They offered to replace the panel that they broke but Ian told them not to worry as middle if feb we are getting a new shed.
You’re right it’s frustrating that the painter can’t come till tomorrow but they let Ian know at 8am.
Ian had a call from the head office if the scaffolding company as he left them a message when they didn’t turn up. The head office said that as far as they were aware it was taken down yesterday, Ian was nope I have ring footage showing them taking it down two hours ago, so have a feeling they’ll get a bollocking.
On a positive note we have sky tv back as the scaffolding was blocking the satellite dish.
Hopefully you’ll get it back soon Kath.
Well hoorah for streaming tv! I think most satellite internet services were a bust so it's very rare to see anyone use that, anymore. They never put enough into their infrastructure and probably even less in satellites (not that there isn't enough out there) so I don't even see ads anymore for it. We are definitely not leading in internet speeds, either. I've seen more restricted countries have better internet than ours, just in download/upload speeds.
I've thought about getting a ring or some other type of doorbell type of camera. I just don't want to be contracted to a service. My biggest concern these days is getting a dash cam b/c too often things happen and it's only the word from each party and even then, it's up to 3rd party adjusters to determine fault and whatever and right now, I'm paying too high of insurance b/c I didn't have a dashcam to prove the fault wasn't mine and that's not going away for at least another year when my points drop off. (don't know if you want the pings or if you keep up/subscribe to see the latest post)
Kat - my experience is that a divorce lawyer can not represent both sides. I don't know what lawyer you're thinking when agreeing to conditions but you may be able to get reduced fees for a divorce lawyer through legal aid, and he can pay for his own? I would do research on the proceedings and paperwork, as well, so that you're informed.

Our internet is broadband which is through the landline company. So satellite is just the television.
Ping away 😀😀
They generally offered broadband plus tv services, but even the tv services were so patchy that most people got pissed off and gave up and word of mouth spread that if you weren't living in an area that gets storms then you might be ok.
Personally, I just pay for internet now and separate streaming services like HULU and Netflix and HBO. Disney+ is shared with me and if it wasn't I wouldn't pay for it. I pay as much for all of those as I did with cable and get more for it. /hugs

Well we are hoping to do an uncontested. So he has a lawyer "on tap" from some sort of enrollment with his work and we plan to use them. And yes I know that the lawyer can really only represent one person. But if I have already agreed to all terms and what is in the documentation is exactly what I've agreed to there is no issue. If there is something different that I didn't agree to and don't want, or something is left out, that is when it's no longer uncontested and gets ugly I guess 😝 I have looked on line into it a little bit to prepare myself. But am hoping for all good uncontested, agreed upon terms. And have it done and over with. We will see I guess.
Doing 4hr online CPR course. By Friday I have to go after school to do an in-person check in to complete it. Then back to regular college classwork
Edit 610 am So last night we got texts/emails/phone calls. They delayed school today by 3 hrs. Going to make for an interesting schedule. I have to be in at 930. Nathan school starts at 1040. Not sure what time he can get into building.....or what time our kids will be let in. Our school starts at 11 PreK eats lunch normally at 1040. Hmmmmm lol
Also sort of good news? My daughter's friends family down the street with same internet as me has someone coming out ( a supervisor!) To check and she's said she will tell them my address as well to check since we have same internet and I haven't had time/kept forgetting to get ahold of anyone due to work and school stuff. She spent yesterday on phone to get a supervisor since she was off work and at doctor apts
Edit 853 Sh*t. Think I put in a wrong number while submitting my check info online. Argh. (I was told I had to submit the check to my MTG company as it's a 3 party check and has the mtg company as well as me and Ryan on it). Well I have to send them the physical check anyway too so hopefully it won't be to screwed.
Got another 3+ inches of snow last night. Woke up in the middle of the night, looked out and it was a winter wonderland. By the time I got out of bed, I think I heard sleet so the rain moved in quick. Heard there were tornado warnings from this system down in the northern part of FL.
Mallarchy pond: You Win: 4 Carnival Ticket(s)!
Surprise! You also get this old trick or treat item:
[item2=Spooky Little Book of Puzzles]
I can't believe they still haven't got your internet back up yet! I know you've got so much other shit to deal with but I would be calling them everyday until I got a good answer as to when they plan to restore it!
Wow, didn't realize a CPR class was so long.

Well it was at my own pace. I didn't have to do all four hours at once lol. And it's not just CPR, but also aed usage and basic first aid. And the in person part was scheduled from 10-12 so it was 2hrs but I don't know if I would/will have had to stay all 2hrs or what....
Too much on my mind/to do to be too bothered about waiting on hold for internet. I just kept checking online. It wasn't til we were talking to each other that we realized how small an area and she was told it had already been fixed, when obviously it has not ... Maybe I will have internet when I get home fingers crossed
Yay for mallarchy pond win!
Painter arrived…electric cupboard were all the metre readers, dials all treated, new shelves added and painted.
Where the second front door was, that’s been tidied up and treated can’t have first coat till tomorrow as it’ll need sanding down to paint.. Hall has has one coat on the walls and skirting. Kitchen door frame has had one coat.
The colour is so different we have gone from blue to red and grey.
Tomorrow will include the sanding, the second coat everywhere and a first coat in the kitchen.
I’ll be crossing everything for you to have the interweb
Thanks. But sadly no such luck. I asked my friend if they came out yet that she knows of and asked for the number she used to contact them (in case it's different from the one I found online). Tho honestly I'm just about ready to just go to the at&t location down the freaking street and see if they'll talk to me hahahaha (I have no idea what they do, if they are a part of the service area or what but they have all the vans and stuff like that parked at that building...)
Lol well instead I contacted at&t myself thru a chat as a phone call was useless. Finally got a person. My friend says they basically told her the same stuff Saturday. Mainly, that a main source was down from the tornados. It has been repaired. They are checking all lines before restoring service. Service should be available soon. Blah blah blah. It's been a week!! And the "outage area" is sooo small. It's crazy. I guess I will give it a little more time.
I also contacted the power company and asked them to come check my pole as it appeared to be leaning slightly and has space around it. They came right out 😲 and straightened it some and added dirt to the hole. And reassured me that it likely would not have fallen as it's very deep, and once the lines are back up next door (probably not until after repairs) the pole won't look like it's leaning so much lol But the last thing I needed was the power pole falling on my house, adding more damage and no power again!!! So I called them on it. Lol
I'm trying to read chapter 4 so I can do the test for this class on it. Then I have to watch a video(teacher lecture) and do a brochure on preventing birth defects, and a discussion thread on prenatal surgery for the next class. I am ahead in the third class.
I understand you've had too much on your mind to deal with waiting on the phone for an hour to get ahold of someone that actually knows what they're talking about (and that you can understand). It seems like they're really dragging their feet and don't care about a small area. I'm too dependent on internet for work to let something like that go without constantly complaining.
Sounds good that you contacted the power company about the pole. They must go pretty deep b/c there's a road on my way to work that has about half a mile of open fields and the poles that line the side where the fields are have a MAJOR lean to them, towards the road, and they've never been replaced.
Fresh new paint, ! Must smell nice. :P Love a freshly painted room, though. Almost feels like you're in a new place. So the next big project you have coming up is the landscaping next month, right? How long is that expected to take?
Can't wait for this week to be over.

yes I love the smell of fresh paint.
The only issue is Yoshi. He never goes in the hall or kitchen. It’s not like he’s not allowed in there he just doesn’t usually go in there.
However it’s like he knows that he’s not allowed in there and he keeps on going in there! The naughty little buggar. Last time we did some paining (when he was like a couple years old) he got gloss paint in his fur so I had the fun job of trying to get it out. In the end I had to cut his fur!!!
He’s been curled up on the bed all day so far. Which seems to be his favourite place at the moment.
Yes the next project is the landscaping of the back garden and the new shed. We will be going back to the houajould recycling centre with all old paint etc. this is being done middle of next month.
Then the last thing for the year(for now lol) will be new floor boards in the landing and new flooring on the stairs and landing. Still waiting for a date for this one..
Next year it’ll probably be the bathroom. We had it fitted about 16 years ago. However it hasn’t aged well and the landscaping of the front garden..
Off tonight to the pub and on a school night too! We’re staying in tomorrow though.
Edit and the painting is done. Now to let it dry and then we can move everything back
I think cats know exactly where you DON'T want them to go, so that's the first place they go to. 😂
The floorboards sound like it's going to be a pain to navigate around but once everything is done, I think you both will just breathe a sigh of relief not to worry about schedules, contractors and moving things around - or trying to control a cat. giggles

Yeah he definitely does that. Thankfully it’s only the landing that’s being refloored. And it should be done in a morning. Just hope that he stays in the one room 😂
Lol yes. Cats go exactly where you don't want them. Mine are both always on my bed. Leaving fur and dirt. Ugh. 😝 Bell however surprised me the other night. Dumb dog got restless or something I guess and kept whining. When I went out to see what was up, I found her standing on the top of the back of the couch!?!?!?!!! Whaaaaat?!!!! Crazy dog. I ended up taking her back outside since she wouldn't settle down. She is a decent size dog too, 65 lbs. And between knee/waist high on me .(I'm 5'2"). So it was very funny seeing her standing there at 4 am!!! Wish I'd been awake enough to think about taking a picture.
Edit: 630pm Whooooo I have internet again!!! Now I need to go work on the brochure for my class and finish other classwork. Because tomorrow I have to go do the CPR class in person part, go to the store/post office and mail the check, so that nonsense can get started. Then I have to look into how to get the rest of the $ for the repair work - wondering if the contractors will wait til I get the final payment to get THEIR final payment? Because I can mail invoices/receipts in and recover about the same amount as they gave me, which plus what I've already got will cover almost all of the big repairs I need. (Or else I'll have to get a loan, but waiting on FEMA for the car because I may get referred for that for the car and why not see if they can do the house amount too if I have to get a freaking loan, do it all at once). Won't leave me anything to replace stuff but I didn't really care about replacing most of it anyway. And the things I did want replaced I probably can just buy out of my own pocket as I go (like I might get a canopy tent to put over my car right now until I can get it fixed, when its parked at home anyway - can't do much if it rains at school :( I'm going to spend part of this weekend redoing the plastic and duct tape and hope I seal it better. I think more water got in from when it rained. I heard sloshing today, and so I took out the spare tire, the pad it sat on (ewwwww soaked), and sucked tons of water up out of that space, the back seats (found out those were wet when Shane sat in them on the way home!-I think water splashed up on them out of the spare tire area) and the back floorboards. My wrists are killing me now. I still need to suck water out of the front floorboards (the carpet in front is damp, but there was a small puddle in the back floorboard!!) ARRRGHHH I should have checked all that earlier myself, but I heard water that first day I drove after the tornado, and then I didn't hear water the next time I drove so I thought most of it splashed out of the car I guess :( Then I sent Nathan to vaccum up all the glass, assuming if he found water he'd vacuum that up too -but either he didnt' see it, or he didn't bother. sigh If you want something done right...... know what I mean? Oh well. Whats done is done, hoping the car will dry a bit more tomorrow as its not supposed to rain. But it will be raining again next week :( ugh.
[edit] Friday 450pm Done with my CPR course :) The lady was so sweet. She did expect me earlier in the day hahahah but I guess my definition of "after school" and hers were different (she was thinking I would come when the kids got dismissed, at 230 lol but I didn't go til my usual clock-out time at 315....she then proceeded to tell me I could have clocked out from there. Interesting! I didn't know that). But we still got it done. She also said that I did awesome, and she was very glad I was, so that we moved thru it as quickly as we did! :) She said my card would be available to print off after she closes out the class, probably Tuesday or Wednesday.
Yay for getting the interweb back 😀
You’re so busy kat. I wish you could take it easy.
We went porcelain paving slab shopping for the garden this morning. We found one that we both loved at £48 per square metre and we need 30.
We now have a date for the garden work. The second week of February so not long, we need to empty the shed. Thankfully dad has said we can use his garage until then as it’s virtually empty. Then we will be arranging for a new shed to come.
Never knew gardening was so expensive it’s just under £5k 😳😳😳😳
We went to see plane at the cinema with Gerrard Butler. A real good watch.
Tomorrow we are going out for lunch for dad’s birthday which was on the 19th. Even brought his birthday presents today which was a large puzzle and a small one and s calendar as he doesn’t have one.
LOL I think I have discovered I like being busy. I mean, I do like to be able to sit at home and relax too.... but there are many times I'm like.... I have NOTHING TO DO!!!! :P
But those times are often followed by - I do not want to do chores, I do not want to do yard work, I do not want to bathe the dogs, all of which are things I can do when I have nothing to do lol
But yes. I do keep pretty busy. Especially right now as I have three college classes, work, and tornado clean up. I have spent today on that for the most part. I did go to walmart and get some groceries. I wanted to go to Ingles and get a few other things. Maybe tomorrow. Then I spent the morning picking up smaller branches, cutting smaller branches off of bigger branches (as I can't move the heavy stuff and its awkward to try and move big branches with lots of little branches on them lol so trimming makes it easier for me to carry even tho its a bit of extra work). I raked up a good area around the oak tree that is still standing in the middle of the yard (where a LOT of debris wood/branches were just tossed).
We had 2 bigger fires and 2 smaller fires (three were in the driveway in mud puddles, as my driveway is dirt/gravel and has washed out so there are holes, so we were trying to fill the holes in with ashes from burned stuff lol) One big fire is still going. The other one is sort of going but almost out. The two small ones are out. I think they are pretty full of ash for right now.
Of course its supposed to rain tomorrow so half the ashes will probably wash away :(
Then I spent probably half an hour to 45min using the shampooer hose on the car to suck out more water. Its a 1 gal collection tank and it didnt' even get half full, but the carpet is still damp, and I know there is still more water. I just couldn't do it anymore.
I also took the old plastic off, and opened the doors to air the car out and help it dry some (I hope). In about an hour I am going to go put new plastic on and retape it all down. While the plastic is off I got some really good pictures of the damaged spots...I want to talk to some repair places, but I can't leave my car for an extended time (I have no idea how long it would take them to look at it to do an estimate, so took pictures in case that helps).

[edit] Good Morning Everyone. Back to school for a Monday morning, in the rain. What fun. And I am taking Shane back to his truck first, so waking grumpy butt Nathan up even earlier than normal. All this rain has saturated the ground so much my septic tank is acting up...the toilet has air bubbles and the tub has backed up a time or two in the last couple days. sigh I am going to treat it with RidX (I have been bad and forgotten to do it lately) and use as little water as possible per day and hope for less rain.
