No, it was that the assignment was for 15 full points. I got 13.5 of 15 points. (maybe your screen reader did not pick up the backslash that was in between the 13.5 and the 15?) She wasn't that picky :) Her only comment was that I needed more details in two different sections. One section got me the full point off, the other section got me half a point off. Not too bad honestly. So I'll go back and make sure I put MORE DETAILS in my PreK lesson plan hahah!
I am ok with plots. I usually will participate. I think I only ever missed one, a summer one - the boat cruise thing. not sure why I missed it. I like new things, but I also think after 20 years maybe its a little hard to come up with new things? Maybe not. I don't know. I'm not artsy! I'm happy as long as I get plushies beanbags and books LOL But mostly we get more clothes!!
also, yay for being subscribed to the thread! Go hubby!
Kat - That makes more sense grade wise. I went back and walked my screen reader over the numbers digit by digit and you're right. It didn't pick up the slash between them. Ugh. You'd think that for a screen reader that I pay money for it would get such things right. :/
Yeah, they may be out of ideas but that's what we, the players are for. I'm pretty certain if they put up a post asking for ideas they would get a ton. Shoot, I have a few myself. lol I love getting the plushies, books, and beanbags also. I have little use for wardrobe items unless they come with an achievement. I hope they do more then relase the items for the event this year. Or, if they don't, it's because they're working hard ona good Lumi. :D
Yeah, I was getting frustrated that I couldn't figure out how to sub to the thread. Sometimes, you just need a pair of working eyes. ;) :D
That was me. I stuffed everything under the sun in the wardrobe - until I got the achievements! I now have less than 3 full pages in my wardrobe after removing and selling it all after I got the achivements. I now also tend to borrow items for new achievements, like the SubQ items and lifelike dolls when they come out with a new set.
There are forums for suggestions and ideas and I bet they do get some ideas off of that for holidays. I've read there aren't that many artists that officially work for the site too, and maybe that is also why there is fewer items.
I also hope Lumi gets some really nice items.
Oh boy, I have 136 pages of stuff in my wardrobe. I won't touch anything until all the achievements are finished. Then I'm going to sell anything that I don't have in an outfit. 😂
I find it easier to just try to buy the current SBQ items and have my son click the game for the life-like doll. I tend to lose/forget where things are when I borrow so I just don't do it any longer.
I'm surprised they don't get some of the CW makers to work for them. Shoot, I know of at least one person who'd love to make some money on the side with her art. Maybe I'll nudge her to apply. ;)
I hope Lumi has nice stuff also. That seems to be the penultimate event for the site so it should be lavish. That makes me wonder if there's going to be any Secret Santa/Melody events this year. I haven't seen a post from Tartelette about it but I did hear she's on a hiatus. So, maybe she isn't doing it this year? :(
I'm off for dinner. Have a good evening! :D
Oooh I ran off to eat supper too. Then spent some time reading. I'm trying to figure out what I want to work on next for college because I don't feel like working on any of it right now :P Maybe I should just read my chapter or something instead.
I will be busy Saturday so I won't have my normal time to work on things. So I need to try and do SOMETHING today, as well as tomorrow after work.
Its Katies birthday and I think I've mentioned we're going to the RenFaire :D Robin Hood themed! I'm excited!
I miss plots :(
Hey guys. Sorry, disappeared again! Life has been busy.
Let's see here.. band concert went great, county band was really wonderful to hear. Today is the food share. Lily got first alternate for district choir, so 21st out of 94 or something like that?
One of Lilys friends moms has been trying to get together for a few months now but we always have to cancel.. she wanted to have me come over for coffee (or another appropriate drink, which for some reason made me cackle) tomorrow morning, but it's literally the only time I have to go grocery shopping and it's BAD, so I was like.. this is a little crazy, but do you want to run errands with me?
So we're going to do that :P And then a birthday party tomorrow..
I'm so tired :P Kat IDK how you DO IT.
Happy birthday to your daughter, Kat! I always get a little teary-eyed on my kid's birthdays. The Ren Fair sounds like so much fun, especially a Robin Hood themed one! I wish we had one up here but our Ren Fair has languished abandoned for years now. I'm not sure why it stopped as it would draw crowds from D.C. and Richmond. So, no lack of interest, that's for sure. Did you get any of your chapters read? Maybe you just needed a day off and your mind was telling you in a round-about way. :) Mieke, I really wish they would come up with some kind of plot/event/something. I miss when Luminaire was first released and we got the snow fairies and the whole story of Melody unfolded in front of our eyes. Plus, a whole month of gifts plus Luminaire trees that we could put as much stuff under as we wanted? It was too good to be true. For that matter, I also remember when Fireside was brand-spanking new. No one was exactly sure what to do with the red rreign items and the first time I dropped a wreathed red rreign item in the bonfire I laughed for an hour. I miss it. Congrats on your daughter getting the spot in the chorus. That must be exciting for her. I think your daughter's friend's mother running errands with you is brilliant. Two birds, one stone. Plus, she can see how busy you are and understand that you really weren't blowing each other off when it came to meeting up. :D
Waves at all the lurkers!
I forgot to mention, happy almost! birthday Katie!
I think she knew, because a lot was music stuff LOL.
Lions just lost 46-47 in the first state playoff game.. but I think that's a GREAT game, you know? It wasn't a complete wipeout like we've done to uh.. basically everyone.
But now Lily is officially section leader and drum major. And she went on a college tour today. Next year is going to be crazy, I think.
Oooh congrats to Lily and oh my no way, college applications already!! :o That is a good game, I like it when its exciting like that LOL
Thanks for the birthday wishes to Katie guys, I'll pass them on :)
I'm not sure how well I retained any information from my chapter or the article I read, but I'm going to take my quiz. Glad its open book. I kept falling asleep , even though I was mostly reading around 6-7pm. (yeah I said I was reading at 5, that just ended up not happening, thanks to puppy being wild, had to wait until she settled down)
edit: 836 Ok quiz complete. I missed 3 questions. True/False. I think because of the way the question was worded. One was about an age....one paragraph in the textbook said age 3, one paragraph said age 2, so I said true, it was false sigh The next was about the bilingual approach emphasizing the EASY use of ASL I said False because it says "EARLY" use in the text book, the quiz said the answer is True. sigh and the third question was about kids learning from different adults so that they learn there are multiple ways to do things (which normally, I would say yes that is true, but this was for kids with cognitive delays, and the book said that ALL adults should be on the same page on child expectations, soooo I put false)....but its true sigh Oh well! 3 points wrong isnt' bad out of 25 lol
also in that class, I had got full credit for almost everything except quizzes so far, and in one of my assignments I got bonus points, so yesterday I had a grade of over 100% so todays quiz just dropped me to 99.6% lol :P
Kat, 99.6 isn't a bad overall grade. You'll get bonus points on other assignments and bring thsat back up, I'm sure. So, how was the Ren Fair? :D
Mieke, congrats to Lily. College applicatioins and the subsequent visits are a crazy time. I hope she finds one she likes quickly to cut down on the craziness. :D
I don't know if any other assignments have bonus points. I was surprised to see those. But I am more than happy to have anything about a 90! :P I think going to college has made me a perfectionist for my grades, because I now really want to keep all A's hahahahah I used to not care as a teenager. I think I graduated high school with a 2.7 GPA or something. Bad me. I totally got a C in my last English class in high school. For college, my worst grade was in Algebra (if I remember right), a C and two B's for English and Political Science (those three classes were the semester after I graduated high school). When I started to college as an adult, I got a B in Economics. Everything else has been an A.
Ohhhh the Ren Faire was a blast! It was so pretty so see once it got dark and all the lights came up. I had so much fun. We had an encounter with Prince John and he wanted us to sing, THREE kids who were in chorus and they could not think of a song to sing. One of the pages recommended "The wheels on the carriage" so Katie and Wes sang and Nathan smirked and smiled through it LOL I videoed it!!! :D We also saw King Richard, some ladies, the Sheriff of Nottingham, Robin Hood (I didn't manage to get a picture, he walked by so fast!) and Friar Tuck!! I asked him for a picture and Katie ran over to be in it, so I said it was her birthday - he then said "You look wonderful for 47" and I about died laughing and said to Katie as he started to walk off, "Hilarious, thats how old I am!" and he screamed out "NAILED IT" as he walked away!! Me and Katie BOTH died laughing!!!
I got my hair braided, I got to wear my cloak (that I got around 25-30 years ago and haven't been able to wear since!) and I got a new yellow rose 3D printed dragon!! Nathan finally talked me into buying him a knife, it was made from a railroad tie - and its going under the Christmas tree when I put it up :P I got Ryan and Shane some shot glasses, Ryan a Red christmas mug with a candycane handle, Shane a glass ball ornament that is also a shot glass, I also got one of those for Ryan (the ornament shot glass, from Katie, but she didn't pay me back yet hahahahah) for Christmas. I did NOT post pictures of those on facebook (for those who are friends and might go look at my photos) because they are gifts. But all the other things are posted!
I can't wait for spring again, because they paved some areas, and put in new stone pathways/gravel/grass and a new fountain and central market shop and I can't wait to see if its still there and what else they might fix up/change for spring!!
[edit] 1110am Ok I went in and finished up my rough draft (which honestly unless I get major feedback will be my final draft) for my learner differences power point project. I did the "work ethics" thingy too. I sent an email to the teacher to find out if I need to turn in anything BESIDES the power point. Then I also went and finished my PreK lesson plan (ooops! Forgot to do the research based section, so I completed that) and turned it in. Not sure really if I did "MORE" like the teacher wanted, but I tried. So now I have no more schoolwork for now. Starting tomorrow I guess I will have to REALLY start work on my literacy project (I've got to find/print stuff out again yay) I need to wash my sheets (the cat is sleeping on my pillow, yuck - I don't know why but I hate when she does that) and I'm currently washing my clothes and need to do some dishes too. AND wash towels as well. Sheesh I gotta get busy (busier?) LOL
I was the same way when I graduated high school. I went straight to uni and almost failed out because it was one big party and I did nothing but party. I think I got a 1.7 gpa at the end of the year and that's only because some professors graded on a curve. 😂 My next attempt at uni happened when I was 39. I got 1 B in "Teamwork" class and got As the rest of the time ending with a 4.0 gpa. I was obsessive over my assignments. So, I understand where you're coming from.
omg, it sounds like you had a blast! I am so jealous and have to find out why my area doesn't do them any more. I wish I could see your pictures but I'll just imagine them. The Christmas gifts sound very nice, especially the knife. I like it when people repurpose/reuse things and turning the railroad spike into a knife sounds like a good way to dothat. The shot glasses sound nice also. Did you try any of their Ren "food"? They used to have huge smoked turkey legs at the one here. I'vve always wanted to try one but never did because they were so big I didn't think I could eat one.
My weekend was quiet. My son live streamed his Splatoon gameplay and then we had a family movie night and ate chili and watched Johnny Pneumonic. It was a fun evening. :D
oh yes! Nathan always gets a turkey leg. I always get the steak on a stake, and the corn on the cob :) I usually also get the sugared/cinnamon nuts but I didn't this time (pecans or almonds). Katie got beef jerky. Wes tried out the ramen they were selling LOL he said it was good. I don't think they had ramen in medieval times but eh. Wes and Nathan got coffees, and Wes got beer and mead and some sort of non-alcholic wine drink. and Katie got some canned margarita things. I don't drink. Nathan isn't old enough to. I was driving anyway but I took a sip of the supposedly non-alcholic wine to see what it was like. Like hot spiced cider honestly.
ROFLMAO at steak on a stake! I love it. Now I really am going to figure out why there is no Ren Faire here. I want a steak on a stake. I love hot mulled cider. Hard cider is my favorite alcoholic drink. There is hard Apple cider at the Food Lion. Twisted Cider is what I think it's called. It's so good but I can only drink a few sips before it starts messing with my blood sugar. I'm so glad you had such a good time. :D
You can always make your own steak on a stake!! LOL Its just a long skinny steak (don't know the exact kind) on a bamboo skewer cooked over the grill. Its salted and peppered and I think that is it. But its SOOOO GOOOD. Also the RenFaire seems to put EVERYTHING on a stake now - porkchops, sausages, smores....lol I sometimes get the potato - its a spiral sliced potato, fried like fries. Yum ... unless it breaks its all one big long potato swirl :D
My go-to alcoholic drink is a mixed drink. Honey whiskey and dr pepper. I also do like strawberry daquiris. But if I can TASTE the alcohol I don't like it. So my drinks have to be small amounts of liquor and/or well mixed. I probably have, 2-3 mixed drinks a year? :P Unless I have major stressed out feelings. But even with all this crap this summer I still only had like one or two drinks? As I said, I'm not really a drinker.
edit: 540 I'm off for class. For some reason, ever since I updated the zoom app or whatever, it says I don't have enough resources to have multiple tabs open (which I have to, for class and the zoom meeting, so I have to shut off this tab argh)
edit: 808pm Class is over. She really wants us to work ahead and get stuff done so we won't have to meet on Dec 9 :P But the last two things (the big things) are both due Dec 8. Why should we have them done by Dec 2? :P I will if I can, but not gonna stress if I don't. I do have all week during Thanksgiving break after all (tho it appears most of my classmates are NOT planning on doing any school work then). As for the other class, the teaacher provided feedback on my rough draft - and in ALL areas i was "proficient" or "exemplary" - yet she gave me advice on things to add/change. WHY? :P I'm proficient or better!! hahaha now I feel I have to change some stuff tho. sigh It won't really be that hard, but I may not do ALL of her suggestions. Depends on how much time I have after doing other stuff.
Smores on a stick? How do they get it to stay on the stick? I imagine it would be one hot, gooey mess. :)) You know, I now want all my food on a stick. :)) Your professor probably just wants extra time off during the holidays. You're lucky that you get a full week off for Thanksgiving. I usually got the day off and had to do schoolwork the weekend after. :P I don't drink much if anything anymore. The alcohol turns right to sugar in my system. I just take sips of my hubby's drink. My favorite mixed drink though is a Bloody Mary. Not sure why but I love the tomato juice. :D
Does anyone know if Melody's Helpers is doing their Secret Santa thhis year? I haven't heard anything so I'm unsure if I just missed the notice. :)
Well, we have an assignment due Monday (before Thanksgiving) for the one class, but the other teacher took the whole week off. (So I had an assignment due this Wed, but the next one is not due until like Dec whatever after Thanksgiving). Usually the college takes 2-3 days off - so like Wed/Thurs/Fri. Or just Thurs/Fri. My classes are on Mon/Wed so its kind of up to the teacher how they want to do things. My Monday teacher is the one we have an assignment to turn in, but no zoom meeting. My Wednesday teacher has no class or assignments scheduled as due that week at all.
I get the full week off from my job as well. So that will be nice, so I can work on college stuff instead of being at work hahaha
As for the smores on a stick, its not a typical smore. Its one of those giant marshmallows, on a stick of course, covered in chocolate and then rolled in like, golden graham cereal if I remember right. Nathan tried it one year (quite a few years ago now). I'm not sure the marshmallow was even heated up to be honest.
I have not heard anything about Luminaire activities. Girl I'm still waiting on Fireside to start! :P Don't you jump me to Luminaire LOL
You've got it with the assignments. I don't think you'll have to worry about any of your classes. Enjoy your holiday break! Are you going to do the traditional turkey? :) Well, that does sound good but they should roast the marshmallow first. I'll have to give that a try. My youngest loves marshmallows. :) rofl! Shoot, I'm already jumping to next Morostide. :P I was just wondering because by this time last year I had signed up for it already. So, I'm thinking no MH Secret Santa this year. That's sad. I hope someone else gives it a try. (NO, not me. I don't have the organizational skills for it. XD ) :D
