- from an ancestry.com dna test that i took to find out what my heritage is since i didn't believe what my adoptive mother told me. Good thing, too, as she only had half the story. lol she always told me that i'm irish/welsh. turns out there's very little irish/welsh in me. according to the test i'm 30% ukranian, 21% english, and 19% scottish. the remaining 30% is various bits of northwestern europe. as for finding my dad, that was a complete surprise. what i didn't know about the test is that they compare your dna to all the millions that have already been sent in. then they give you a list of people that you share dna with. there, on the top of the list, was n unknown man marked as sharing 50% dna with me. i messaged him and we've compared notes. he is definitely my biological dad. he knew things about the adoption i hadn't told anyone. we've been talking for the past week and he seems to be a pretty nice guy. Oh, and he lives in new york city which isn't very close to me, maybe 400 miles? I never checked. lol 😂

- it certainly has been overwhelming. it still hasn't sunk in and probably won't for a while. :D

Had done a Malwarebytes scan and looking everything over I noticed the rootkit area was greyed out and I panicked for a moment and looked it up and found that they also have Rootkit Scanner so I downloaded it, ran it and low and behold they found one. So now from time to time I'm going to run a scan for that as well. Now I hope I'm safe.

They do seem to be getting better at being sneaky to find a way into your computer. Glad you've managed to deal with it and hopefully those scans will keep them from doing any harm in the future.

But 2 new wrinkles, Windows is now acting like Google wanting me to add things to my phones = no, plus they have added OneDrive that allows Google to see your files = no. Don't believe in syncing the 2, only allows hackers immediate free range. Next I have an "untrusted virtual network" that has attached itself to mine but I've at least seen to it that Windows firewall determines what they are allowed. I guess.

We are getting a lot of wild fire smoke here in the valley again. My eyes are burning, but I got the new games up. Poor Loki's eyes are watering a lot. Not sure if it is the smoke, pain, or the pinched lacrimal nerve. Turned up the air purifier.

Survived work yesterday.. not all where friendly and i got ignored. I am trying to enjoy my last 3 weeks there and be the bigger person but it's hard

Thank you, and I found the tv stealing Wifi from me, just finally managed to identify the SmartTV of the two listed, 1 being mine - the other I deleted from my devices and now my TV doesn't buffer nor does it cut out of paid programing for me to have to go back and get again.

- vacation always goes so fast! do you think you'll make it through your last 3 weeks there without incident?i'm not sure i could keep quiet under the circumstances.:)

- i switched browsers from chrome to edge and have found things are actually running better. have you tried edge? :)

I use Firefox.

I tend to only use Chrome to test if the problem is a site or the browser.

So I haven't tried Edge yet. Used Safari a few times.

But ever since Brian upgraded the computer Chrome likes to randomly come on in the background.

not sure if i will hold on these last few weeks.. But i will not let them pull me down, etc.

On a happier note, just got my contract in my mailbox! Signed it and going to post it in a few minutes! Can;t wait to start, is it october 1st yet?
