Petition signed. I will have to put it on my calendar for the 15th as I don't usually log off. (actually it's tempting to check Subeta on Friday just to see how few people are on)

No problem, I will have no way to get online on that day. Totally not happy, I use my hoard gallery for the unique hoard achievement, that they are retiring and recycle.

In case any of you haven't seen this.

Signed this the other day, whether Subeta staff cares or not, I signed it. I haven't been on much lately as it is, since the announcement of the new shoos/gallery so not logging in on the 15th will be easy.

I know it would be extra coding work, but if possible, I would love to see the galleries separated from the user shops. They're for completely different purposes, so although I understand that they're coded more or less identically, it would be ideal if they were separated. I know I can hoard holiday and event items in my vault, but it's not nearly as satisfying. I want to be able to show off what I've collected. I want to see what the actual limits will be for the shops/galleries, so I'm withholding final judgment.
Not sure if any of you want to weigh in. I know some of you have strong opinions about the new shop/gallery system.
Like, I'm pretty sure they're doing this because the current code for galleries is crap and can't support the load, so they're moving over to a new code. That's not an awful plan and it can't be replaced with 'buy new servers' because server space isn't the problem, coding is.
I'm upset about the limit myself - I casually collect minions and now I need to decide if I want to cull my least favorites out of a 10 page gallery or save stuff in my vault. But I really do think they'll raise the cap quickly and dramatically once things are under way, and I don't think insulting the staff over a code thing they need to do dramatic things to fix is helping much?
I signed. In addition to the gallery issue is the Hoarder, I was only 200 items away when they changed the achievement years ago. I was upset then but vowed to make it finally to the new ones but I am still too far away to have it completed once again.
Oh, my. I was hoping for April 15 to be voluntary for people -- but I hope the circumstances that will keep you offline that day are happy ones!
: I wish you both great success in your scavenging endeavors.
Only here since I was pinged by a fellow sharky. I know Keith and the rest of his staff would never do anything to intentionally spite the players or sabotage the site. This new shop/gallery coding could turn out to be completely different after they get the results from testing. I'm willing to give them a chance to fix the site for all of us to enjoy. I too am withholding final judgement until the new system is settled in.
You bet, I am traveling to Egypt for vacation.
That ROCKS! Say "Marhaba!" to the people for me and have fun!
I will going to visit my in laws that all live in Cairo.
I might just totally forget to check in XD. All depends on what Im doing

I agree with the few on here that have opted to reserve judgement. They're in a testing phase right now and it's too soon to tell what the new shops will be able to actually do or how they can help. I read the petition and I think it's a bit unfair to quote only part of a news post- because they did state that they will be raising the limits they've put on- but they wanted to start out small to make sure everything ran smoothly, this is smarter than you think. They can't take the site down completely and rework it over a weeks time and then come back online without serious repercussions. The fact that they still have loyal users after all the errors over the last several weeks is a miracle in and of itself. Not many sites can claim to have such a strong user base.
The fact is, that the site is veering from being a pet site, to being an avatar site- not so much simply items. It's about the HAs. Ever since custom wearables, the site has changed its focus and while pets are still important, they are no longer what draws people to the site nor what people feed their money into it for; it's about the HAs, whether custom wearables or regular wears (thru normal shops or the CS shop). So yes, the focus is to make sure the items on site aren't clogging up the server and causing errors- if this is due to too much load on the server via shops- then I welcome the change.
However- I do agree wholeheartedly that the galleries should not be the same as shops and if anything, they should change the coding entirely to allow you simply to add something to a gallery (and remove it later if you want to) and leave it at that. No pricing tabs, nothing to do with selling at all- just showing off the items. So hopefully, if the change to the coding works, they can get the galleries to a better place that there won't need to be limits on them.
Baby steps imo.
This is sorta like ripping off a band-aid- it has to be done quick to lessen the pain. It sucks- but it'll get better.
