May I ask why Horns & Roses supporters got finalists and genre winners prizes too? Like how was being a finalist/genre winner special if they just give winning supporters twice the stuff they gave to you? Of course, their band won, but still, I think there should be at least one exclusive prize for band members only.

[edit] Just want to point out some interesting quotes for those not interested in reading the whole thread :)

Quote by Walrus
I was one of the top scorers (either or ) and it looks like my "special" prizes were a Blacklight Potion and a Spectrum Potion. Two items that have been on the site for years, both of which I already have sitting in my Vault.
Quote by Haan
I could&;ve just picked any random band, submitted a single point for their favor(or actually no, I wouldn&;t even had needed to do that) and gotten multiple times more prizes than I did now -I just... and hearing about what the top three scorers got makes me almost happy that I didn&;t end up restarting the game every time I got only a thousand points just so I could try again. <:/ These players got hundreds of times higher scores during their winning rounds alone than your average user did(not to mention the thousands of points they got during some of their non-winning rounds, too!) and the prizes they&;re getting are in absolutely no way fair for them.

First and foremost, I hated (no, not disliked, hated) this event. I really did not enjoy it, and this event literally did not support <del>fun</del> at all. It supported you better pick the winning team or you&;re SOL which is evident by the fact that some people like spent hours... HOURS playing one game for points, and got less prices than someone who could have played a few games for the winning team and got EIGHT exclusive items. That is ridiculous. Ridiculous.

DISCLAIMER BEFORE I SAY ANYTHING ELSE: I don&;t mean ill-will to the winning team. I don&;t want their heads on stakes, I don&;t want them to lose their items, they had a snazzy theme and they signal boosted the hell out of their band. I don&;t think they deserved as many exclusive items as they received, unless the bulk of those items were ALSO put in the cash shop like the prizes were from the CW contest, but they definitely deserved at least a few. No other event in the history of subeta has awarded EIGHT top things to anyone. Even the pandemic plot just gave the love shield and the v2 skin. Not eight things.

Problem 1. There were 30 some odd choices to pick from when picking the team you wanted to support. That&;s FAR too many considering if you didn&;t pick the WINNING team you were SOL in the bulk of prizes department, and considering how many prizes they got-- this is very unfair.

This plot didn&;t support having a fun time. Instead of picking a fun theme, having a good time getting people to support your band.. this was literally just pick the winner. If you made your own band that made it to the finals unless you won you were basically SOL. If you didn&;t support the winners, you were SOL. Earning 1 point for the winning team should NEVER give you more prizes than someone who spent HOURS playing a very obnoxious (endless) game. Not fun, didn&;t enjoy.

This would have been better if:

There were 2-3 NPC bands to pick from, instead of user made bands (it was cute, but the "finalists" should have been NPC bands).

There was several ways to make points (select game or games, restocking, and battling.. maybe even questing).

Top score users for the winning band could "help" their band make their items.

The VIP tickets were time based instead of number based. One per account, too.

If I was any of the members of the other 24 bands that didn&;t get first, runner-up, or genre winner, I would be wishing my band hadn&;t made finalists.

Pretty much! It just seems bizarre that for being picked as a finalist, I actually had a worse chance of winning prizes. Much as I loved our band (manly arm pump for my Town Folks ladies) we had rather...ahem...niche appeal and realistically we were never even in the running to win the competition, though some of my bandmates worked hard on the forums regardless.

I really wish I could have been a supporter instead of a finalist.

I think my favorite thing about the prize distribution is the reasoning. Because 1. The items aren&;t really any less rare or expensive. All giving it to HnR supporters did was allow them to potentially just put 100 mil. in their pocket by the end of the weekend.
2. Like I said, the items aren&;t any less rare. This isn&;t how you are supposed to distribute items onto the site if you want a decent amount to be available.
3. What? I don&;t really understand the logic of giving items to users if you are wanting them to get into the market. I mean, for prizes of plots and stuff I figure items are given out with the intention of being kept on the account they were given, but users who turn around and sell them are taken into account as outliers. So just picking a group of people based on an aspect that didn&;t involve the work and time they put into the event to be the majority controller in the reselling of these items still makes very little sense to me.
4. I mean really, is the entire reasoning just something you guys made up? Literally 98% of Sticker collectors already got fucked over when you released the What exactly determines when and how you should fuck over collectors and when you should make the effort to pretend like you&;re not screwing them over?

tbh, I&;m still bitter for xD Even if she sells those potions she&;s going to have to work a LOT harder to earn the sP needed to buy the items she wasn&;t able to obtain in this event.

So, since the winning two bands&; supporters were listed, let&;s calculate how much time people put in this game in average, shall we?

HnR: 251 members - 350,161p = 1395p/member = 93p per game (1 min, 31 seconds per game)
Grannies: 344 members - 345,064p = 1003p/member = 67p per game (1 min, 11 seconds per game)
Average of both: 80p per game (1 min, 23 seconds)

Dreadnought&;s winning game: 17.560p(estimated solid game time: 5h, 51 min = 254 times the average)
Assiejj_x&;s winning game: 10.085p (time est: 3h, 24 min = 144 x average)
Walrus&; winning game: 9.584p (time est: 3h, 11 min = 132 x the average)

Food for thought.

Horns & Roses supports got stuff like the flyers due to the fact that they would have been fairly limited (more limited than the Horns & Roses items) due to the number of people that supported those bands. In order to alleviate the problem, they released them to our supporters as well!

Was it the pamphlet and the candies? Because H&R supporters also got those.

I can see your point, but still find it kinda weird that those that didn't make it to the finals and then supported H&Rs got much more prizes than genre winners and finalists.

Ah, I imagined. This thread was for finalists and genre winners though. H&Rs band members deserve the prizes because they won :P But supporters getting all (but one) prizes too is what ticks me off.

May I ask why is that? I'm not trying to create drama or anything, seriously. Just makes me super curious.

I'm not saying supporters didn't work hard. They did, their band won after all. But finalists and genre winners worked hard in a different way, getting a good name, description, outfits (ugh this was a pain) and then also playing Street Team.

mostly so that nothing other than the h&r-band-exclusive item was mega-mega-mega-mega rare. like there's still not very many of them overall (a few hundred total), but still a potentially obtainable goal if someone really wanted to go for it.

But the distribution of ALL the prizes within a small group of people made it unfair for the rest. Maybe give H&Rs supporters an amount of random prizes, but not every of them. Maybe for the next BotB, hopefully?

I can see why HnR supporters would get almost every prize, since this was something that was won based on how much effort your fans put into it.

Still, I do think it would be cute if all the finalist members got a trophy or forum title or something..? (users almost never get trophies for anything anymore) I think there were a lot of band applicants to beat and all the finalists were amazing. They should get something special out of it.

I did put all my feedback in the form so I don't really have anything to add to feedback boards, but this is one thing I didn't add to my answers: I do vote for giving members of winning bands (and finalist bands) trophies based on how well they did on the finals. Supporters could have medals of the same color of their band's trophies.

Being one of the people who needs to get their hands on the supporter prizes, I'm all for more of them going out :P Though I did expect them to be more exclusive (so, so happy they aren't though) and I agree that a forum title or something would be cute for the band members only c:

I don't mind supporters getting lots of prizes, but I actually feel a bit disappointed that my band made it into the finals, because I would have got much better prizes if we hadn't.

I still really enjoyed Peka-Boo, though.
