A short delay in shops stocking again after a clearout would have fixed the issue much more easily than this.
I agree. The entire method didn't need changed. We didn't need more things messed up on the site.
Keith/Subeta! Fix the things that are broken. Don't ignore the manymanymany broken things and go around breaking things that work. Please.
The fact that the "shelved" items are rising in price....what's the point? So de-valuing the rarer items is a good thing? Not sure how that even seems logical.
I've noticed a rise in prices of more common items and rares because people have been fragging like MAD over the latest additions to the Crystal Shop. I know I'm having a harder time finding frag fodder as of late..... shrugs
Restocking wasn't broken. Why fix it? Now the shop RS timers are at way longer intervals, with one or two items at a time RSing? No shop clearing thru the day? And it's all of the same items every time.
However, there's been a steady increase of VENDING, due to the exclusive items being in certian vending machines, as well as event tie-ins, like during Keel Hauliday - one particular machine was vending retired pirate items, so people vended like crazy. Then another vending machine was given rare, "exclusive" items so people vended THERE like crazy. There was a HUGE glut of minions after Keel Hauliday in the Donation Center, and their values fell so far that it was crazy. And now that the shops aren't RSing and clearing regularly like they had before, more and more users are turning to vending to RS their shops and try to turn a profit.
I agree with the OP, please unfix the shops.
It took 30 mins to restock, and when it did, all it did was add a couple more brass hookahs? Nice stock you've got there lady.

I try not to ping you to feedback posts since I get that you're busy, but I would like to please ask you a question that I hope you'll find the time to respond to if possible. I'd like to know your overall feedback on the recent RS changes and if rolling back the RS system, at least for the time being until a better solution can be found that truly focuses on stabilizing the economy as a whole, is even an option?
Users have been reaching out to you for quite some time through multiple threads on multiple forums wanting to work on this issue but aren't getting much response other than "things seem fine" and "we just need to tweak something here or there, and it'll work great." This system has been a nightmare to actually use, which I understand that you probably don't really see because you don't appear to actually use the RS system much (if at all). You program and don't really play Subeta quite like the rest of us, so your world is more of the analytics that we don't see either. That disconnect doesn't help in this situation, nor does the lack of communication coming from the site to date. Your users are generally not happy with these recent RS changes based on the feedback posted and, for the most part it appears, don't believe that the old system should have been the first thing to be revamped in an effort to stabilize the economy anyway (to reiterate from prior posts, vending really has to be addressed first from an economic standpoint - something us users have vocalized quite a bit in various threads and have volunteered lots of ideas on how to fix in the brainstorming thread you originally created a little over a month ago). The economy is in much worse shape right now than it was before these changes were implemented as well, and there's no denying that's the case. Questing is starting to take a hit from these changes too, so the negative impact is continuing to spider to other site features. It's yet another consequential impact of prices being all over the place since items aren't properly stocking any longer (plus the recent shop search glitch really hurt item prices/availability in user shops too), and it's only going to continue happening. For that reason, the issues caused by the recent RS changes really do need to be addressed and truly fixed soon (even if that means scrapping the current RS changes and going back to the drawing board to come up with a well thought out, comprehensive strategic plan for stabilizing Subeta's economy as a whole - something that some your users appear to have at least a few ideas about how to accomplish too). Can you please comment?
I came back after a 3 year break and I am genuinely saddened to see how broken restocking is, I mean don't get me wrong there's been some great additions since I last here but it does seem to draw attention away from the fundamental flaws. I mean i joined the site over 7 years ago and I've seen it change and evolve a hell of a lot but for something so central as the main shops to have gone so catastrophically wrong is so sad, particularly when the reason I left other pet sites was because the restocking was so difficult - I only hope the staff can get this sorted.
Magic Box Restocked 44 minutes ago Spells Galore Restocked 25 minutes ago Plushie Parlour Restocked 27 minutes ago
i swear i get one or less super rares a day now which is really fucking sad
I hope everyone on that panel is getting paid. :P

I am literally giving up on RSing (with the exception of quests) until this is resolved. Shops are rarely stocking most of the time, and when they do it's just additions to the items that are already available. Not to mention, many of the rarity 1-65 items are rarely restocking anymore as well, and rare items are basically nowhere to be seen. I'm just done.

Hell, I'd volunteer my time for free if it would get us moving in the direction of a truly stable economy with a workable RS system (amongst other site features).
Seriously wondering what was so broken with the old 2008 system.
RSing has been a wild ride since the captchas were removed tbh, and now it's just broken. I'm really, really unhappy about this.
I totally agree with everything you said something really has to be done about this.
This place Used to be great at listening to what the people said about things on here but lately with all the topics made about the shops is seems no one is taking heed of what is said,A lot of users make their sp with restocking but no one will make anything with all the crap that is in the shops just now same items time and time again. It could end up that subeta will have no one here at all
Also like, I've been trying to RS a little before I have to work, and Food hasn't restocked in 17 mins, Book Nook in 10... I'm pretty sure I saw 22 minutes for Plushie Parlor. And these are shops that used to RS much faster.
Can't imagine even attempting Cavern of Cuiros or Magic Box. sadface
- please give us an answer.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm still trying to rs bc I've been stuck with nothing to do due to back issues. I can rarely catch anything and I'm not just talking super rare. I mean normals and up that are usually good for resale. Restocking is my only income so without it working properly there is no reason for me to continue playing on the site. Questing doesn't pay enough for me to buy all the things I want so it is only a supplement to my income. Those two things pay for my collecting addiction and if the main one is broken why bother. I understand wanting to update things and keep the site fresh. But when the main component of the site isn't broke why mess with it?
What amazes me is the lack of any staff getting involved in the conversation. Normally staff is awesome about responding and I've always appreciated that.I've been here 8yrs or so and love not only the site but the staff. Everyone has always been friendly, helpful, and involved that is one of the reasons I'm here. Neo never seemed to care so I was shocked when this place was so different. But this time it is like the ignore button has been pushed and all of the posts haven't even been seen. Suggestions were asked for earlier and here we all are speaking up but getting nothing in return. In all my time here this is the only instance I can think of when an issue has been so ignored. I realized users can't have everything we want because we don't know what is going on behind the scene. But when an issue is resulting in so much feedback I think being acknowledged isn't asking too much.
@ Keith - please give us an answer.
I'll get an answer in Subeta's definition of soon. :D
Here's what I think may have happened, judging by the complete silence we're getting:
Keith hates restocking. That writing on the wall has been there for a long time. But, he can't completely remove it from the site, because it's a major site feature and there would be an outcry. So maybe he does the next best thing -- he "fixes" it. He's always said he doesn't think a lot of people restock, so by pushing an annoying but less-noticeable than deleting the whole concept "fix", he only drives away that very small, small number of people (in his mind) who restock actively and would notice the changes. No people who restock left, restocking's essentially killed without ACTUALLY removing it from the site. Boom.
I don't think he saw this level of backlash coming, and now he's in over his head and doesn't know what to do, so we just get no response at all.
Just my personal theory.
