People seem to get very upset about all these revamps. I sometimes think it would be a good idea to just redraw them in the same pose with a verrrrry similar/ identical color scheme, but with smoother lines and better shading, then maybe people who owned the pets wouldn't get upset and abandon them/ pay thousands to recolor them.

Or they could always draw multiple pictures all at once and have everyone vote on them.

I dunno, just a thought. ^^ I do prefer most of the revamped pets, though..goodness knows why.. xD

I'm not sure... on the whole, it's pretty cool. I'm not sure if I'm very fond of the head tho. No, not cause it's smiling... just not sure I like the shape. I like the big, pretty eyes on the original.

I'll have to wait as see. I'm sure which wins will work out.

i really love how some people get all upset over these revamps. i like this one more, it's more anatomically correct--its arm doesn't look like it's coming from the same joint that it's leg is in, and it's all shiny and pretty and unflat. personally I like the one that's "smiling" over Patronus's edit, if you look at some dinosaurs (including the family or whatever that 'raptors belong to; i can't remember what it's called) it's actually the shape of their jaws that make them appear to be smiling.

and who gives that it doesn't look exactly like little skinny birdy velociraptors? : D It's NOT a velociraptor! oh my god!

actually I like the original version rather than the "tweaked" one that was posted. It's not "smiling", that is just the structure of the creature's face, and it's actually very accurate. I think this new version looks great, the previous one was kind of bland and spindly.

maybe i am weird... but taking away that smile makes it look far more female.
what i highly dislike. then rather a grinning neurtal pet than a not that grinning female looking one.
with this strong jaw bones this pet needs the grin...

Improvement, but the face needs work, maybe on the Chunky-ness to it and a less goofy grin. :/ I just hope with this revamp comes good colours like Angelic/Galactic.

Oh man, I might consider getting one now, but I have too many reptiles as is. xD;;; Anywho... huge improvement from the older one. The shading looks great and its claws = awesome.

I agree with Luxe: All the pets on this site are supposed to be magical and unreal creatures of their own species. So it kind of annoys me that they(meaning staff) keep trying to make them look more and more like normal animals!! This Velosotor is supposed to look like a Velosotor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Besides the old one is 10x cuter!! =~.0=

The ONLY thing I dislike about this, is the smile. It doesn't fit, at all. I prefer the expression of the old one to this one. Also, she shading almost makes it look 'furry', to me... -shrug-

This is a velosotor, not a Velociraptor or Tyrannosaurus Rex. It does not need to look like anything real.

Can there be a 2nd revamp like there was with the Tigrean? To take into account what people have said about the neck and the claws? I don't care if it looks like a real dinosaur, but I want it to look more like the gorgeous pet it is now if possible.

o.0 Actually, yeah, velociraptors should be on the thin and elegant side. They're birdlike. "That's not very scary. More like a six-foot Turkey." This revamp is some sort of clunky light-weight T. Rex.

My only thought is that the front feet should be more delicate and fine, almost like fingers, instead of stubby claw-thingies... But other than that, it looks very nice... the face was kept very velositorish.

youre drooling too much about science and tv. it doesnt matter at all if the new art is closer to what people call raptor or closer to your favourite movie. if they gave him a pigtail, would i say "yay its great now" just because i like babe? o_Â° (i dont like babe its just an ex.) they should revamp the art, not the pet, in my opinion. so judge by how much VELOSOTOR it is, not how much "yay jurassic park" or "whatever-raptor".

A small note, Julie: raptors are theropods. You seem to be thinking of theropods as the tyrannosauroids and their relatives, but theropods also include (to name the famous ones) Allosaurus, Gallimimus, Spinosauris, Archaeopteryx, Compsognathus, and all the raptors.

The raptors in Jurassic Park did resemble the Utahraptor. Unlike common believe, actual Velociraptors were small, probably no bigger than your common goose or swan. I always liked to think that Deinonychus were featured in Jurassic Park, but they're a little too small to have been considered. It irks me that they used the term Velociraptor for that movie incorrectly, even though it's one of my favorite movies.

I have to agree with Ounegoneziea; the hands need to be done something with. The hands resemble a therapod more than a raptor. It irritates me. The body structure looks a lot more therapod-ish than raptor-ish as well; weren't raptors more bird-like in their appearance and movements?

However, having loved the Velosotor since the beginning, I'm very happy that they're finally getting their revamp. Though I'm upset that the friend I gave mine to was frozen for reasons unknown, she hadn't even played for two months when she was frozen. A little odd, and frustrating on my part; I want my pet back.

"Velociraptors are not thin and elegant." they arent, of course! they are and ugly and have a huge snout and are often bloody. but VELOSOTORS are thin and elegant. or were. they wont be in future.

The old one was far, far, far too skinny for what it's supposed to be and I'm glad than the new version is fixing that
