(Pings via request) So, I've noticed these past few months there's been a deeper focus on wearables as opposed to pets. Don't get me wrong, I love wearables and they're one major reason why people stick with this site! But it feels like the other reason is lacking in love... our pets. We have so many pets missing colorfills, revamps, and love (looking at the qrykee!) that it looks like they're getting left behind in the dust? While we receive multiple wearables every single month, and some months we'll go without a single new color or revamp! This is an injustice! We're a pet site! ...Aren't we?

So I have a few things I'd like to suggest along with this feedback! I know we just had Blob Month, but I'd love a Pet Month! This can be handled in any number of ways, but chief among them, a Renewal Month? Where we have a sort of rebirth where revamps of pets are king and wearables are put on the back burner. I've had several people in my forum group state they'd gladly go without a month or more of wearables for focus on the pets! And so would I! Also I hear that pets have one artist exclusively? Which seems like a good idea - keep it consistent, but it also seems to... not help artists get new colors or revamps out regularly, so perhaps staff could look into this?

wipes tear from my eye -- the renewal month can work in phases honestly. you don't even need to do a lot of them just do something with them ??? there are some pets with art from long long long ago and yes !! its exciting to get new pets and colours !! but you have so much already built as well and in the time everyone is busy working on things like wears we could also get revamps out for colours too !!

i'm not saying redraw entire species lists as most seem pretty okay, but the older ones that have redrawn special poses that are ... less than savory. even going : darkmatter week, glacier week, and some others -- and even if its 4 colours and 2 pets each maybe ??? its something, and a good stepping stone towards making the whole site caught up on the thing this site is : a pet site !!

I 100% agree that a month focusing on revamping old pets would be amazing. The blob month reminded us all how much we are missing.

Some pets that have had their entire species revamped have been completely ignored, such as two tentacles mcgee the Hydrus Harvester. The biggest problem with this is that assigning species to a specific artist does not work and has resulted in a pet site utterly neglecting so many of their old pets. That policy would only boost consistency if the artists were actually producing new pets and revamps consistently and I think we've seen that is not what's happened! Don't get me wrong, the new pets are cute and the new colors too, but I have to hold my Hydrus Harvester Treasureless above me head and yell "What happened here Subeta?"

pet revamp day once a month. just take a single pet and redraw the old sad art. make it like the challengers -- third friday of every month is a new revamp !! if you want to include the user base that keeps this place going why not have a poll after each for the next for a week and it gives time to get the next one going ??

I started to play this site back when we hadn't had any wardrobe or wearables! A pet-focused site. Wearables are great, yes, to wear and some also for TCs, but you are right, , there are more and more wearables, but where are the pets (and their revamps?) I'd love to see more colors and especially some revamps, because my pets and working on them is that, what keeps me on subeta for nearly 12 yrs.

I'm not big on the pet side - won spotlight twice way back when and just..... stopped - I would be game for this. I like wearables a lot more but don't put all your eggs in one basket. I'm sure they'll be something for the more fashion-oriented people like myself too! I mean that in a "Hey, this inspires me to work on a pet" and not "yay wears."

Also, I want to work on Redwall more.

OMG! YES! My Aeanoids don't even have an artist! and they're in desperate need of some fresh water! Staff keeps on saying that pets will all eventually have all the colors or revamps ... but i see nuthin'

We had how many storm pet releases? One? And spring is already over, so now we're gonna have to wait an entire YEAR to get another one? I GET the "only releasing colors at certain times of the year" thing but holy sweet damn it should not take literal years for some pets thatve been around forever (the Legeica) to get another color when a pet just released gets like everything. But sometimes even that doesn't happen (hello yaherra)

I'm glad someone else made this post and not me because I get so upset and grumpy. I get that the site has other things. HAs didn't exist when I joined. Sometimes we'll get tons of pet stuff for a while but then it'll be months upon months with like... 2 pet color releases. It was fun that the blob had its month but how about some general love for pets and getting out colors we've been waiting for for YEARS. I think it took like 4 years for the reborn Legeica to be released. Wtf, seriously.

And this isn't a dig at the artists. I love they work they do on the pets, consistently. It's just. It's so frustrating when I'm checking this site every day and it's like oh. Another cash shop collection of clothes I won't buy or want maybe one piece of. Maybe this season we'll get THREE pets released and 2 of them will be revamps.

Sigh.

i love making ha's and buying wearables and generally participating in that part of the site! but we have so many wearables that when no new ones come out for a month it doesn't feel as empty as no new pet releases in a month ;; hopefully that makes sense? i'm sorry i'm tired

and i also wouldn't really mind having pets come out regardless of season! i know pets take a long time and really appreciate all the ones we get! ❤️ but at the same time it can be a bit disheartening when, for instance, you really like storm pets but don't like any of the ones that came out at vesnali, and then have to wait another year for more :c

I am still so sad that some of the pets I've been looking forward too have not yet been released (NM Zentu, Storm Legeica, etc.) But also, can the Aeanoid and Illumis get some love? They are both in serious need of a revamp, and they do have cool ideas/designs, they've just been stuck with the old art for so long! I agreeee

I agree with a lot of this. I've been waiting to see the spectrum tigrean since i joined over 7 years ago. I get that pets can take a while to draw, especially really detailed ones like the zentu. And I get that pet colors are considered seasonal... but they don't have to be. Example reborn pets only happen during fireside but why? What if there's a blistering hot summer day in subeta and a reborn pet happened. I like that the monthly theme seems to be water or something so some aqua pets came out. Colors can be released any time if some story is put into it.

I legit thought this was going to be more about like, make pets a bigger part of subeta (outside of just pet slots and lifelike dolls) and I was getting ready to pause this documentary, grab a mimosa, and get to thought blasting. Pet colors are cool too though.

Personally I do really like the monthly pet theme, or even monthly theme of a type of pets (let's face it, we've got like 10 canines, 10 dragons, etcetc)? Like feline appreciation month, with a ton of feline toys and items (even big kitties like boxes okay).

And I know art happens when it wants, you can't force it otherwise the artist will hate it and the users will say "I waited my entire life for a spectrum mahar and this is it....", but if nothing else I'd really love to see more colorfills? Like there's so many beautiful color pallets that're created for events and 99% of the time it's like WHY THIS NO COLOR (Rift, Saheric, those soft pink Peppermint plushies). Or colors in general that're not really represented (burgundy, black & white, peach, sunflower yellow, retro with those hidiously beautiful olive greens and oranges and stuff from the 70s, I could go on forever).

And idk I'm probably a minority but I am a 100% fan of special poses being redone to be an other thing (spectrum/blacklight and glade/harvest) and I feel like a few colors would really work with that (galactic... namely).

I totally support any ideas that would bring more focus on pets. I just have this unfounded fondness of subeta pets. Also would it be such an unrealistic dream to have certain colored pets released not during their corresponding holidays? I kinda love to see some randomness/surprises in this, but maybe it's just me.

I'd honestly prefer seeing revamps of existing pets or new redraw colours than seeing new species being released. That, and i'm very concerned to hear there's really only a few pet artists around. Off the top of my head, that's /Jill, Goth, Rah, Hagane, and Alyssa. Forgive me if I forgot anyone. 5 artists and over 60 species of pets with loads of colour combinations and revamps to do? Yikes.

I'm all for a month dedicated solely to pets. How many kinds of shoes or shirt wearables does the site need anyways? Or better yet, next year's monthly themes can celebrate 4-5 species per month. Group them however, but make it happen.

omg I forgot Tigreans don't come in Angelic or even spectrum! SPECTRUM! but I'm cool with waiting longer if it means we finally get glacier tigrean revamp this year

We had a period in the site's lifetime where artists were told to produce less minions compared to the rest of the content onsite, because minions were a big cut of the released items.

For years now, wearables have been that. It's easy to go and make 10 colors of a pair of shoes, or 7 colors of a wig. But, for people who don't care that much about the wardrobe, it can be underwhelming

I'd love to get more pet content, but a cynical part of me would feel like it's too little too late.
