That sounds so annoying. You seem to be taking things in stride, tho.

We need more freezing to have good soil for the spring things. I've always noticed that if it's warmer during the winter and we get a lot of rain instead of snow that things don't grow as good. Even the lilac bushes barely bloom. That and the mold counts get extremely high and I think that's one thing that gets my nose super stuffy in spring.

Hello lovely people! How are you all? I've just submitted my last essay of the last semester and the next semester starts on Monday! My last semester though! It's crazy how time passes! I have had vertigo for the last 2 weeks, though it seems to be shifting now. I had no idea how horrible it was so have many sympathies for people who have it now. I hope it doesn't recur in me! The doctor thinks it's wax build up, so hopefully the ear cleaning I've been referred for will sort me out! I don't think I've ever said but I have a lot of problems with my ear, since being a child and use a hearing aid. I have one of those cochlear implants, so it's pretty great - much better than the in-ear ones, so I've heard anyway. I've not used one but people who move to CI always say they're better.

pleased you're ok after the tornado! Hope you are getting things sorted with the house. ooh, kids game night sounds fun! Sounds like you've been really busy! I hope you are all holding up with the weather. I love winter in the build up to Christmas but after that I just really want spring to get its butt in gear!

Some of my snowdrops, daffodils and tulips are starting to poke through the soil so I'm looking forward to some spring colour in the garden! :) xxx

well it's not like flipping out or being mad would change things. So yea. I'm trying to just deal with it as it goes. I am sad/upset/aggravated that I cannot get the car fixed thru insurance. But it is what it is. I am annoyed by not having internet, but again, I know they are working on it and hopefully it will be back up soon, and I can do my school stuff elsewhere or using a hotspot. It's just annoying.

I had vertigo horribly right before my 20th anniversary trip to Jamaica. I was so worried we would have to cancel the trip it was so bad. But I got treatment and was ok to go. I didn't know you had a cochlear implant! I think those are really neat. My classes started back on Jan 9th.

The only time I got vertigo was when I had a really bad double ear infection when I was 17. My head was throbbing so bad and I couldn't walk straight, hell I barely made it to the car to go to the hospital.

Luce that sounds like a woman at my work that I don't think I ever saw in her chair as she was always walking around with a coffee in one hand and her phone in the other, talking to others. Supposedly some kind of supervisor, but I know how much supervisors work...

I hate being up this early on a weekend. I'm going to feel like a nap during the middle of the day, although I don't have a lot to do other than regular chores. Got my running in yesterday, after a small afternoon nap, for the purpose of not having to do anything today. Good thing, since there's already snow on the ground. Only supposed to get a couple inches. Sure does look a lot nicer than muddy, brown grass. Next storm system is later this week and may bring a bigger snowfall, and also has the potential for severe storms down south, around Louisiana because it's going to pull up the warm Gulf air.

I put in an application for fema. They do help with cars that are your only vehicle, and are not drivable or are not safe to operate. I feel mine is not safe to operate so I'm hoping they agree. I tried to log into my account this morning to see my lettersfrom them, which I assume will explain more about the process (I don't know) but it took to long to load (timed out)so I rolled my eyes and came here for a break. (Because I had literally just finished setting up the account). Apparently someone will have to come out and look at it to determine aid, I think is what the person on the phone said. It was a lot. Stupid site didn't let me set it up online so I called to do it on the phone.

That's great news! Gotta love gov't sites that can't handle an influx of traffic, especially when that's the only time they really get used. I agree that it's definitely not safe (or legal?) to drive with the hatchback damaged like that.

Yea people came Wednesday and took care of it. A very good job. Better than nextdoor who put up plastic sheeting that has already blown off 😟 hope the neighbors didn't have anything important left in there. The ceiling collapsed in yesterday I saw thru the window. Yesterday a bunch of people came by, they were from a local church, said chuck called them (owner next door) and when they realized how much it was plus it was two properties on the same driveway, they called in more people. They cut up all the trees till they were too big around for the chainsaws and piled it up in piles for us. I dont think they actually did very much on HIS side of the driveway and they didn't go in the back of either property....but I dont know what he actually asked them to do...the stuff on his side of the driveway is a lot more tangled and dangerous to deal with especially after the people who covered the house used the bobcat to shove all the trees together out of the yard.

Ryan says it's legal enough because I still have 2 brake lights the one in the middle works. I don't really know. I haven't been pulled over yet lol. I hate not having a blinker tho and no window is not safe either to me.

That's awesome! I've always wanted to be a part of some of those traveling volunteer groups that help after a natural disaster but I have no one to take care of my animals. My older brother used to be available, but now that he has a kid at 50yrs old, he's working 2 jobs just to make ends meet. We all know how unreliable my younger brother is (so glad he's not at my house anymore.) Wonder what the city will do w/ all that wood. Probably mulch it up.

Just let the dog out. He's all excited for the snow. I'm not excited for the dog paws that get soaked and yucky.

Ryan said they will probably just dump it in the landfill. I don't know. I can pile it by the road for them to get but we like to have fires so I asked the volunteers not to move anything near the road except what was already fallen there (pines in the ditch). Ryan wasn't happy because I forgot to tell them not to touch the oaks. I don't really care. He can still cut it up the way he wants, he's just complaining they did it and now he has to go behind them. Whatever. I was grateful. To me it's less work for us. He says he is grateful too but annoyed at the same time because of how he'd planned to deal with it. Oh well. Get over it. Rent a log splitter and cut up the rest to the size you want and be done. He wasn't going to come do anything til next weekend anyway, because he had to work yesterday. Meh.

I would so love to watch the snow fall! That's my favorite. I have no idea why but I love to do that. Especially since it's rare here.

I just went out and got pictures of the yard clean up while it wasn't pouring. But until I can use an actual computer again....I can't post them here. I don't know/can't figure out how to. But I know how to on my regular computer lol

What's going to be worst, to me, is all the raking. I won't be able to mow the lawn til I do that because there are small sticks, pinecones etc everywhere that can damage the mower blades. Not that I need to worry about that for a few more months....but still!

I hate raking. I hate raking the neighbors leaves out of my yard more than anything, since the wind direction always comes from that way. I can't imagine trying to rake a ton of sticks and such.

As far as Ryan... I swear people always find a reason to complain, even when things are done that help them or another person out. Does he do woodwork? Oak would be nice to have, if you knew how to treat it and work with it.

Making fires and practicing some whittling would be nice with all that wood.

No he doesn't do woodwork. He does sometimes build stuff randomly (he made the kids toy boxes, a small desk, and some bookshelves and other things) but we bought lumber for that. He will just use the stuff from the yard for fires. We will do bonfires here and in he will have fires in his little firepit at his house. So that's why he wanted to cut it himself. So he can cut it to the size he wanted. He can still do that, but now has to dig thru the piles they made to see what is too big and then cut it (they piled large logs and all the limbs together in random piles). So he's just frustrated by that. And I get it, it's annoying when you had a plan in your head and now can't do it, but I also am glad for the help. Like I said, less cutting for us to do!

Lol I mean, I get it but what I find is that when I have a plan in my head, i usually don't take action soon enough and something else messes up that plan and instead of blaming myself, I blame what or whoever changed that plan instead of myself for not taking care of it sooner. :P That's what I'm referring to.

Making things with wood on your own is woodwork! :D My dad did so much on his own with wood, it was amazing. Self learned and back when he first started, Youtube diy's weren't so popular.

They're just now starting to plow so at some point, I'll have to dig my car out of the plowed snow. (Immensely irritating when they can just angle the plow to the other side where there are NO cars!)

That is weird yea. Why plow snow on top of cars if there aren't any on the other side?

True, I guess. About the woodwork. His best was Nathan's toybox and the kitchen tabletop. We still have both. Oh and he still has the little desk. He uses it for a grill stand because his electric wood pellet grill sits low to the ground and the table plus some bricks to protect it raises it high enough to be comfortable to use. I also still have the bookshelves. They aren't the nicest but they do the job! I think they were his first stuff he did lol He hasn't built anything in years tho.probably not since Nathan's toybox or the table. I forget which was later. I think the toybox.

Exactly. About the blame anyone who did something. I think everyone does that but again, like you said, if you wait and someone else helps your plan goes out the window. He will be fine about it later I think. And if not he will just have to deal with it, like I am having to do with my car and all 🤪
