What We Expect of Our Members
We expect our members to be active and participate within the group (and we have several ways to participate: KS forums, Discord chat and this thread!) when they are active on the site. If you cannot be active on the site due to whatever reason just let us know, that way we don't think you've forgotten us! And that is it! (Aside from following all Subeta and Group Rules 😉 ) We are what our members make us, and we have something for everyone (if we don't we'll make it if our members ask for it!).
Meet the KS Leadership Team
Owner/Admin: Indispensable Mods:
Our much beloved friend and co-owner Innerflame passed away on August 1, 2013. We would not be a group at all without all of the dedication she put into building our community. She was a kind and beautiful soul and we will miss her greatly ❤
If you wish to speak to any of us, feel free to ping us here, or use our Staff Ping group and whoever is online at the time will be happy to answer any questions you have. Also, all of our members may take up leadership roles as needed to help run games or give their input into what we do. We're a democracy (mostly) not a dictatorship 😉 If we sound like the group for you please fill out this brief questionnaire (please remember to copy the ping group for our staff!) and hang around here for a little bit and chat with our current members 😄 As soon as a member of staff gets online we can send you an invite to the group!
Kindred Spirits is always accepting age 18+ players who are already involved in other groups - specific focus or general/social. The main thing is that when you join KS you spend some time with us, because if you're going to join and spend no time getting to know us or playing/chatting with us, there is no point in being a member.
Questionaire
Do you prefer to be called by your username or another name? Have you had any other usernames prior to this one?
What are your interests on Subeta? (Human Avatars/Pets/Battle/Restocking etc. )
How often do you play on site and will you be active within the group?
Why are you interested in joining Kindred Spirits? Are you currently in any other groups?
Tell us a bit about you! (This doesn't have to be lengthy or detailed you can save that for your introduction in the group! Think of this as an ice breaker question. )
We hit the new lower limit again so we've got a Brand Spankin' New Thread again. Come Chat!
“Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” - Benjamin Franklin
"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the orphan." - Isaiah 10:1-2
New smells so good doesn't it :D
I'm so glad you happened to ping me in your post otherwise it could have been awhile before I knew to make a new thread!
Feel free to hang out and chat before you join and fill out the questionaire and join at any time. We have a few challenges run by gryphongrl only accessible through the group but we do the majority of our chatting here.

OH! NEW THREAD SMELL! WOOT!
- HI! WELCOME TO KINDRED SPIRITS. :)
- THANK YOU FOR ADDING THE NAME OF THE PLAY. I COULD NOT REMEMBER IT FOR THE LIFE OF ME. MY FAVORITE VERSION OF HER PLOT WAS DONE ON FAMLY GUY. I LOVED IT.
- LOL! THEN I'D STILL BE OFFLINE.NO, THE EVIL OVERLORD WOULDN'T MOVE MY LAPTOP FROM THE KITCHEN TABLE TO THE BEDROOM BECAUSE HE REFUSED TO UNHOOK ALL THE PERIPHERALS. PURE LAZINESS ON HIS PART. SO I THREW A HISSY AND NOW HE HELPS ME TO THE KITCHEN.
- THE CLOWN DID IT. I DON'T CARE IF HE WASN'T THE REAL KILLER, HE STILL DID IT. I'VE FOUND THAT SINCE I'M IN THE KITCHEN WHILE ON THE LAPTOP I TEND TO SNACK MOREAND IT TENDS TO BE WHAT EVER IS EASIEST TO GRAB. NOT A GOOD HABIT BECAUSE IT'S BOREDOME EATING. I'VE ALSO FOUND THAT I EAT TO STAY AWAKE. IF I'M LISTENING TO A GOOD STORY BUT FALLING ASLEEP, I'LL GRAB A SNACK. NOT A GOOD THING TO DO EITHER.AS FOR CARBS, I KNOW WE NEED THEM BUT WHERE'S THE LINE? IT'S DIFFICULT TO FIGURE OUT BECAUSE THERE'S A LOT OF CONFLICTING INFO ONLINE. :)
- THOSE 2 MOVIES, WERE THEY ON NETFLIX OR ANOTHER SERVICE? - HAPPY WEDNESDAY TO YOU. I HOPE YOU'RE DOING WELL. :d
Hi, did you accidentally press caps lock on your keyboard?
[tot=PiplupMagby34]
- oh lord, i'm yelling at everyone again...lol thank you for letting me know. i have no idea when it was turned on so i apologize to everyone i've been yelling at. sorry! :D
Daniel Isn't Real and The Alpines were on Amazon Prime.
Thanks for the new board! :)
My wife and I mostly eat eggs, meat, and cheese, very low carb, no sugar. Technically we don't need carbs at all. The trick is to make sure you're eating GOOD carbs. Also, we do intermittent fasting, and we only eat two meals a day. We eat lunch at noon, supper is usually around 5PM, and then we don't eat again until noon the next day.
I believe the story of the play was more complicated than that. there were actually several people who wanted to kill everyone. It involved a big inheritance that needed to be divided, so all the family members had a motive to kill the others. I believe the lawyer was plotting to kill everyone with his boyfriend (who was disguised as the clown) so they could take the inheritance for themselves, and they involved the lawyer's secretary (played by me) in the plan, but they were planning on finishing her off at the end. The servants turned out te be a long lost niece and nephew who were also after the inheritance. They were the two that survived, although they didn't kill everyone themselves.
During the intermission only two people had been killed, and the audience could participate in a contest predicting who would be killing who during the second halve. Nobody got it completely right in the four performances that we did.
What kind of doll are you making? I wish I could crochet, but I just don't have the patience for it...
Hi! Nice to meet you! welcome to KS :)
Thanks all for the warm welcomes! I've got a busy day at work today, but I'm having a hard time getting started. So here I am on Subeta. :]
- oh, goodie! that means i can listen to it on my amazon alexa.
- now, murderous clowns aside, that sounds pretty interesting. what's the title of it again. do you know if it has a us counterpart?
- i hope your eyes start feeling better.hugs :)
- oh. my. word. how ever do you survive? no carbs at all or just the right carbs? if just the right carbs, what are the right carbs?your meal times are a bit close for me, too. i eat breakfast/lunch between 10 and 11 am. i eat dinner between 8 and 9 pm. so, like you, only 2 meals but further apart. do you have a dietician or did you figure this diet out yourself? - happy tthursday to you! i hope everything is going well with you. hugs :)
Subeta is great for procrastinating :)
So there was no inspection today as this is the first year our house wasn't picked for inspection.
I finally called my dermatologist today as there's something on my back that now doesn't drain (I think it's a cyst). That's how I kept it under control for years. To add an extra level of weirdness there is something growing on the first something on my back. The earliest appointment I could get is February 8th. Hopefully I'm not harboring an alien on my back O.O'
It's called "Tiptoe through the tombstones", written by Norma Robbins. We had some English majors translate it to Dutch for us. I'm not sure if it's still performed a lot because I believe it's an old play.
What's the balance of fats, proteins and carbs you stick to? I eat two meals a day on most days. I have lunch around 12 and then dinner around 7. I try not to eat after that. But I'm not strictly adhering to intermittent fasting anymore, because it didn't seem to do a lot for me. Occasionally I feel like eating something for breakfast, so with my current diet I'll have some broth or if I'm more hungry a bit of greek yoghurt. I try to eat stuff with less carbs, but I still allow myself some fruit and bread or rice or potato every day. I just try to eat less of those. For now, I'm aiming to eat 1500 calories a day, which is working fine as long as I don't go to a restaurant. Now that we're out of lockdown, I'll have to allow myself some cheat days because much of my social life is somehow based around food and eating out. I'll try to eat a bit less on days I know I'll be going out, but I probably still won't be under 1500 calories on those days. Or maybe I'll go OMAD on these days.. not sure yet.
That back thing sounds scary! I hope it quickly gets diagnosed after your appointment.
We follow a Canadian doctor by the name of Tony Martin. He runs the Martin Clinic in Sudbury, Ontario. His private FB group is amazing.
The following info is an example of what we eat for healthy carbs,,,,
Bell peppers Bell peppers are anti-inflammatory and high in vitamins A and C. They contain 6 grams of digestible (net) carbs per serving.
Broccoli Broccoli is a true superfood. Broccoli contains 4 grams of digestible carbs per serving. It’s high in vitamins C and K and may reduce insulin resistance and help prevent cancer.
Asparagus Asparagus contains 4 grams of digestible carbs per serving. It’s a good source of several vitamins and may help protect against certain types of cancer.
Mushrooms Mushrooms contain 1 gram of digestible carbs per serving. They can reduce inflammation in people with metabolic syndrome.
Zucchini Zucchini and other types of summer squash contain 3 grams of digestible carbs per serving and are high in vitamin C.
Cauliflower Cauliflower contains 2 grams of digestible carbs per serving. It is also high in vitamins K and C and may help prevent heart disease and cancer.
We don't eat bread, no potatoes, no rice, no pasta, no sugar.
We do have occasional treat days where we'll make french fries in our air fryer, or we might buy donuts.
We don't track our macros any more since we're not strictly keto. We also don't count calories; our bodies know when we've consumed enough. A typical lunch for me is as follows: 3 fried eggs, 4 breakfast sausages, some canned tuna or salmon, and a good-sized slice of cheddar cheese. Dinner might be a steak with cheese melted on top, with some fried mushrooms on the side.
- i hope it's just a blemish and not the first of our alien overlords ...XD
- i'll look for a us version. it's a good concept so i doubt the us entertainment industry left it alone. you sound like you're doing well on your diet. that's awesome! some restaurants over here have started to ad healthy choices to their menus. perhaps that trend has come your way and eating out won't be too bad. :)
papageno - how long have you been on the diet? you don't have to answer this but do you have any serious health problems like diabetes or heart disease? my cardiologist told me to stop eating red meat and cheese. how does dr martin address this issue?
- happy friday! i hope your week was good. :D
I'll put in a good word for you if it is the first of our alien overlords :)
Thank you :)
Still alive! Been busy and had not had time to come here properly.
-reads back on old and new board-
Not really hungry with bypass, i feel it but i eat small portions and multiple times a day. I am full fast and can't drink and eat togheter, need 30 minutes in between. And the surgery took a while to get and my mind was ready for it and mw to. If they feel you are not ready, etc they won't go trough. And not complicated when you have diabetes, etc you have to change your food and mind before you can have the surgery.
Dinner with mom was fine, this was not really a tapas bar more small portions so you can try multiple items. It was nice and my mom enjoyed it and that was what i wanted. Will bring her flowers on her birthday, this tuesday after work.
Saturday and weekend off so... My bed is nice and clean with fresh sheets, the kitty litters are clean, did 2 washing loads, wrote some cards (not done yet) and in a few i am taking out the trash and go to the supermarket
