I see. You are in the fat man camp. Ignore the poor turkey ;) lol I have decided I want a real tree this year. So I will drag Nathan out to chop one down for me at the tree farm even if he doesn't want to :P

I hate waiting. Its what I get tho. Waiting on my neighbor. I could get my OWN Sams club membership.... I've tidied the living room, read my chapter for class, did a few quests. Cleaned out the car. Still waiting for her to say she's up and ready to go :P

Edit: 10am FINALLY To be fair, I knew it would be at least 9 am before she was ready LOL I hate being an early bird sometimes.

I know I've explained before how turkey is just dumb :P I don't like dark meat and all turkey is dark meat basically. Plus.. Thanksgiving is a day, Christmas is a season :P

You can get a Sams membership pretty cheap, I think it's like $10 for the year with a coupon. We've got the plus, but I go a LOT.. like every week or two :P

I think this is the 3rd time this year? Its why I don't get a membership. Its 20-30miles away. Always crowded. AND bulk is expensive. I never used to have the large amount of $ at once to spend to stock up. BUT since I have it, and a nice neighbor who offers to take me, why not stock up and save. I spent more than I planned. I did get meat, dog stuff and feminine products as well as the water and toilet paper (and snacks, always snacks) Nathan wanted a $44 package of snickers bars. NO! I got the $12 bag of fun size instead.

Hahah I am just teasing you. You do your holidays your way. I don't put up Christmas (most of the time) until after Thanksgiving. This is mostly because I never used to put up Christmas until after Shanes birthday so he never felt like it overtook his birthday. When he got old enough we would ask him before decorating for Christmas before his birthday/after Thanksgiving (his bday is Dec 7). I like turkey, but ONLY turkey breast. So if I get turkey, we only get a breast usually. Once in a while a whole turkey but then so much of it goes to waste. We normally actually have ham for thanksgiving :P I love me a spiral sliced ham. Got one at Sams today! $2.50 a lb!

I've been trying to understand why things ended up the way it did. There's this guy on CNN named Michael Smirkonish (gods know I spelled that wrong!) He commented on a article written in the NY Times yesterday? today? I forget which as it was 9am and I was still half-asleep. Anyways the title of the article was, "Stop Pretending that Donald Trump Is Us." In it the author basically said that all DT did was hold up a mirror to the American populace, which is whyhalf of us love him and the other half revile him. It really gave me something to think about because I didn't think Americans were as bad as that. Then again, I am rather isolated because of my disability and illnesses.

Congrats to the Lions for winning! :)

- We have a Sams club here but we don't go. Have a Costco also but don't go their either. We just don't have the storage room to buy bulk.Oh, and pppfffftttt to your early bird. I'm rarely up before 9am. Why? Because I have no where to go. 😂 :P

We have Sams, BJs AND Costco, all within an hour of me. BJ's is actually the closest, but since they don't sell her dog food anymore, my neighbor let her membership there expire. I heard rumors that one of them was going to actually open IN my county. If that happens, I will probably get a membership because it will be so close to me and I'll go more frequently. (and curse that I'm spending too much!) LOL I don't have a lot of storage either, but since I now have two empty rooms, I guess I have storage? :P I wish I had a pantry. I put the water in the middle room (where the baby stuff is) and the TP is in my room right now...and the food stuff got put in random cabinets all over the kitchen hahahahah The dog treats are also in the middle room. I left them in the LR floor but the dogs kept sniffing at them so I put them up.

- You could make one of those empty rooms into a pantry. All you need is some inexpensive metal shelves and POOF you have a pantry. My kitchen is small, not enough cabinets. To get more storage we bought a wire baker's rack. Everything is stored on there from our rice cooker to tins of soup. It actually gave me more storage then I thought it would You know, you should donate that baby stuff to a shelter for battered women or to a place that helps pregnant teens. :D .

Well, while that is a good idea, the middle room (with the baby stuff) - its AWAY from the kitchen....and right now its full of baby stuff and a few other random things (like old computer chairs and Nathans game chair and I don't know what else). I can't use the other room, because it is now almost all set up as a guest room. I want a pantry IN my kitchen. But my kitchen has no space for it really. I do have plenty of cupboards, but they're full of random junk too and other things at this moment (like my cabinet next to the fridge on the bottom has humming bird feeders, paint/stain cans, bug sprays, large food storage containers that I'm not using, and who knows what else. The one above it has Shane's leftover food stuff (cereal, rice-a-roni) and bigger items like kool-aid pitchers, ice trays and my blender/small food processor. The next cabinet is my dishes, plates/cups/bowls etc, including the wine glasses I only use on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years for Sparkling Juice :P And some holiday special cups (like The Santa Claus ones). Then my under sink cabinet, that has dish soap, flower vases, extra sponges, etc Then is my plastics cabinet on bottom (think tupperware and lids, plastic cutting boards etc) and my glass serving/storage bowls too. Above that is one of my food cabinets - breakfast and baking stuff for the most part. Chips usually and bread too are in here. Next to it is the cabinet with the rest of the food stuffs - like macaroni, spaghetti, canned veg, etc. And below that is the pots and pans cupboard. Then the stove. Then the microwave area, the cupboard above that has more blender type items and towels/rags, the cabinet below has dog food and trash bags. This cabinet set is only about half the size of the rest of them.

So like if I could ORGANIZE better I can fit most stuff in my cabinets. I just like the idea of a pantry. But when I bulk shop, I have no place to put some stuff - so like my snack puffs box (30pks of puffy savory snacks) I have NO PLACE to put because the cabinets are full of other stuff LOL And the granola bars I bought totally filled up the space that was in the breakfast section of my cabinet :P The trail mix packages and snickers filled up the rest of the random cabinet by the fridge. So no place for puffs. (at least not easily accessible!)

As for the baby stuff, that is also a great idea - but Katie asked if they could have it should they need it, if Shane leaves it here...so ... yeah Also the crib was bought by Ryan and he wants it to stay here for whatever next grandchild we have. (and the crib takes up half the space in that room alone lol) There is two car seats, the crib, a stroller, a swing, a bassinet and piles of clothing, diapers, wipes, toys and other little stuff like that.

- Wow! You have about as many cabinets as I do. Since there is no where to put them, you're just going to have to take one for the team and eat the snack puffs. :P It sounds like you need to pull everything out of your cupboards and rearrange them, getting rid of anything you don't actually use (unless it's sentimental.) As for the baby room, in that case you should keep the items for future use. But putting a shelving unit in there to hold infrequently used items from the kitchen would help free up space in the kitchen. Just a thought. :FD

Hi all waves I hope you're all well xx

Mieke, your HA has reminded me that I need to change mine! 😆

Kat, I feel you on the kitchen front. We actually have two pantries (they're just build cupboards, not like a big walk in pantry like I see on TV/in films. Hah) and a good amount of wall cabinets in our kitchen and I still don't feel like I have enough space. I didn't realise we had so many until I started looking at houses to buy and counted the amount of cabinet space we'd need (including our pantries) in any house we bought. I definitely need to go through the pantries and a couple of the cabinets and sort them all out though to make better use of the space we have. Martin is off on exercise with work again for a few weeks so maybe I'll do it while he is away - or maybe my ADHD will decide not to. Who knows. 🤷‍♀️🤣

Anyway... I went shopping today for a dress for our work Christmas night out. It's black tie and I have a lovely dress in my wardrobe that would be perfect if it wasn't for the fact I am now 2/3 dress sizes bigger. Sad times. So I went on the twin by myself to find a new dress. I think I tried on about 80% of the shop and I'm still not sure I love the dress I bought by I'd been to the shop twice and tried so many dresses on, in different sizes because sizes can't just all be the same and it was getting close to 6pm. Haha! I did get some Christmas presents as well so it was a nice few hours out alone.

It's Remembrance Sunday here tomorrow (then Armistice Day on Monday) so we might pop to the garrison church for the service. Depends how the kids are, I can't be dealing with them being pains at the service if they're not in the right mood tomorrow. If we don't go, I'll just pop the Cenotaph service on on the TV.

The kids' school is doing a lovely service tomorrow evening as well. The children have all decorated empty jars with poppies etc to make them into lanterns and they'll light the path down to where we go. Then the children will be singing a beautiful, but sad, song by the Military Wives Choir called 'We Will Remember Them'. (You should be able find it on YT if you want to hear it) They did want the MWC I was part of to come and sing too, but unfortunately the MD is busy on a Monday and couldn't but they're definitely open to doing more with the school in the future if they can, so that's lovely. It finally feels like the school cares about the military community now that the awful head teacher (Principle) is gone and we have a wonderful one there instead. It makes my heart happy.

Welp, that's enough random Hollie-ramblings for one evening. 🤣

Oh but we love ramblings here !! Glad to see you've found a dress, even if it isn't one you love, and I hope you have a wonderful evening out when you wear it! It is nice when the school participates in things. Our school is doing a Veterans Day parade on Monday, all the families that have a veteran in them, the veteran is invited to come walk around the school with the child, and then the child and veteran (and family) get to go have refreshments. Everyone else will be in the hallway clapping, cheering, waving, holding flags or whatever (like we in PreK are letting the kids color a flag in the morning that they can choose to hold in the hallway - I made sure to ONLY put out red and blue crayons. And we will still end up with random colors all over I'm sure instead of a properly colored flag).

, the puffs are good. But I need to limit myself to one bag a day or less you know. They need to last :P I need snacks for a month, not for a day or a week!! I have gone through the cabinets at least twice in the past two years. I am sure there is still SOMETHING in some of them I can get rid of, but I have gotten rid of a good bit already. And still have random junk. LOL

I went over and played cards with my neighbor for a while. She won every game :P Oh well. I'll take my monopolies over there tomorrow after I do my reading and my quiz and we'll play again. :)

- Your Veteran's day plans sound like fun! We usually just go out to Outback because they give Vets a discount on their meal. :) I think every kitchen, or house for that matter, has tidbits that manage to linger even after you think you've gotten rid of all the extraneous bits. I know we certainly do. Hubby likes to keep peices of things that he thinks may be useful and broken things that he says he's going to send back to the makers because they're still under warranty. rolls eyes They'll never get sent back. They'll still be here long after we're gone I suppose. 😂

LOL Wondered what happened to the other page. U sent me the link and when I got on here tonight I went to it and was ready to post and it was locked. Took me a few to find this one, I guess I wasnt reading the names right cause I was looking for Kat or Mieke lol Maybe I should be wearing my glasses while on computer instead of just when I read lol

Anyways..... Yes to answer ur question on the morostide board. My name as her daughter and POA is all over her chart and the POA documents are in the chart as well. They r just stupid! Sadly I have delt with the DR's and other staff doing this to me before. THey tell me she is confused but then all of a sudden they r talking to her and asking her questions, and im like "She cant answer properly cause she is confused, has dementia etc" This time I got.... Oh well she has been really good since she got upstairs here, no confusion or anything. (Hmmm Maybe I should have been called to be told this?!?! Assholes) Anyways she is still in the hospital. Dr called me yesterday and said they r gonna keep het over weekend and see how she is on Monday.

My dog Daisy is doing better it seems. But she still cries a lot and we dont always know what she wants. She probably wants to play and raise hell, but she has to stay calm. (Tell that to a 2yr old dog with tons and tons of energy :-( Plus she does it to me all night long. So I havent really slept much since she came home. But im hoping she is getting better on the inside and next Friday the 15th she will get her staples out and that damn cone off her head. She hates it and so do we lol

Ok well im off to try and get in the shower before Daisy starts yelling again. I'll TTYL...

oh yes. I know. I have a junk drawer. I've cleaned it out like 5x in the past two years and its STILL full of random junk. I need to maybe organize it or something instead? LOL And yes. The bottom cabinet of random stuff has a waffle iron. But the last time I got rid of the waffle iron, we decided we wanted waffles...so we had to buy a waffle iron!! So I kept this one even tho we have not made waffles in over 5 years :P Because sure as I get rid of it, I'll want waffles.

I went and finished cooking supper (mac&cheese, cornbread muffins and pot roast - oops too many carbs! but YUM!) and ate.

oops yea, they lock the morostide boards after things end. Sorry! Glad your mom is doing better and your dog, even if she is whining. Oh tell me about energy heck yea. My (ok my son's) Daisy is a whirling dervish when she gets going - gets the zoomies!!! round and round in circles around the living room! Then JUMPS on top of Belle to try and get her to play!

- Well, when want waffles we just get Eggos. :P lol We have the same kind of junk drawer. I emptied it once looking for a rubber band, just took it out of the cabinet and threw everything away. Darned if the stuff didn't respawn a week later. 😂 Your dinner sounds yummy. Hubby is making clam sauce with rotini. It's almost done so I'm going to wrap up here and go eat. Have a good evening. :D

Oh my goodness, that sounds so lovely. 🥰 I'm sure the flags will be beautiful whatever colour the little ones do them. It's the thought and excitement that counts.

On Friday, we had some children in the secondary school (like a mix of middle and high school, I think. Ages 11-16. We finish compulsory schooling at 16.) I work in, in their cadet uniforms on Friday. They went and did a service at the church down the road although I'm not sure why they did it on Friday instead of waiting until Monday. 🤷‍♀️

Yeah Hollie- I agree, although some people get upset when the flag isn't colored correctly. But they're 4. They're still learning. Which is why I limit it to the right colors at least! That is strange they chose a different day, but maybe they couldn't on Monday for some reason and still wanted to do something ?

I finished my reading, and took my quiz. 100! Go me! I almost missed one, as I was debating clicking one of the multiple selections but went ahead and did it, it was right to do so! :P

I like eggos, but homemade waffles are soooo good. I rarely do waffles or even pancakes anymore just because its only 2 of us and there is so much leftover food :( We don't like to eat leftovers. I try to sometimes, but some stuff just ISN'T good to me leftover. I do try to reduce recipes whenever I can. Sometimes then, we are still hungry tho. Can't win for losing!

I dunno, we'll find out tomorrow, I guess. Lol. They will probably go out at just before 11am and play The Last Post on the bugle like they did last year. We have a big 'Lest We Forget' sign (giant letters) with a Poppy on, on the green in the front of the building. Then we'll observe the 2 minutes silence after that. Although that's during morning break as they changed the timings this year so not sure how it'll work. 🫣😬 Ack, boohiss to the people that complain!

Well done on all of your studying, btw. It's lovely to read. ❤️👩‍🎓
