I saw the hydrus harvester in the OP but not the reborn, and as the harvester is my favourite pet on the site I'm going to mention the reborn harvester. While it isn't nearly as bad as the hydrus I think it does need a refreshment. I don't think the art has changed since I first created mine (correct me if I'm wrong), which was in 2007 so it's pretty old. Compared to the other harvester colors it's body also seems to be a bit bigger and the fire is a bit flat compared to newer reborn pets. I'm not an artist and don't really know how to explain it better. I know reborn pets are revamped around Fireside and I was hoping it would get an update last year after the galactic harvester got one, but it was not to be. :( As I have one and it is my active pet I'd really like to see a revamp for it.

I feel as though the following could use an update, minor or otherwise:

I find it's not quite in tune with the rest of the Kumi. It's not bad, but I find the face could use a bit of tweaking. It looks rather odd with these massive eyes and super triangular nose. Most of the body seems to be alright, it's just the face/head/ears that could use some tweaking. Also, by the right cheek, it's actually missing lineart. It's like the green from the chest got spilled over into the jaw.

Now, I know there was a lot of uproar about the DM Kumos when it got its first revamp. I read that thread although you could no longer post in it. The whole thing looks just really odd to me, especially the left hind leg. The front legs look way too thick and the hind left leg looks way too skinny. Also, the front left ear is completely reversed. Yes, I know it's supposed to look like it's being flattened against the head, but completely turned around? That's more like for a Graveyard pet than DM. When a canine of any kind flattens its ears against its head (if they have the ears to do so {aka pointed ears}), they certainly don't reverse in position.

The shading doesn't seem to flow as nicely as it does on other Kumi.

Finally, the pose looks like it's scared stiff. It sorta emulates the position of the Reborn Kumos. They're both stiff and looks like they're petrified lol! It'd be nice if the DM didn't have the same stiffness as the Reborn.[/spoiler]

Nothing much to say here, but by how other experiments look, could use some touching up.

Thick lineart

I'm probably not going to bother - the artists have a pretty good understanding of anatomy, and the newer antephores have all of the joints they're supposed to. The angelic is old art, and would probably be due for a revamp even if it wasn't missing an entire joint.

I am hesitant to add the glade kumos to the list because I don't think it deviates from the standard set by the common pose... it's eyes and ears seem large because it's face is what's closest to the viewer (unlike most of the redraws). The missing lineart issue is actually just where the head is connecting to the neck. Here's a comparison of the glade and field kumos:

They're not really different (ears and eyes are the same size, and both have the same face/neck lineart), and it's definitely not in "drastic need of a revamp" which is the part of the criteria for this thread.

I've added the DM kumos though. It was made to appeal to owners of the old DM kumos (as you know), but the pose has always been awkward. Also added the kerubi and experiments.

I had never noticed that before. There are actually several pets without the rainbow, most of them released fairly recently (bumbus, devonti, irion, jollin, and then a few older ones).

I don't know if that makes any of them revamp-worthy. It was probably intentional in at least some of those -- the devonti and irion might have looked ridiculously cluttered with the extra rainbow. The art itself is superb and completely up to date, it's just that one detail that's missing.

Bean has always been the Mahar artist, if I remember right. :)

The sweetheart archan and demi could probably use some touch-ups, too. They were some of the first sweetheart pets released, and I think the standards have gone up since then as they've refined that color.

They both look a little melted and have that unsettling vacant stare. The lineart is aso a little think in places. and there's not much depth to their shading.

Compare that to the bumbus with its brighter eyes and that glorious cotton candy (or bubble gum?) fluff, and the pherret's soft, cuddly fur.

Obviously it's not super urgent, but it couldn't hurt.

I'm a little concerned about the Galactic Kanis being revamped...it just looks so cuddly and its expression is so joyful and happy...it's one pet I'd love to get soon...

Added! That is some pretty old art, haha. I'm surprised the sheeta has been left untouched so long!

I've added both of the sweetheart pets- the flat shading on the demi is something that people pointed out when it was first released and it just really needs a little touchup. I think almost every available archan recolor is already on the list... so I think that speaks more to the species needing a rehaul than anything else, haha.

The galactic kanis has some pretty old shading, and I'm sure that if it gets revamped it will only look better.

I personally would be annoyed if the SH Demi got revamped, because I actually like it that way more than I like the SH pets that are just a candy apocalypse. The patterning on the Pherret, namely, I just find gaudy.

The backfur is similar in style to the SH Bumbus already. I like having some SH pets being more mininmalist. The lineart is a little thick, but that's an issue with a bunch of pets. I'd be okay with a little touchup, but not something with a ugly heart pattern on it. Please.

I also...don't see any issues with the Archan? At this point, I think it's more a case of not liking the specie's design more than having outdated art.

Also, the DM Kumos looks fine. Wasn't that revamped like one or two years ago? That doesn't need a revamp. Neither does the Glade Kumos.

I don't necessarily think the demi needs a huge revamp with lots of candy/fluff added. I do think the shading is very flat though.

As for the archan- I think it has the same issues that all of the other archans have with anatomy. This isn't the fault of the current artist... they're just working off a model that's pretty broken.

I'm pretty defensive about Demis in general, but considering they don't even have nuclear yet, they probably have a revamp coming in the short future?

I would agree with that sentiment, but it's possible the nuclear has just been overlooked. I like demis in general because of how simple they are (and I think that a lot of pets suffer from just having too much going on). Hopefully if a revamp happens, they aren't changed too much.

And I was editing my last post because I didn't see the bottom of yours on the last one, but here's what I have to add about the kumos: DM kumos was revamped in 2009, so it's well within the realm of "older" art.

I'd agree with "was overlooked" if the Montre didn't have the same issue, and they're both in the top 20 species in popularity. Neither have Cherry and Silver as well. THE KNOWLEDGE YOU GAIN FROM COLLECTING LIFELIKE DOLLS, MAN.

We're getting a Demi and Montre revamp in the foreseeable future.

Ahh, good point. The montre definitely needs some attention, but I'm sure there will be mixed reactions when that happens because it is so popular.

And yeah... here is the news post, with 400+ comments and broken images. But I checked a couple other fansites and the revamp that the newspost is referring to is the current revamp that we have. It was one of the first of the really old kumos to get changed, if I remember correctly.

It's also worth noting (and this is not really directed at you, but rather at everyone who posts on this board) that I try to be as objective as possible when suggestions are made. There are a lot of pets that I personally don't think need a revamp listed in the OP. But the purpose of this board was to let everyone suggest what they think needs a revamp, not just for me to list what I personally want revamped.

I agree with the shading, but it was bitter sweet when the Galactic Chai got revamped. it lost a lot of its cute facial expression. I wouldn't mind the change with the Kanis as long as it keeps the exact same expression it has now. That super happy face just makes me smile :)

...and I certainly hope that the Kanis doesn't get transformed into a hare :/ I hope that I miss-read Rah's post earlier in this thread

I think you may have misread the posts- the general feeling was that there should be a separate hare pet (thought I personally wouldn't be upset if the kanis was made into a hare). There are so many cutesy small mammal pets on site, toning one down a bit wouldn't hurt.

And I'm guessing you edited the other Kerubis in (I didn't see them when I responded last night, anyway). I'll add the galactic, reborn, and chibi, but I don't think the spectrum really qualifies for needing a revamp. A lot of spectrum pets don't have rainbows (mostly newer ones), so I don't think it's necessary to add in a rainbow when the pet is already doing a good job of filling the box.

For me these could use a revamp: It seems to miss a part of the butterfly and rose on the right as if the art didn't fit. And it's a bit pixelated on some places. (But it's still one of my favorites and please don't change the pose).

The lines are really thick and the shading could use some help.
