UGH today has.. not been great.

The fridge isn't working. Like.. at all. The light turns on, the freezer is working.. fridge.. isn't working.

Like,.. so now everyone is in a bad mood. Except for Iz, ofc, because she slept through it. AND I need a new fridge. :/ This one is old old, it's probably time anyway but like.. arghhhhh.

I have Maytag everything now. I have had whirlpool, and I don't remember what else Frigidaire I think. But when we got all that money back during COVID we got all new appliances and since I couldn't find the ones I originally wanted we got all matching. I like them. Tho I didn't think I would at first because the fridge is all chrome and the stove is chrome too. And the fridge is one of those side by side double door fridge/freezer which I thought would give me less space but I think it's more. Just sometimes harder to get to everything because it's deeper

Also as to the title..I was at work and a kid walked in as I was creating it sooooo you get what you get

[edit] Ok so. I took my gift card I got from my dad up to the college to use at the bookstore. It declined it. I went to the website to see if maybe i just needed to activate it (even tho it said it was available for in store purchases and you only had to activate it for online purchases). Well I type in the card number, and it said "error please retype your card number" or some such thing like that. So tried 3x. Then called the 800 number on teh back of the card, they verified the card number and some off the barcode on the back. They then said my card was marked as invalidated. And they needed to send me a new card. But in order to get the new card, I am required to send THEM a valid government ID, and the front/back of the gift card to show proof of ownership and so they have my address on file to mail the new gift card to. She also gave me a CID number to write on the paper with the other stuff (another proof of ownership I guess). And told me to call back 3 days after I faxed them this info so they could tell me if they received it and when they would send me my new card. ??? Anyone ever had anything like this happen?

So anyway I used Nathans cash (which I borrowed in case I didn't have enough cash on me depending on how much the bookstore cost above the amount on the gift card) and paid for the cengage access card. Now I need to decide if I should follow the lady's instructions and hope to get a new card, or just be out $100. Ugh. I mean, it seems legit but its also weird. I don't know how else they would get proof of ownership of the gift card other than doing what they asked me to do either tho...soooo..... ?????????

Completely confused by my classes atm. But I know I'll sort it out soon. I did however already do my "introduction discussion threads" and my "syllabus quiz" in all 3 classes. Now its just to figure out exactly what I do next and when its due for all 3 classes lol

In reading through info last night I also discovered I have to take a CPR class for the 3rd class I'm in. So ... have to see if/when the school is doing one of those for PL and if I can do it that way, if not I'll have to find one that I can take on my own time afterschool and pay for it. sigh

I think it's always freaky to watch people give CPR, knowing that the compressions themselves can break/fracture a rib. I know how but have never gotten certified.

I don't envy you, Mieke, for having to look through the wide variety of fridges (or any other appliance) that is out there, these days. Too many are "smart" and have so much going on that you really don't even need. They just made them more gimmicky these days.

WTF, Kat!!! What kind of gift card is that b/c in all honesty, that sounds like a scam! Most cards are activated via phone IF it needs activated at all, which nowadays most don't. (I've gotten them for my girls in the past and I hate those types of cards. They're reusuable visa/mastercards and can be a pita to use. Why would you need to send them a copy of your gov't ID to get a new gift card resent?? That doesn't show or provide proof of purchase! I mean, gift cards don't have names attached to them so why do they need YOUR ID? ?? Doesn't your dad have the receipt?

It is a prepaid visa card. I have never had an issue in the past using those he's sent. I talked to Ryan about it he says he's seen on TikTok and stuff that there were cashier's pretending to scan and load the card and then pocketing the money ...so maybe that is what happened with mine. It does seem scam-mish but how else do they verify I am the person in possession of the card and have an address to send me a replacement card? My dad probably does have the receipt. But the kids cards worked fine (2 of 3 have been used toy knowledge with no issue). But I don't want to involve him init unless I have to as he is in Utah and I am in Ga and I think it would make it a bigger hassle. They aren't intending to activate this card. They need to "register" me as the owner and send a replacement card. I think my ID is a way for them to get a valid address to send the replacement card to But yea. It's all a bit weird. But I've never had this issue before so maybe it is procedure.

I don't really want to take CPR either but if it's required I will. I just wish I'd known because they offered CPR as a PL back in like Aug and I'm not sure about last week. I didn't see one listed upcoming but they might put one on the schedule later.

Oh, I've taken CPR classes before, a few times. I do wish the certifications lasted longer, though.

I had to do it when I was in HS still, because I was working in the college daycare for school credit twice a week.

And then I did infant CPR as well, when I did it. Then I kept having kids, so decided to reup and did them again :P

Then someone needed it for a church thing, and I volunteered because they paid for it, and it IS a good thing to have.

I should do it again though because at this point, I'd probably just panic and die :P

Got a new nail polish.. already had the other ones on my desk. THIS ONE is different, though! Well.. OK, one? or two of the otehr ones are thermals too, but this is a WINTER thermal, it changes at a lower temp. So it's that blue to silver. And I love it.

Oh that sounds like some interesting nail polish! I talked to the front office people at school they gave me the name of the person in charge of the nurses for all schools. Turns out there was THREE CPR classes last week 🙄 and of course I didn't know about them or the fact I needed it. So. Anyway. She told me she is doing another on Jan 27. So I signed up for that. Waiting to hear the times for in person part because part of it is online. Asking if there will be a cost as well. As far as I know this certification lasts 2yrs.

I did them again in a funky green color with ruby red gems and they looked great for a bit but the polish was terrible and didn't agree with the polygel.

Kat, I won't ask why you don't want to involve your dad but that whole thing sounds incredibly suspicious to me. I hope it works out for you but in the meantime, I suggest you really monitor any other bank or credit cards you have. One of my bank cards got a $1.00 fee added to it through a reputable site - some paytix site that you can pay tickets for - but my bank flagged it and I called them to say I've never used that before, don't have any tickets and agreed to have the card cancelled b/c that's an indicator of the start of cc theft. They make a small transaction, thinking you won't notice it, and when it goes through and is still valid, they wipe you out. (This just happened last month and while my bank caught it and sent me a text, I called and agreed to cancel my card to get a new one.) The number of scams going on is outrageous, especially around the holidays. I recently saw a video of a gas pump scam where there was a fake hose and while it looks like the meter is running (like you're getting gallons), you're not and your card is compromised! While the owner of the gas station has that occurrence on video, it goes to show that videos aren't watched until AFTER the fact (if they even have them) and that's only if it's reported before the station records over that video b/c in the IT world, space(memory) equals money and they don't keep digital storage for long. It definitely has me looking up at the connections of the pumps, now. They also said that if you're concerned, you can stop pumping for a moment and if the meter keeps going, there's a problem.

I just feel it will drag everything out if I try to get him involved just because he has the receipt for it. Plus he is over 70 yrs old and it can be aggravating trying to explain weird stuff like this to him. I went online just a bit ago and looked at the website FAQ and it says : Lost or Stolen FAQs What happens if my card is lost or stolen? Call us immediately at 888.853.9536 to report a lost or stolen card. We accept relay calls. In order to get a replacement card, you will need to have registered your card. A replacement card with your available balance will be issued if you can verify the card number. Or, if your card is not registered, you will need to provide a copy of the card and/or a purchase receipt, as well as proof of your identity. A replacement card fee of $5.95 will be deducted from your available balance.

Technically I guess my card was "stolen" as I am the one in possession of the card and it is not allowing me to use it? At least, the funds were stolen from it. So what the lady told me is what the website says as well, just in different words.

I have been emailing the nurse lady at school and the instructor at college and have determined the CPR class on Jan 27th is acceptable. Now if I can just find out what time I'd have to be there in person, since I might need a sub. It is an asynchronous day for everyone else, but PreK has to do online sessions with the kids in the morning on those days. So if I have to go to the CPR thing in the morning I'd need to get a sub for half a day to cover my online sessions.

Those are some pretty nails! I love looking at them, but I found out a long time ago that I cannot have long nails. It irritates me and I can't do anything lol I would probably get used to it if I did keep them like that, but my natural nails break once they get slightly longer than the tips of my fingers sigh I just use basic cheap nail polish when I feel the urge. I don't paint my nails often, but when I do its themed usually - like I used to do tiger strips when Nathan played football and his team was the Bengals. And I've done orange for Halloween, Red/Green for Christmas, Pale Green/Pink for Easter, etc. I did candycorn colored nails once for Halloween, that was fun. I actually had that done as a manicure. And was so mad when it chipped the very next day sigh one reason I rarely do manicures. I did red/white/blue for 4th of July a few times lol My favorite is to do a french manicure. Of course, it only looks good from far away because I cannot do it smooth to save my life. It is always jagged, crooked whatever. But I like it anyway, and for doing it myself, not bad. I keep thinking about getting those little peelable things to help make it nicer, but havent ever yet.

The home improvements are going welll. The two doors we wanted removed are gone, new floor is down in the porch and hallway and the bespoke shelving unit is in.

Waiting for the painter/decorator to contact us. We want the hall and cupboard where all the electrics are to be painted and the kitchen to have a touch up as it was only done in 2018. However there’s some messy painting that we did which could definitely be done.

The solar panels and all chargers have been received. Scaffold is going up tomorrow. For the work to start on Monday.

Feeling rough again. My cough seems to have gotten worse. Done a test and know it’s not covid. Which I suppose is a good thing. I had it back in January last year.

Omg this chapter is taking forever to read. It doesnt help that I am cooking supper and checking emails and on here too hahah bad me. I should focus. But I get restless sitting reading dull stuff like this (history of education at the moment is what this chapter is. A bunch of names and what type of education style they used and if it lasted or influenced someone else)

7pm. Done reading chapter. Printed out summary, key terms, and review questions to attempt (not a requirement). 745pm. Finished all regular quests. 83 NY Tokens, 5 :o Amulets, at least 1 morty card (I may have gotten 2, I can't remember if I had one this morning/while at work).

Was looking at my insurance plan app. Trying to figure out if physical therapy would be covered and what it might cost me. So as far as I can tell, I will either have to pay $1300 deductible first, OR I will only have to pay $25 per visit, with up to 40 visits per year allowed. I cannot tell which way it will go. Depends on what physical therapy I get sent to, I guess? One says, "unless otherwise specified" one says, "outpatient hospital" and if I look in another area it says "professional" or "facility" physical therapy. Sooooo yea. I am just not sure. Plan to go back to dr office and talk to them this weekend, I hope. If they'll see me w/o me having paid off the full $200 I owe them...Get them to tell me who they want me to go to for therapy and then go talk to them I guess? And see what they want to do about the pain. And my blood pressure which seems to be higher rather than lower. They did say the meloxicam would make it rise, which is why they increased my dose, but its still too high. sigh stupid medical issues :P

They make it easier/less expensive for people just to go to the damn doc and get some drugs instead of actually improving their physical conditions. 😔

Personally, I love having a bit of a hump on the top of my nail to give it more of a natural curl. Hate my nails as they are. Length, I generally start out shorter and let them grow out so I can get used to them but w/ that set I made them longer to put all the bling on them. Looove me some french nails. Oo I've had some really pretty colored ones done at the salon. Still can't do it on my left hand so I don't bother when I do them myself.

Ugghh. Sorry to see you're feeling rough again. Hope it's just a short dip in health and won't hang around. How long is it expected to take to install the panels?
