It's not just your eyes! A lot of chibis are different colors compared to the common pose... it's very common for them to be lighter, like in the case keeto, but some are much darker. I think it's supposed to mimic how real-life baby animals are different from adults a lot of the time. Here are a couple other examples of different colors:

The chibi keeto was updated in September 9, 2009 apparently, which is older, but I think staff are currently looking for a new Keeto artist, so I think the common versions are considered out of date, the shading is definitely off at the very least, I... I'm not sure I'd consider the chibi out of date, so much as off model at this time XD the lines/colouring is up to date anyway.

I agree 100% with the need for a hare pet! I love Watership Down... I just want a rabbit pet that doesn't look like a child's easter bunny. Kanises aren't a bad pet pet by any means, but they don't look anything like real rabbits or hares. There are so many cute, fluffy pets that all look really similar (kanis, keeto, torrey, kerubi, popoko, etc.)... it would be nice to get a small-mammal type pet that wasn't so big-eyed and fluffy.

There are two I can think of that are basically an identical design, down to their name ¬_¬ it'd be nice to have more variety (with an artist who has the time for them cough Noktoa cough), and while my vote is still for arthropods first and foremost, if we got a nice non-cutsey hare I'd get it in a heartbeat, there are hardly any mammal pets on site I particularly like in comparison to the number of them P=

A more war-mech revamp would be good for the two mechs on site, Maybe with the Chibi, Sweetheart, and Nostaglic colors being/staying more cutesy/rounded? I'd love to see them get updated, but I also agree that they're supposed to be fierce war mechas.

EDIT: There will be a huge list here later, but a good number of the galactic pets in general need to be updated for the site.

I know the Spectrum, Blacklight, and Galactic ones are already in this thread, but I feel like the Kanis' species in general needs an update.

While all other field pets are green with brown accents, these are brown with green accents. It's not the case with the other colors of these species.

Huh very good point... I bet they'd look gorgeous if you swapped the colors around to fit the name better.

I added both of your suggestions to the list. A lot of the newer field pets have more brown accents (versus the light green that older pets have) but both of those are pretty different from from the other field pets. That being it may just be the direction that the color is going; the noktoa and neela are two of the newest additions to the color and both are very brown compared to older pets. Here's the noktoa for comparison to the other two that you posted:

Fair point, but in the case of the Noktoa, it's not unique to Field. All of its colors have a lot of the accent color.

I don't know, it annoys me that I have to overlay or to get glade if I want a green Neela.

First and foremost, the Experiment 8625. Just look at this guy. 8( Not counting Hydrus as a color, we don't have a very wide variety of sea creatures (especially mammalian ones) to choose from and I feel like this experiment could have a nice design with the right redraw.

I doubt the Charlie will ever become a popular species, but its common pose could really use some work. In particular, it'd be nice to see its lower leg anatomy updated to match the special colors.

Speaking of pets that I don't think have been touched in nearly a decade. x: I still have a lot of love for the Montre and it's flawed common pose and I'm sure it's precisely people like me that make the task of revamping it daunting, but haha that poor thing's legs..

And a few special mentions, because I kind of doubt it will happen/know they were revamped once already, but I would love to see the Swampie and Dragarth get a light design upgrade. I don't think everything needs to be covered in stripes, but they're both a bit plain and it's a shame since I think there's a lot of potential for a fuzzy dragon and a plesiosaurus.

I think the field Neela is really attractive as-is, but I can see why the decisions for certain common-pose colors would be frustrating to people.

Oh my goodness... a new hare pet would be incredible. They could even be related to the kanis! I've been holding onto Snowshoe as a kanis for years praying they would get a revamp so I could make her into a snowshoe hare. On a separate note, that's awesome news for the three pets currently in trials! I'm especially excited for the ontra.

Maybe we could get explanations of the colors added to the subetapedia? I don't think that's your responsibility, but it's worth putting it out there. I personally like the brown tones on the field (because it makes them different from the glade pets), but I definitely understand why some users aren't as happy with it.

That experiment and the charlie are already included in the list, but I'll add the common montre to the list. Swampies are also already listed, but I'll add the common pose for dragarths. They could definitely use a little touch up to match the style of the redraws.

I think the Bovyne needs a revamp. I love the Celinox the way it is now. Maybe add a new pose for it though? Or improve on the default color pose? Give it it a more independent/wise/regal aire to it?

Aww, I really like the browner field pets. I'd like to see more in that direction. There are a few (like the ontra, torrent, charlie, and donadak) that are either too bright, or weird bluish shades of green. The neela and noktoa are perfect.

I agree with preferring the brown field pets (the noktoa is my favorite, which is why I mentioned it above). That being said, it would be helpful to know what the actual color palette for field pets is supposed to be.

I'm going to take the neela and legeica off of the list for now because they are much newer (the neela is under the 2 year rule) than the mostly green field pets. It's possible that it's just the direction that the field color is going and they don't really fit into the "desperate need of a revamp" category. A lot of the colorfills have some pretty glaring inconsistencies (and field seems to have some of the greatest range of colors) and until there's some sort of conformation on what the palette is supposed to be, it may be better to leave them off the list.

God I would live to see the Kanis get a design overhaul. It's way too cartoony. Watership Down is my favorite book and portraying my WS fan oc with the Kanis is kinda of...difficult lol

Is it possible to add short blurbs with the reasons that the pets in the first post should be revamped? Thanks :) Some drawings are very obvious (like previous generation drawings), although other drawings are more recent and I can't find many posts that explain why. I think some of the posts are from the older feedback threads that are way too many pages long.

I believe Rreigns need a revamp. Their anatomy could be better, and they haven't been updated for over 5 years ever since I'm here.
