PLEASE

Added! I'm getting this notion that people want an archan revamp... there are now nine of them in the OP, which is more than any other pet.

It's already listed, haha. I think it's probably the most dated art on the site as far as pets go. Kumos are the most poplar pet onsite, so I really don't understand why it's been left looking so... unique... for so long.

oh sorry! Im still new to the site and some chibi pets just hurt my soul... so much potential on those babies hugs the kumos

I am hoping they don't revamp the Angelic Montre, or at least not revamp it so much that it joins the hoard of overly happy pets. Its snooty expression along with the rather lithe body shape and that pose is a perfect match. ;;

No worries! Chibi is one of the oldest pet colors, so it's not surprising so many of them are older. Hopefully they'll get some attention soon!

I think a montre revamp is inevitable, but I know the artists are always extremely careful with angelic revamps (because it's a CS color). That being said, the art on the angelic looks pretty decent, so I wouldn't worry too much about a revamp in the near future.

Awesome, thank you! Once you're done I'll put a disclaimer up that a pet needs 5 votes/supports before it gets added to the first post. This thread has been getting a little overwhelming to manage because there's no fair way for me to veto adding a pet unless I can make a very clear argument about it (like the glade kumos, which was mentioned on the last page).

Edit I can start a tally in my notes app. It shouldn't be too bad as long as I keep it alphabetized.

Man so many pets people are nominating, I don't envy you . Glade Kumos? Mahar? Sweetheart pets? Those all look very good to me. Sure not as excellent as some of the more recent pets, but holy crap the Mahar is one of the best common pets we have. That pet has held up remarkably well considering how old it is. We have pets that have never ever been revamped that need attention far more then a lot of the ones listed.

Also man I feel old now. I remember when the Darkmatter Kumos was released to such drama. The release of the Mahar after the drama of the Rreign revamp. Old times :P

I was not expecting this thread to get quite so much attention. And I'm definitely in support of cleaning the OP so there could be a more restrictive system (nominate and get 5 votes).

I agree that many of the pets in the OP are not in desperate need of a revamp. Could some of them use a little tough up? Sure. But many of them are pretty good. But as it stands I don't have a really fair way of telling people "no" when something gets nominated.

Do I think the sweetheart pets need a revamp? Not especially. The issues with the archan have nothing to do with the recolor and everything to do with the species. The demi may need a little retouching to make the shading pop, but it's a pet I would still feel happy to own without an overlay.

Unfortunately "this needs a little retouching" seems to mean "this desperately needs a revamp."

How about separate categories for "omg please help this pet" and "i think a touch-up would be good here"?

I'm by no means an artist so i'm going to try and explain.

Basic, Hydrus,Angelic & chibi devonti because all of them could use a shading update. The basic ones and the chibi are rather flat shaded while the angelic one seems to have pretty extreme color differences.

Hydrus: The tentacle in the lower left corner seems to be unsharp. And what is the yellow thing behind sticking out? Because devonti have fluffy tails so it's not the tail. And this is hard to explain: but i feel like it would fall over? that it can't stand like that?

Like i said: not an artist (and not a native english speaker) so this is hard to explain. But I really love devonti so I would love to see them with a brand new shading. Not sure if it can be considered desperate.

[edit] Not quite sure why the chibi kerubi is in the first post, i don't see the shaky line art :o Oh and so yes on all celinoxes list and the reborn tigrean: so much needed revamps.

Possibly voicing an unpopular opinion here, but here goes;

The Reborn Kerubi is one of the best of its species and colour imo ;U; i see why it might need some slight updates, but a whole revamp? Not especially. And the Nightmare Charlie is one of my favourite pets on site, as is the Chibi Kerubi! Why are they listed?

I think people are jumping pretty quickly to judge pets and art, without really considering that most of these pets are more than likely on the radar? idk like I appreciate why this thread was made but I kind of find some of the posts a little offensive toward artists work onsite?

just to add some perspective, in 2015 alone we've had the following releases and revamps:

Thats 34 pets, if I'm correct. In three months, that's about 11 pets a month. Now I don't mean to be rude, or to come here and cause arguments or 'drama', but I think we get a pretty good deal on this website. By using this thread as a platform to whine about pets you're not 100% happy with, I think you're being hugely ungrateful, whether they need 'touch-ups' or not.

That's not to say I don't understand the posts here; there are some pets that do desperately need updating (eg. Chibi Kumos), and I get that some users want updates before new releases, but tbh you can't please everyone. For the site to grow, we need new content, and a solid mixture of both revamps and releases is amazing- and we get that on subeta! Sometimes, a post here might raise issues to artists that hadn't been noticed before, but to have a front page listing all the pets that 'need' revamps makes me uncomfortable when I see pets that have beautiful artwork already.

I think 's idea of categories for revamps and touch-ups would be ideal here.

(Also, on a very personal note, if the Spectrum Kerubi ever changes I will be so disappointed I can't even explain omg ;U;)

I didn't notice until just now that pets posted here at supposed to be in desperate need of a revamp. I figured those pets are obvious to everyone (like the spectrum clawsion) and don't need a user-run thread to keep track of. :x

I agree that the chibi kerubi, nightmare charlie, and glade kumos really don't need any work. They're totally up-to-date.

And I stand by the Mahar needing a touch-up! I don't think the common (and colourfill) Mahars are on the same quality level as, say, Glacier.

This type of thread was specifically requested by the art department, as noted in this thread:

Pets were only put into a separate thread because it was getting overwhelming in the other thread, which now focuses mostly on items and NPCs. The goal was that there would be a little more thought put into posting a pet and users would be able to discuss these more.

I absolutely do not want to run a “retouch” thread because every single pet on the entire site would be posted (as proven by this thread). But I agree with what you’re saying: most of the pets posted here do not need to be revamped. I don't agree with some/many suggestions, but I've only been responsible for organizing the pets into one area and I don't think it should be left up to one person (me) to decide was does/doesn't belong.

I like the idea of having to gain support/votes to have a pet listed, but I would love to hear everyones suggestions about moving forward with going forward.

Me too. I love everything about the basic mahars, but the shading is a little blocky in some places. It would be less of a revamp than a retouching.

Sort of like the dillema's update:

Obviously the mahar doesn't need it as badly as the dillema did, so the update wouldn't need to be so pronounced (and I wouldn't want it to be).
