthly events we used to have with and others. For most of my newbie time, I kept thinking that battling just had to be SO cool when you're at the top.
Turns out : I was terribly wrong. High end battling essentially means you're gowing to crush everything by blowing air at it. Any new super strong challenger that comes out ever really takes a couple hours to max. That's how unexciting the challenges Subeta creates for the general battle community are for top battlers. So, the challenges you set for yourself naturally switch, because you still love battling, just not in the casual way everyone else does. 10 wins doesn't cut it, it becomes other things like optimizing your stats to figure out the best build, and try all kind of wicked strategies to beat the impossible guy 30 times, getting your hands on the top weapons, that happen to be eight times as expensive as weapons that do essentially the same thing, but who cares, no one else has them and you do. You're going where very few people have been before.
Training forever doesn't mean you're going to constitently hit 10k in single hits ever or become a US military tank when it comes to defense. Strength and defense formulas are built so that pets cannot get too strong anyway, every stat you get means less and less, and eventually getting 1K stats means as little as getting 100 stats for smaller pets. Even healing is capped so you're not going to be able to turtle damage past some point. But there's friendly competition at the top, you really aren't bothering anybody, and please don't you give me bosses that happen once a year as an argument against that. It takes several hours on end to get a spot on the highscore and get 10M+ damage in, and several people with not top notch pets have made it by just being very dedicated and battling for 12 hours straight.
We've been playing catch up long enough. They caught up, now set us free.
(Because text affects the width of your signature, we suggest testing with all text removed to be sure your width is correct.)
as i have stated it give us the chance to do our builds as we like and not have all identical pets.
if i have more strength and speed i need less health and defense if i have more health and strength i need less speed and defense if i have super health i need less of all others
so on i hope i worded it right for you to understand it.
as for hard cap i do NOT have the choice but to have high health as the option so does every other player and in the end you have every pet looking and acting identical.
is this what you want if so then my time here is coming to the [end game]
Live your Life to the fullest cause you never know what will happen tomorrow......
I hate the event bosses, I wouldn't point to them as anything other than horrible design :P
I see what you're saying, though. It does suck for the people who are the most invested in battle to be stuck in place while we try and let every else catch up.
Would a good / fun / interesting at least temporary thing be for us to finally release a tool for you to reset / reallocate your stats? We've also got the "new" battle quests ready to go, they just haven't been pushed (I want more prizes).

I think it's incredibly complicated for a new user to pick up and learn how to get past the first few opponents, what weapons are useful, and how to quickly move up through the ranks.
With PvP I think that the system is too simple. There are a few weapons that everyone would use (the same weapons we know everyone uses so we build challengers around them) and considering a lot of pets are taught to stat in the same way I just don't think there'd be any skill / real challenge involved.
I think you can have both ;)
