But by releasing the higher crystals, a user could easily customize a weapon that blocks 60 ice originally, into a weapon that blocks 90 ice, making it more of that demi-god someone wants, but can't afford the real thing cuz no sellers.

Would the higher crystals not level the playing field or allow strategy to take place?

-raises hand- This is why I'm biased in my support for tiers. I honestly never paid any attention to battling prior to tiers, other than training Elfric for shits and giggles; I never had the right weapons, so I seldom ever battled.

But when tiers were introduced, thus classifying El as aT4, it actually encouraged me to keep going.

All of that training I did for funsies was actually paying off.

Moving on, it's all making sense: the cap is older than the tiers, and perhaps that's why the cap no longer works like it was intended to. Without tiers, the cap would have sufficed. But now it doesn't, and as a result, something has to give.

you can't agree with tiers and then ask for super strong mods that make weapons jump tiers, that's like asking to use strong weapons with your weak pet.

When did this chat get sidetracked from more stats to defeat baenwurath to mods to beat baenwurath ? what's so good about this challenger anyway? no one dares going past 5 wins and the weapon you get from him is useless. Yet it seems to be the root of all evil.

People have defeated the castle with all kinds of builds and weapons. Don't be lazy, don't be cheap, because 5 tries and a 50m set won't cut it doesn't mean it's not doable, it also doesn't mean we need to introduce super OP artefacts to do it.

Who the hell uses a 50m set against Baen? xD Higher mod crystals would give us the god weapons that otherwise can't be obtained anymore because a.) no sellers and b.) small supply, too high demand, equals c.) ridiculously overpriced that no one would be crazy enough to buy.

Higher crystals would solve one aspect of the godlies problem. But that's another can of worms.

We have gotten sidetracked, yes, but everything kind of interconnects, so it was bound to happen. =/

If the cap cannot be changed, then a stat redistribution system needs to be implemented, where it is only available to capped pets. Anyone without capped pets needs to be aware of what's going on and planning their builds ahead of time.

I'm not saying I agree with it, because mostly I don't, it would make way for far too ridiculous weapon possibilities. But it is generally why people would want something like that. No one dares go past 5 wins because they literally can't get to 10. It's basically the only opponent like that. I think the best solution is simply to raise the cap too fix the obvious oversight/mistake of making baenwurath literally impossible to get 10 wins on without exactly the right weapons adn then not to make that mistake again. Still make stupid difficult challengers but pay more attention to their icon typings and whatnot so they're possible to beat 10x+ without a godly that only ~20 people have. No one minds having to take tons of losses to beat an opponent, most who have 5-10 meatslab wins and 5+ baenwurath wins have taken plenty. It's about literally not being able to win when there ought to be a means other than borrowing OStaff. Also there needs to be lesser but still viable alternatives, and this is obviously something that's being worked on as seen from the direction recent weapon releases are headed.

Cap is newer than the tiers - right?

Also I am pretty sure you don't need exclusive gods for Baenwurath. I think Natasha was pretty crucial in my strategy and the OHS is probably good. Honestly I think I did Trident+Natasha but I can't be sure. Both pretty attainable.

[edit] Oh and I just mean 5 wins. I don't really see why anyone NEEDS to get 10 wins, it's a challenge available but who cares if you can't do it?

I know you do want to win bad, which is why I always wondered about why your pet had the most suicidal build ever, as if you were trying to shoot yourself in the face with a rocketlauncher, and then head to battle

However, what's the point of just giving it to you? They're not gonna release god weapons for free just because you want to win effortlessly.

Why couldn't the cap just be raised ? All your other suggestiosn would unbalance other critical parts of battling, raising the cap does not.

1st of all i had my build long before cap when cap was mentioned i worked on health as much as i could the build was for boss battles only where you die anyways. and for this build i became the smallest health pet to beat Prodigy before i got beat by someone with higher intel. The cap killed my pet not the build.

ps let them open pvp take out god use and i will show you what my pet can do

If you move the cap, and are worried about the amount of EXP capped pets have accumulated...why not introduce a 'stat redistribution' system that also requires EXP?

Say Elfric (T11) had 100k EXP hoarded. And I want to reduce his speed stat while increase his health at the same time. For 15k EXP, I could trade 12 speed points and convert it into 10 HPs. (since HPs is the more expensive stat, you have to sacrifice an extra small amount of spd/str/def points)

About the exp, is it a good idea to give the option to buy hard battle tokens with them? This way, capped pets can actually use their exp instead having them sit around (forever?) or being wiped out without any compensation if there's a global exp reset for capped pets due to unforeseen changes.

Heck, I'd be fine with having to pay a premium in EXP costs just for reducing stats and nothing else. That would sure as heck be a way to both get EXP out of the system AND allow for stat redistribution without making things too unbalanced.

I think people have enough xp stored up that it would essentially be like a free restatting lol. I wouldn't mind seeing it added as an option after the cap is raised and people people start to hit the new cap, but right now it'd be too much of a free pass IMO.

At the 7500 EXP cost I had in mind, that would actually be more than you think. Heck, that would be over 5M to get UltimateFriend down to 3001 speed (which she doesn't even have 700K yet).

7.5k is far more than I would expect :O I assumed the thinking was more along the line of near the xp costs of stats. That seems better to me, and I think I'd take advantage of it as well.

After swallowing the bitter tasting medicine (known as the cap) the sugar to make the medicine go down (being told of stat allocation and future cap raise) didn't happen. Even though I am intrigued by the idea, it would be a terrible irony. Something about using my hard earned exp, saved up to better my pet just to downgrade him so I can get level or reallocate stats rubs me the wrong way.
