If you care about saving galleries: There have been over a thousand posts between the news item announcing the change to the galleries, and the thread in the Site Feedback forum discussing the change. Despite that volume of feedback, staff responses have indicated only vague willingness to tweak changes -- with no firm commitments -- but no agreement to scuttle, or at least delay, this awful plan. Sadly, it's clear that we now have to channel our voices in more urgent ways.

If you don't care about saving galleries: That's fine! One of the great things about Subeta is that there are lots of things to do here besides collecting! But the site owner made a firm commitment last June not to limit the size of galleries and, just ten months later, is reneging on that commitment. You should be concerned about that, because next time it could be your favorite feature on the chopping block.

We are asking you to do two things (and they're easy!)

1. Sign the petition at change.org. Over two dozen of your Subeta friends have already signed it -- which isn't much yet, and that's why we need your voice. We believe the petition is fair and polite.

2. Refrain from logging into Subeta on April 15. We hope that a visible, but peaceful, show of solidarity will remind the site owner and administrators of the seriousness with which we take this matter, and serve as a warning of the potential loss of discouraged members who lose enjoyment for the site.

Did you know that between 2012 and 2015, the site expanded by 14,264 users per year, but only by 9,746 users between 2015 and 2016? Did you also know that between 2012 and today, the number of pets on the site has grown by 49%, but the number of unique items has grown by 91%; or that only two new pet species (the Neela and the Noktoa) have been introduced since 2011? [Thanks to archive.org for help with these facts.] These indicate that Subeta has been undergoing a shift from a pet-oriented site to an item-oriented site, and the proposed change is an affront to members who have supported that shift.

Signed! My gallery and building it up toward achievements is honestly the only thing that keeps me coming back to Subeta after random hiatuses. If it wasn't tied to the shop system, it would use notably less room on the servers. I've never understood why the galleries had all the same options as shops anyway when they weren't used for such. I just want a place to show off the beautiful items I've collected over the many years I've been here. Honestly this would probably be a game-changer for me like some things Neopets and Gaia did years back, and that makes me extremely sad after the crazy amount of time I've put in over here as well as the bits of money here and there. Two weeks for notice also feels like a stab in the back after past statements about keeping our galleries safe. =C

I don't have much of a gallery not having had an interest in saving anything in particular however I feel sorry for the people that do. A lot of real money has gone into this site from these same people who buy things for their gallery.

I realize Subeta is concerned about the amount of data on the site and 502/lags and feel like taking this drastic step however wish this would be thought out a little more and maybe try to find some alternative way?

Sure.. cut some of the shops and even the number of identical things.. when you see a shop with 350-550 of the same item isn't that using a lot of data? (no offense to anyone with that shop.. I am simply comparing it to attempt to save the galleries which I think might be more important to most people).

In summary... I agree to attempt to save the galleries though cutting the achievements for large ones may help. Perhaps allow simply one without a limit for every player?

I'm in and ai signed the petition. As evidenced by my two comments in the News Post, my feeling is that if they have to make these changes to shops and galleries to improve Subeta, then they need to find a way for us to be able to sign up to have our full galleries 'ported' over to the new galleries and keep the size the same. Nuff Said.

I dont want to have to re-organzie my holiday/event gallery. Im not even done with the things I got from this years Masquerade!

Id need at least 5 seperate galleries to sort all of those things into, leaving me with one I can use for my actual shop (if they keep the 1k limit for GA galleries)
