- aw, your post made me smile :) And there's somebody on staff who agrees with you on the reborn kerubi! I've never quite been able to capture the spirit of that pet - the artist of that one was really amazing.
Honestly, it's more the sentiment of what people loved about the old pets in a thread like this that I enjoy. I know in the past, when we've come to revamp pets, we'll be deciding on whether we'll change the pose, or keep it along the same lines, or if we want to try real hard to preserve a certain something that the users just loved about an old pet.
We're pretty good about weeding through the information to figure out what ACTUALLY needs to be revamped! But a thread like this might sway our minds as to what to do first.
For example, I have a revamp planned for a certain two pets - a species revamp - and this thread has definitely shown me which one I want to tackle first. (And I'm rather excited to get on with it, actually)
Just remember that real people drew these pets, not robots, and a lot of love has gone into them over the years. We don't aim to ruin dreams or crush expectations (even though I think some people are under that impression!) and we're all still learning as we go - we never stop learning. So just remember that when you're writing about the mythical artist that at some point has drawn something a little...off. Our aim in this game is to please you guys, and make amazing art, and it's way easier to do that when you're enthusiastic and positive about it!
(Side note, I also enjoy looking in the 'what DON'T you want to be revamped thread' to keep an eye on how-to-not-crush-too-many-dreams)

Did the Kanis need the touch-up? No, not really, but it got one anyway because it was looking dated. I think the Mahar has aged beautifully, but also that it could use just a tiny bit of extra love.
What are your suggestions for moving forward with this thread? Would you be willing to clear the OP of all the pets that aren't already on your radar so we could use a propose/vote system?
If you do that, people will just re-suggest them. :P

Going forward from this post on, all nominated pets must receive 5 votes of support from other users to be listed in the first post. If a pet has already been mentioned (but it is not listed in the first post) it needs to gain 5 supports to be re-listed.

Suggested by , a few of us have decided to take your suggestions and organize them a bit more for the creative department. This way, the artists don&;t have to go through pages and pages of suggestions to find art to revamp. We took the last 10 pages or so of suggestions and compiled them in lists to get the thread started. We will update the lists as more people post!
Pets were only put into a separate thread because it was getting overwhelming in the other thread, which now focuses mostly on items and NPCs. The goal was that there would be a little more thought put into posting a pet and users would be able to discuss these more. I understand WHY this thread was made. I stand by my original comment: Staff should not need US to tell THEM what is in 'dire need' of a revamp. My issue is only with that specific stipulation in this thread. Users should be able to post that they think something could use updating, and should be able to do her job as Creative Department head and prioritize which need it most.

Honestly, I think my heart would break if the Endeavors were revamped, especially the Reborn, Angelic, and Graveyard ones. Their poses are so dynamic and they fit so well in their boxes, and their designs get the point across without being overly busy. ;x;
I feel the same way about most of the early Illumis redraws too (Galactic, Spectrum). That style just works really well and I wish the site had stuck to that style over the years instead of going for thinner lines, more complicated touches to the designs, and generally being more realistic on a site where the human avatars still look like they did several years ago.
(that said, I would support a Mahar revamp. It has such stiff posing)

This site is quickly becoming user run in the sense that no one on the admin side of things knows what needs to be done until a user brings it to their attention. So disconnected.

It's sort of a mix between feedback and suggestions. I thought Revamp Feedback is for something that recently got revamped, as obvious as it sounds?
We're all for having better pet artwork, especially the ones that really need it. Of course, the artists shouldn't be controlled by the users, but it's good to have a thread to talk about what pets and colors needs to be worked on. And the artists can see why people wish to get this or that revamped.
Hey everyone, this thread is getting very off topic. If you're upset by the recent changes made to this thread, maybe create a separate topic to express those feelings.
Everyone is still welcome to post the pets they think need to be revamped, but the OP was getting overwhelmingly long and starting to include almost all of the pets (which defeats the purpose). The new vote-in system suggested by prevents pets that are not in "desperate" need of a revamp from creating arguments about what art is "okay" versus what needs attention.
