Seeing as you can't comment on the news post, here's the next best place. Why are you taking coupons away? There won't be any kind of thank you at all anymore for buying credits? The coupons were a nice break and helped a bit, but this isn't even happening now? I don't understand why the site's getting so cheap. It was one thing that I actually appreciated that staff did here as it was a lovely thing to do. No other site offered appreciation for site support to players by giving them a discount on cash items except Subeta. Now you're taking that away? That's very disappointing. You ask us to help support the site, but now the discount thank you is gone. The poles don't meet at all. Poor call, Subeta.

I was wondering when this would come up.
I totally agree. I don't see how giving users who buy larger quantities of CSC a bit of a discount is hurtful. It's a nice gesture and encourages people to buy more sometimes (I know I've spent more money than I was planning on spending at times precisely BECAUSE of this discount coupon, so I assume others have as well).
I don't like the direction in which things are going on this site. Too much emphasis on CS items lately. Yes, it's still a "free site" and no one is FORCED to pay to play, but I still don't like how much of the new fashion goes into the cash shop, and lately how the Neela is a CS item. These factors, combined with this taking away of the coupons, really disappoints me.
Yeah I'm not real sure about the details of what and why. It makes me very sad though :c The news post should be way more clear about the subject. But yeah I agree. Such a shame to do away with the coupons D: Pretty lame move if you ask me.
Look at this legit thread. OP is on the ball and is completely right. Taking away that tiny thank you for people who buy CSC in bulk is a huge kick in the face. Is there an issue with the coupons? Are they broken? Are people somehow abusing these? Or are you just trying to make as much money as possible? That's what I thought.
i don't understand either. there was rarely a time when i didn't buy csc in quantities of 2000 for the sheer reason that i knew i'd get the coupon code. even if i didn't have plans for the 2k csc, i went ahead and bought $20 bucks worth FOR that coupon code. no reason to do that now. i'll go back to buying $5 worth as i need it.
I like the thought of a CS pet but I don't like this sudden change of this site becoming more and more money-centered. The changes happening on Subeta are making me very sad. I'm with a lot of others who are disappointed at where this site seemingly is heading.
I'm not going to leave over this but it's sure gotten me hugely disappointed.
I actually tried redeeming a 20% off coupon code that was unused and it didn't work for me, so I guess, in a way, they are broken? XD LOL!
If they do bring coupons back, I hope it won't be in the same fashion as bank interest - where as everyone was forced to be content with a SUPER small interest...

So, in making decisions about how to make money for this site, is anyone weighing them with the desire to maintain a good reputation with users? I know the coupon codes really don't save all that much CSC but it was just a nice thing subeta did to encourage people to buy more. I know that there were times I was considering buying fewer CSC but went for the $20 because at least I'd get the coupon.
Like, what sort of business acumen goes into deciding to do away with a little bit of good will, amidst an obvious push toward making this site more about the paid features? I mean, I assume someone realized this was a shitty move, since comments were turned off...
Was thinking the same thing in regards to them disabling comments. I bought the $50 option as I got the 20% off coupon...

This is a bummer, I'm glad I went ahead and bought 4.5k CSC when I did so that I could get the coupon. I wonder why they're doing this ?
I'm still not sure how to feel about this. On one side, I totally understand their decision. You can't keep giving free CSC till infinity with our purchases, it must be weighing on their income somehow. On the other side, it was a nice bonus. Many times I've only needed a bit of CSC, and ended up buying 50 dollars worth because I'd get the highest coupon. If I will still be buying the highest amount every time, I don't know. Maybe I will, because I'll still be buying the CS items, but maybe I won't, and just be buying the minimum amount I need for a specific CS item. Only time will tell.
I do can say, that my future CS purchases will likely be linked to the site performance. If they theoretically get more money in by removing the coupons, I'd definitely like to see the site improving from it (less lag, less downtime, better/more servers, recode, etc). Also, the way they work lately, with the exclusive items when buying with paypal etc, is definitely also an incentive to keep buying (unless that gets removed as well?).
tl;dr Sad news, but understandable.
WHAT coupons are ya'll talking about? I purchased 20 dollars worth of CSC in mid December and I did not get any coupons.
If you purchased them all at once, you should have gotten an email from subeta with a coupon code. Using that code in the cash shop (in the cart), gives you an extra % of discount on your next purchase.
oh I will have to check my email which I never do. Thank you for explaining to me.
Just to clarify, it would be in your sMail, not your email
And I was thinking that it had gotten into my spam folder and been deleted. However, I got nothing in my smail either.
Then it was probably a glitch. I don't know if you can still report it, but maybe file a ticket. (The coupon code is really only for 5% so it's up to you if that's worth it or not)
Thank you for the information. I guess it is not worth it anyways, right? Better employ my time stalking the free shop.
i didn't even know you got higher coupons for larger amounts, i thought you got the same no matter how much you bought $20 or more. i'm slow and now it doesn't matter.
this is really dumb though. and come on now. we've been on the site long enough to know that no matter how much money we pour in, it's never enough to make subeta run the way we want it to.
