I am hoping for power today. I see a truck 3 houses down. But I don't know if they are just doing the roads or houses too. My line is down from the road up to my house. The line at the street is still up surprisingly. Because there are a lot of lines down on the street too.
Cheddar is missing ☹️ he went outside Sunday evening and hasn't come back to the house yet! ☹️
I found the hole in the roof on the outside and it's too far up for us to do anything like I hoped. And it's lightly raining. Ahh well. Insurance adjuster says he will be in the area starting today but can't promise he will get to me today but will within the next few days.
Debris aside, I've seen a number of metal poles placed next to key areas that would make restoring power lines a bit easier, but they're not widespread and wood poles snap easily. A former coworker of mine husband is a head lineman, more like he manages the work in areas that have been seriously damaged, and she talked about the chaos he would have to deal with because most places just don't have extra electric poles laying around in some warehouse. (I mean like a LOT of extra) We're so ill prepared for these events.
There's a guy on Youtube that interprets weather models that I've watched a couple videos from and the last one I watched was when he spoke about the storms that were being swept to the East and even though the model he showed didn't look like there was much going on towards the South, he said there may be a high probability of severe storms in the Georgia/Alabama area to watch out for. I just caught another video last night where he spoke of what's possibly upcoming in the next couple of weeks and needless to say, I subscribed.
His channel is Ryan Hall Y'all, if you wanna take a look.
Daughter flies back to TX tomorrow. We're supposed to see Avatar (she's already seen it but wants to go again) today after her doctor appt. She wants 3D but I'm not really a fan of that b/c there's so much to see that you miss stuff.

Yea my phone has rain for pretty much the next 10 days 😞 I finally got a call about someone coming out to do tarp. Even if they only cover the small hole that'll help. I am worried about the missing shingles but not sure how exposed it is vs an actual hole ....
Sounds like you have had a good time with your daughter! Enjoy your movie! I haven't watched that one. Not the new one or the older one. It did seem like something I would like. But I just don't go out of my way for things like movies unless it's something I'm totally into (like Harry Potter lol. The last one I went to the theater for was secrets of Dumbledore)
It's currently 62 and mostly sunny outside. Amazing for January. I'm glad she gets one nice day out of the visit b/c most have been dreary, rainy or cold.
Hope they get things tarped up for you before the rain hits. What awful timing.

Nope. Been raining lightly all day. Some guys came out, assessed it, apologized and said it would be another day or two before someone could get out to actually put up tarps ☹️ they are volunteers so I can't complain. So I cleared out my closet around where the hole is so if the ceiling gets too bad and falls in it wont damage my stuff. I'm hoping I'll just have a water leak and NOT a ceiling fall in. Ugh. Last thing I want/need is a drywall mess. But it is what it is.
Edit 645 am My power is on!! And my Cheddar is back!!!! Yaaaayyy!!!
YAY for electric!!! Who is Cheddar? I'm thinking it's an outside cat... poor thing. :(

I have two cats. Cheddar is my orange one. His mama (we call her Mama and her name is Tiger). They are indoor/outdoor cats. Cheddar went outside Sunday and then never came back home....he usually is back in by the next morning especially in cold weather. But he was back this morning. I am so happy.
We had a staff meeting and got told to do house visits if we can't get in touch with our families. We've now contacted all but one and trying again.
I'm so glad Cheddar is home, and YAY for power back on!
Boo for the roof, but hopefully it won't end up being too bad. :(
I have nothing to do today except google different project ideas and laundry. It's weird. :P
I hope it's not as bad as it seems. Homeowners SHOULD pay to fix the damage, regardless of what it is.
You got a forum point while making a post! Check out the shop here!
Ooo good, Kat. Things are finally in an upswing!
A non returning kitty is exactly why mine stay indoors unless they are good enough to stay on the porch, and 2 of them do so they get to hang out with me there. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to build a catio. :P
Days like that are pretty nice, Mieke. Enjoy it while it's there. ;)

Well he is 12-13yrs old and this is the first time since he got stuck in a tree as a kitten that he's been gone longer than overnight. I totally get when people don't want to let Thiers roam free tho.
Yea homeowners will take care any damage even up to 2yrs later they told me. So that's good.
Edit 535. Mostly back to normal. No internet at the house tho ☹️ hopefully that will be restored soon.
Evening…sorry I’ve been MIA.
So glad that Cheddar came home. I’ve been following your storm updates on Facebook.
Update on what’s gone on with me. Solar panels are installed and working. Scaffold is coming down Monday.
Brought a new radio as the one we had was 19 years old and knackered also new light fittings for the hall, bedroom and living room. It’s an extension to the Phillips hue I got for a Christmas present from Ian. Brought a new shark vacuum cleaner, brought a new mattress and finally a shark toaster and kettle set.
The painter has been round and he’s had a look at what we want and it’s possible. Just waiting for a quote. Should be done by the end of the month.
Next will be a landscape gardener for the back garden. My ex is one but he lives over four hours away. Our back garden is small so we want to utilise it as best as possible, get a new shed..once that’s done we will be getting more solar panels as they couldn’t safely install all nine so currently we have six.
Once that’s fine that’s all probably it done this year apart possible landscaping for the front garden.
Also saw a man called Otto and M3gan at the cinema. M3gan wasn’t worth the hype. This weekend we are seeing Babylon.
Works been hell, my backs been playing up so much I’ve not had much sleep and that makes Luce grumpy.
Tomorrow we are going round Marc and Ians for a kids game night… it was Ian’s birthday last week. So myself, my Ian and our other friend also called Ian (yes I know 3 Ian’s) it will consist of kids games like buckaroo, pop up pirate, mr pop, hungry hippos, mousetrap, operation, kerplunk so it should be fun.
Man the winds are gusting like crazy. Another spring like storm coming our way. Up to 40mph gusts and that was the same as that arctic crap we got in December but the winds are coming from a different direction which worries me b/c my house is more exposed in the Eastern part that it's coming up from. Hope for some cool storms but minimal hail. Never really had a problem with large hailstones around here and hope that keeps on being so.
Neighbors trees... always the neighbors trees I gotta worry about which is why I kept full coverage on my last car even after it was paid off (and it was still only less than $60 a month).
Hey ! I totally want to see A Man Called Otto!! Just not in the theater. M3gan looks like it's going to be mostly hype... too many people are worried about AI and shit.
My daughter and I went to see the second Avatar in IMAX 3D on Tuesday and I really liked it. James Cameron is a true gem. I wouldn't say I loved it... not like the Transformers. :P Cool scenes for the 3D effect but overall, not really a fan of it.
How do you plan on landscaping your garden? For decoration or do you plan on making use of it for planting and such?
Sorry to see you're in pain.... I'm with ya, there.
Gawd I need to get my ass in gear and do some basic yoga and/or specific SI joint excercises that are the same as when you go to PT. I KNOW I will feel better after a week of doing them....................maybe 2 since I'm getting old.
Gotta say I'm pretty depressed today without my daughter.

Oh a kids game night sounds so fun! I do not know the first three games you named though! Lol Back aches and lack of sleep is not fun.
Still no internet at home. Insurance adjuster is here. He says he will double check but he doesn't believe they cover vehicles on the home policy ☹️ However he is adding in all sorts of things I wouldn't have even though of, like my old fence, the tent I had over the lawn mowers, the porch swing....in addition to the roof siding and windows....and he's adding in tree removal too. I did tell him we would probably do a lot of that ourselves because we will and I didn't want to lie. But I also said how we didn't know what we would do with the root-balls and really big parts of the tree we can't cut up with our small chainsaw....
We are having a half day of school tomorrow. I am letting Nathan stay home as no one will be able to pick him up at 11am. I work all day still. Back to normal as possible on Monday but with extra love, check-ins and social emotional learning.
Sounds like taarna needs some social emotional love (((((hugs))))) I know it's hard to be without your daughter. Think of all the good memories you made while she was there.
you guys are seriously having loads of bad weather at the moment.
At the moment the back garden is just paving slabs with some flower beds around the ends. It also has a shed and homes our four rubbish bins (1 is for garden waste, 1. Is for food, 1 is recycling and the last is general waste) so its quite small. I honestly have no idea what Ian wants to have done. He’s so fussy. He wants to move the bins to the side if the house. But that needs to be landscaped as well as it’s gross awful grass and gravel.
Kat really I just assumed that they were internationally known

Man called Otto was really good. However not a massive fan of Tom hanks. Not a fan of avatar it just doesn’t appeal to us. We’ve not even seen the first one.
- I would say it's kinda global but too much happens in the Atlantic that changes what comes in for us from the Pacific. I just saw a video that explained all the warm weather we've had was from the jet stream coming straight across the Pacific instead of doing waves like it normally does, which was quite interesting. (This seriously was a career field I wanted to go into, meteorology, but the nearest college that offered it was nearly 3hrs away and I had already had my first kid by the time I learned what that field of study even was.)
It would make sense to think those games are known over here, since England had so many colonizers contributing to the 13 original states/colonies, but you Brits have a knack of making up all kinds of new and weird shit. 😂 (I think that's a tossup between Britain and Japan, for real.) The "new and innovative" shit that the US comes up with is so ridiculous and broken that it seems we're receding in our advancement.
I don't think there's a TH movie I didn't like. I even really liked The Terminal, even though it was sad. I'm kinda meh on the love stories, tho.
I LOVED the first Avatar! I mean... BLUE KITTIES!! Very well done both in screenplay and CGI. I read a lot on how James Cameron wrote the story and directed it to such detail that it took years to come to fruition b/c he was so concerned about all the details of the movie itself, and then tried to wait out the whole Star Wars releases that just kept coming and coming and coming... to which I have completely lost my taste and love for the original 6 of the movie line b/c of all the add-ons and offshoots... and, well, I'm more of a trekkie, myself. I just don't watch all the variations of it, either.
Getting a lot of drinks in today but then, it's on to udon miso soup which I'm totally excited for both because I've never had it before and it's been far too long since I've had a Japanese style of curry. Love me some udon, too.

I am already more than tired of rain and hot to cold weather. Ugh. It's why we ended up with so many tornados I'm sure!
Internet service must be being worked on. My computer is beeping and the lights are all blinking on the wifi tower. Maybe I'll have internet again soon.
Hmm now I've looked at the games, only Mr Pop doesn't seem familiar. I think it's just that I never bought or played those games. But I may have seen them in stores? They do look fun!
I am so with you on the warm/cold nonsense, Kat. Yesterday it was 62 and today it's back in the 30's. Did the same thing last week, too. Supposed to get some snow in the next week, so that will be a break from all this rain...

Snow would be a change. I'm not sure Georgia could handle it right now on top of the tornados lol Internet is still out dang it. I'm using the hotspot on my phone to get wifi on my tablet but it won't let me load pages on the computer even tho it connects....it says it's not secure. Whatever. But things are so much easier on my computer. I didn't even do quests yesterday (for the 2nd time this month, the first being last Friday after the tornado). My school(work) computer won't let me sign in to my school (class) website but my Chromebook there does? Weird. So I got a bit more schoolwork done yesterday. Stupid me missed a question on a quiz because the answer didn't click and I only realized the warning notice AFTER I clicked submit. Ugh. Oh well.
