So we have had a series of changes in rsing coz things have been the same since forever. With each change something 'broke' and several so-called 'fixes' later rsing has been decimated! stocks dont show up on ss, shops rs in increasing gaps, there are too many of an item and none of many others. Each fix breaks something and each break is patched up with another fix. So stop fixing to break more and unfix everything to revert to original allegedly broken since 2008 rs system!

I agree. There was no need to change anything because the old system worked.

Wow do I agree with you on that restocking is really getting to be a joke same items time and time again and as you said to many of one.

Restocking is getting like Microsoft bring out something new and bam there is a fix right away

Yeah please, that needs to happen... otherwise I'm going to lose my patience on the current restocking system. It's so broken beyond hell and I didn't manage to restock anything good in the past weeks (and I'm online a lot). The old system worked so perfectly; good restocking times, balanced amount of items stocking in general, the shop clearing happened frequently to reduce the lag if shops get too crowded with crap. I didn't even understand why it needed to be revamped in the first place? Someone please enlighten me on that, yes?

Totally in agreement!! The old "broke" system was perfect and really didn't need any fixes at all imo. The new system is the one that is broken and in constant need of fixes that just keep making things worse. Those of us who restock know the system and it is in a horrible mess.

Omg yes please! I haven't really been restocking since the change, I just can't, this new system is terrible. It worked great before... I was a little excited about some of the changes (where some old items would eventually retire), but this is ridiculous.

I haven't been able to restock /anything/ since everything went to hell, and as a frequent RSer, I'm annoyed.

Literally every topic about this problem has no staff response and I am starting to get seriously disgusted with how this is being handled. Not even a /word/ as to what they're thinking about doing while every single other bug made in the bugs forum immediately gets looked at. We are obviously getting ignored about this obvious issue.

Last week-ish, when there was a 'fix' to end long wait times, I managed to stock up a bunch of normals/rares to sell slowly. But since then, it has been horrible. I never see restocks. They are always the same common items. I have gone through all my reserve items, and can't replenish.

The changes sounded so nice in theory, and maybe they would have been nice... if they had ever worked properly. Problem is, they haven't been working properly, and now things are even worse. :I

yeah like… i'm not one to get all in a tizzy about this sort of stuff but it's really kind of unacceptable the way this issue has been handled… seems like the staff are willing to respond to just about any issue except how fucked up restocking has gotten. i don't restock a lot but i've been checking the shops pretty regularly lately and it's literally just the same crap piling up for days on end, and the thing with npc shops not showing up in shop search is seriously detrimental to a lot of players, so maybe… i dunno, fix it? except, fixing that will probably just break something else so… idk, maybe just undo everything they've changed.

I very much agree with all things said so far on this board. At this point what I find especially irritating is how Keith addressed this issue as a need to correct the economy but failed to first address vending (any restocking changes will have to be completely redone once vending is properly addressed, which absolutely has to happen if the real goal is to stabilize the economy) and now has also allowed this shop search glitch where it won't show NPC shop inventories to continue for long enough to really damage the economy. At this point, the changes absolutely should be rolled back, 100% agreed. Restocking is now a terrible system that didn't need to be messed around with from the start, and I was another regular restocker for the last two years. No one cared that the system was from 2008. It worked well for those of us who actually used it, and frankly it is far from the primary issues with the economy if we really want to get down to it. This new system is a nightmare with very few redeeming qualities, and I'm tired of hearing Keith hide behind these mysterious statements of "I've been watching today, and things seem to be fine."

For the record, things are not fine. Those of us who use this system everyday and used to enjoy doing so before this new system was implemented have been saying so for quite some time. I held my tongue for quite awhile to see how these RS changes would play out, but at this point it's really clear that this hasn't really worked at all. At some point, it's time to realize when shit has gone totally south and give end users what they want - a workable RS system (like the one we used to have that worked just fine). Not this junk that leaves all of us wanting to rip our hair out.

I agree the issue was never restocking. It was completely vending. And as someone who does vend (and honestly I frag 98% of what I vend) I still think vending needs to be majorly tweaked.

I popped into the Book Nook to see what was up and funnily enough one of the first books I saw was a Normal. But it was the only one. 1:90 books. How is that a 'Normal' rarity anyway?

I'm pretty out of the loop, like in the next county over, when it comes to RS -v- vending etc... but I gotta agree that if vending needs to be altered, it needs to be altered before restocking, how can you even tell if the 'fixes' are working like they should if there are multiple sources of items being dumped into the system like that? The moment you change vending it's going to impact restocking all over again.

[edit] Huh, so I waited for the next restock (4 mins for one then 2 mins for the next, I'm not having any weird long waits personally) and again, a Normal, but it was the same Normal and I can't see any others (although I might easily miss one). Not sure if that's relevant but with 94 Normal books to choose from, I'm a bit surprised that one showed up twice and all on it's lonesome.

This "fix" hasn't FIXED anything, and has only made things WORSE for arguably the majority of players on the site. And, worse, the ones of us who are being vocal in complaining are being either pooh-poohed or just outright ignored and it's getting rather disgusting. This level of disrespect for one's customer base is just glaringly unprofessional.

And then they wonder why the site is struggling... Gee, couldn't possibly be because you're steadily alienating and driving off every single one of your users. And then, hey, word of mouth spreads and fewer new people are willing to sign up for the site... =/

Ugh, was not even aware this was a bug. ;_; Is it because of the restocking changes?? I don't restock really, but I do quest as my main means of sP-making, so if quests are going to be drastically affected by this that's kind of meh...

Also agree that it would be nice if vending could get some form of attention, since I generally get a ton of copies of the same few items over and over again.

I just came back to Sub a few months ago out of frustration with another site and got back into restocking like a maniac. I was really good at it too, and it was basically the big draw for me aside from battling (which had it's own overhaul now too). The wardrobe is too much of a pain, I have a ton of the beanbags, and I really don't collect much else.

"Fixing" the restock system sounded good on paper, sort of, but in reality it's created mass chaos and one problem after another. I don't want to ditch sub again so soon because I do like it here, and I've invited friends over too. But I'm seriously getting frustrated with all of the changes to things that don't need help while things that do need it get ignored. My advice is like a lot of others here: fix the vending, revert restocking back to the days of old, and turn the attention on things that actually need help that have been sitting half finished for far too long.
