at least it's all in the open now. I hope you will have a few good last week's ahead!
Good morning. I recently joined Kindred :) I won't be on much today because I errands to do for my husband, who will be working from home soon. I got to get the home office up and running for the change.
hi! Good evening from here in the netherlands!
VIP program is back! Went for a random new one... So far i got a worm...
And I hope to i have a few good last weeks at my job, still need to tell the residents not sure when and why… I got la little gift for my co-workers when I leave. A wooden good luck clover they can put on their keychain, etc. Not sure if I want to give the residents something… over 30….
Just saw my email and sheldue off current work. I was granted free the last week of march and the weekend before so i can settle down and relax before i start my new job. Last day is march 25 and with a day shift.
- ever consider staying at home and homeschooling your son? you could even work from home and still homeschool. you have a skill set that's in demand. you just have to find the right companies. if you lived over here i'd say try a job earch site like careerbuilder or opendoor. i don't know if they service your country but you must have something like them. don't settle, you'll be miserable. i have faith the right job will pop up when you least expect it. :D
- 64f and raining. i got wet going in and out of the doctor's office. hubby forgot the umbrella. lol the appointment went very well. now the pain in the left side of my lower back is just gone. i can feel the muscles tensing and cramping but i can't feel the pain and i can still walk. well, walk is a marginal term since they gave me medicine to make me derpy before the proceedure. now i walk like a drunk and i didn't even get any ale. :( aside from that (it'll wear off) i'm elated with the outcome. :Dwhy did you change your forum title? you want another pet slot? :)
- where are you? stop hiding from the kisses. :D
Hi again all :) I got a few of the errands done, but the rest can wait until the weekend. Tomorrow it will be cold, so I'll be inside more with the kiddo. Now I need to find a way to keep him somewhat busy for awhile.
I saw that the viruses are up again and I went with an older one, Bindi Bite.
Hi! How are you doing?
Yes! Need more strains =D
I do what I want O.O'
hmmm no fun weather where you are. We have sun today! Oh hope the meds where off soon, no fun feeling like a drunk. You be carefull!
I changed my forum title to a pandamic one, this is one you can get. Don't want a pet slot, i have enough.
i am fine, you?
me to! Just my 2nd pandemic.
I think a few years I didn't bother trying to get new strains or else I was on hiatus.
I was here during the first survival.
I finally signed up for one of the strains! I wonder what I will look like
I think going to school is much better for my son because he's an only child and will need to learn to deal with other children. Also home schooling in the Netherlands is not really a thing so I would have no idea how to approach that and if it's even allowed by our version of childcare services.
Good to hear your doctors appointment went well, and the pain is gone!
finally, sun! I took a walk during my lunch break to get some extra sunlight. It was very nice :)
yay for the sun! My washings are outside in the sun! Loving it.
Oh i am at stage 3 of my virus... gummi bears and worms.... and i like eating those... wonder what will happen..
I'm doing good. I talked to my husband earlier and he said the roads are pretty bad since we are having some bad weather at the moment. He'll be home soon though as long as nothing happens.
- a woman after my own heart! :D the first survival was soooooo much fun. i loved it. this managed way of things is just not right.
- it's a survival title? what do i have to do to get it? must be from a survival i missed. i'm glad you've got some sun. we're back to sunny also. temp arount 65f :D medicine has worn off and everythings good. still no pain. it's amazing.:D
- hi! welcome to kindred! i hope your hubby makes it home ok. :D
He did make it home safely and with lunch haha. It is only getting worse on the roads according to him, so I'm glad he is home now. He'll be home from now on since he is switching to another job and will be working from home for awhile.
- i'm glad he's safe, and he brought lunch too! that's a keeper. :D is he excited or relieved to be working from home? i'm sorry the weather stinks where you are. i'll send you some sun. :D
- i completely forgot to anser you. i think i'm still a little derpy. :joy i didn't know your country's stance on homeschooling as it's different everywhere. it's forbidden in germany, for example.i find it interesting that the one reason almost always given, whether here in the usa or elsewhere, is socialization.kids who are homeschooled do have ways of socializing. it's just not in a school. lol :D to be honest, i have 4 kids who went to brick and mortar schools and one that's completely homeschooled and i see no difference in their level of socialization.i respect your views as it's not for everyone. my youngest is completely homeschooled because, as my hubby put it, the cord was never cut. lol :laughing i'm very happy the pain is gone too. 7 years of agony is just gone. it's amazing. if i could do cartwheels, i would. i do have a question ... i'd like a non-usa opinion. what do you think of the events regarding the ukraine and russia? is russia serious?
I looked it up after replying to your answer and homeschooling is illegal here as well. Didn't even know that. To me it's not just about socialization, but also I think I'm maybe not the best teacher. I should still have more than enough knowledge to make it through elementary school and most of high school. Although I don't remember a whole lot about the last few years of chemistry. But my ability to explain stuff, and to create a day to day schedule may not be the best.
That's a serious question about Russia. Let me start by stating I believe none of us are getting the complete information on the situation. I have the feeling that news reporting has become increasingly political over here since Covid. There's a Dutch night show (a bit comparable to John Oliver) that's warning us that the third world war may break out over this. I hope it won't be that serious, but I think there will be some fighting and intimidation for sure. I don't fully understand Putin's motives, because I feel that we're getting very western centered reports on this. The Dutch people that I spoke to about this topic don't seem too concerned yet, because most of us feel this won't impact us directly (yet).
I bet it's nice to have your husband home more often!
- yeah, the elementary years were easy and the high school ones more difficult. it got so frustrating at one point i just closed the books and looked at my son and asked him what he wanted to learn.(there are a lot of approaches to homeschooling from a traditional school like experience to a one where the child just does what he wants. i don't ascribe to the latter but don't do the former. i'm in between.) he told me what he wanted to learn and we moved on from there. surprisingly, he picked good things such as language arts, algebra, biology, history, computer coding, and guitar. he's doing well in all of them. :D i'm curious as to why it's illegal there. i'll look it up. :) hmmmm, i'm with you on the russia stuff. i don't think we're getting the full story and that's going to be a problemover here. people here are polarizing (that's what we do best lol) along scary lines. one side is calling putin a genius and the other is afraid russia is going to invade the ukraine, then europe, then us. it's nuts. i wish i could get some news that wasn't spun. ugh.
hope your hubby came home safe.
wrong it;'s from the dance, i got denied a dance and then you get it. Seems i don't have a pandamic title... yet
i woke up to see what russia did, had to go to work and did not see any news until now... I am shocked what russia did.
- oh, ok. i looked and i've got it. didn't realise it. lol i've been listening to the news all morning. i'm worried about yu and lone's family. my heart goes out to the ukrainians. estonia, latvia, lithuania, poland, and romania are all activating article 5 of the un treaty. and i have no idea what the us is going to do. president is supposedly giving a speaech sometime now. news says we're going to enforce severe sanctions but we already had severe sanctions in place and it did nothing to deter putin. he continued to lie to our faces while preparing to do exactly what he wanted regardless of any kind of response. on another note, i read you got your vacation time. that's awesome! any plans? :D
