Let's be honest, I liked the concepts of the fashion shop and the food carts and these need to be back like hell yeah. And the goat as well. Sure. Bring back the goat.

Everything else. Yeah no.

I have to agree with everyone else about the prize shop. I played a lot and got the high tier sticker reward, but I don't even want it? If I had known that all that work would have gotten me a freaking sticker I wouldn't have even bothered. However if I could have racked up points to use in a prize shop maybe I would have been able to buy the one prize that I actually wanted instead of getting a few crappy prizes. I was completely in love with the band I supported but they won absolutely nothing, and neither did I...

I know my band members and I had a great time with this event. I said multiple times that I didn&;t even care if we won (I mean, it&;s great that we did, but it became less of a priority) because I simply had a great time talking with our supporters. I think this event promoted (or at least, for me it promoted) a level of interaction I haven&;t gotten from any other event. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting a ton of new people, and it was the most active I&;ve been on the forums in a very long time. Heck, we even interacted with people from other bands whenever they would stop by our boards, and I really enjoyed that as well! I know a lot of our band members said that they really enjoyed this event because they had a chance to talk with us and interact with the band members! 8)

I don&;t know how it was for people of other bands/supporters of other bands, but this is how it was from my perspective.

The roleplay and interaction aspects of the event did look REALLY entertaining, from what I saw. Those were entirely user-created aspects, though, and not an integral part of the plot, or anything that directly gained a band any points. I'm glad that some people had a good time at least, and your band was a ton of fun to observe.

That doesn't really salvage this event for me or most other users, though - if I want to RP or chat on the forums, I can do that anytime. If I want to make friends, I'll go make friends. Subeta events, as said, are inevitably about the endgame - you participate because there will be prizes and you will need those prizes (or a ton of money to buy them from someone else).

For me personally, every event on this site is a mind game where I need to gauge how much of my life I want to waste participating VS how worth my trouble it's likely to be. Usually I regret the hours I've thrown away doing repetitive, joyless tasks - this time I was thankfully too busy working and drinking tequila to care about playing the game, and my total lack of effort left me in the exact same place as a ton of work would have. I'm grateful, honestly. |D But I feel sorry for anyone who really tried this time around, because thanks to past events, I'm all too familiar with that feeling of, "I just spent a week depriving myself of sleep and free time, and I have nothing to show for it."

Honestly, if instead of HnR supporters getting EVERYTHING (or virtually everything), all the prizes - at the very least collection items and wearables - should have been put in the cash shop, or a prize shop should have been put together, with a one-item-per-account rule or somesuch. Doing it this way instead just... leaves a weird taste in my mouth, and I rarely if ever feel down about the decisions Subeta makes! I understand the reasoning behind this choice, but... why not a prize shop? why not put stuff in the cash shop? When we've waited nearly a month for the prizes (again, I understand why we've had to wait), I'm guessing there'd have been time to do that...? Argh, I just hate reading so many disappointed forum posts and news comments, when I just can't fathom why the prizes have been given out this way :c

I don't know I just think that they had this amazing, fun event and a huge opportunity to do the prize thing right and it was kind of a fail for people actually in the band. idk, it's kind of a let down, we had to wait weeks and they did say that we would get special awards if you're in a chosen band but then they didn't actually do it. Like I loved it and had so much fun and I hate complaining about this but.. At the same time it's not 100% fair to say one thing and do another.

I hope to never see this event again. Once I figured out the shrub it was fun even if I only granted one wish a day. The goat was the best part. The fashion and food shops were awesome.

See, this is why I really didn't even want to see the prizes after it took so long to come out. I should have learned by now that to get the best out of any popularity voting event is to wait and see who everyone is for and don't even try to enter for myself. Screw the others in the event.

Really, by now I thought it was well know any type of popularity contest/HA contest isn't going to end well on this site. Yet we still keep getting them. :(

I totally was for this event at first because I thought it would be NPC bands. Then a bit against it when I thought maybe it we were going to vote on the bands ala HA contests voting.

I clocked out of this event when the only way to "support" was to play that damn game. I am sorry to the band I accidentally "supported".

That's definitely a fair point, and I definitely understand where you and others are coming from (and, like I said 2?? pages back, I definitely think prizes could have been handled better!). I know it's not necessarily an integral part of the event! I just felt that it was encouraged to the bands to create those aspects in order to garner support, at least a little bit!! I'm glad you thought we were fun to observe! 8) It was these user interactions that made this event fun for me, and I admit that I wouldn't have enjoyed them as much if I didn't have them!

I definitely know this feeling. ; __ ; I remember back during the Luminaire event (late 2012/early 2013?? I think it was...) I was around 30 or so points away from the top tier prize. I spent so much time battling the smaller opponents over and over since my pet was only tier 4 at the time, so I definitely get why everyone feels the way they do about this in regards to how the prizes were handled!!

I agree with both of you. I feel that the event had a lot of potential and ended up being a huge disappointment. It's always easier to say, should have done this and that in hindsight, but it seems pretty obvious that this event was rather poorly planned.

I feel that

 1. points need to be normalized/averaged or something of the sort. If im not mistaken, the threads with the most posts in the BoTB forums ended up being the winners. Thus, one could join the winning team just like that without actually contributing much (if at all).

 2. this event had no real participation/reward other than that one game. Even though I thought EPICon was too tedious, I liked the fact that if i put in the time, I could get the points and rewards. There needs to be a better participation to reward balance.

 3. prize shop seems necessary in events such as this. Seems kinda BS that there is an exclusive item(s?) to winning team, despite the fact that the supporters were the ones that won it for them. In the case of a prize shop, they could have just gotten more points.

 4. this event could have/should have been bigger; IE have other aspects of participation. Other than that one flash game (and maybe the shrub) one did not have to participate at all to get the basic prizes.

I thought somewhere someone had said that prize shops were going to be how all event prizes were released, that way people could pick and choose what they wanted. I would definitely prefer prize shops over this. I might use that tattoo wearable but the others are probably just going to rot on my account.

I am confused how I managed the sticker for the top % scores because I looked around the forums and my scores were no where near the high scores I was seeing

I honestly love everything you post on forums. Seriously. And I almost always agree 100%.

I didn't really like this event. Between the shrub and the wait time on trucks and the fact that the only things to do where feed a goat and buy things, it was almost pointed.

Though I had a lot of fun with the band and the meet-and-greet. I was a little urked that we lost by so few points but all the bands were amazing so anyone who won would've been good... I was fine until the prizes were distributed, and the way they were distributed. I don't see why HnR supporters got EVERY SINGLE ITEM. Genre winners didn't even get exclusive items. What was the point of having genre winners when they didn't win anything special? And all the bands that didn't make finals? Come on, even the people that submitted CWs for the contest got special items. But putting a band together doesn't qualify for that?

The game. Just... no. The game was a joke.

Andrea, please just run the site. NPC bands would've been a way better idea. Just please.

Yeah, I would have liked a prize shop even if I only ended up with like 10 points. I got three items I didn't care for nor actually wanted. At this point with the fighting and name calling over how the prizes were rewarded, every single item now leaves a bad taste in my mouth. So I deleted the items and am a bit sad I bought that tattoo out of shops. I don't even know if I can place it in my pet's TC. :(

oh there's definitely potential (and i admit the food truck/merch tent atmosphere was a really cute idea), but as it stands, i have a hard time describing this event without using the word "cluster."

but overall, yes, a lot of people had a lot of fun with this event. however, any time i hear recollections of said fun, it seems to pertain to the user-created aspects of the event. you and your friends got together on your respective threads and made your own fun. sure, the platform was given to you by the site, but ultimately the experience was of your own hand, make no mistake.

then there were people like me who participated in all the site-hosted activities but paid no mind to the user aspect of things, and i've got my own reasons for that. i mean i played the hell out of that one game, as i was under the impression that my effort would be somehow rewarded (and that's my fault for thinking that, i suppose), but everything still just... fell really flat.

and i honestly feel like that month's wait for prizes should have acted as some kind of foreshadowing. anything that takes that long can't be good news.

Speaking of NPC bands when they first opened the battle of the bands thingy I thought that the winners would be made into NPCs for the site as well. Wouldn't that be adorable.

Like I had an expectation of NPC bands, but as soon as I saw that the user base was to make bands, I had popularity contest flashbacks. After that, I wasn't too interested in this event, and I supported no one. I'm glad I didn't because with how this was handled, I'd just be too pissed.

I have always preferred prize shops and I'm disappointed to see that they didn't come into play this time.

It really was a bland event. WTB tie in to Subeta lore!

- Hell no. Seriously...hell no. Subeta users don't need to be immortalized in the game's lore. What makes them any more special than other members on the site?

I played the games like maybe 10 times (and not very well at that). So idk on how they are tiering the scores, and whether its for an individual high score or for an aggregated score.

My guess, however, is that most people either didnt participate, or tried 1/2 times and just flat out gave up. So the scores are skewed.

Overall I loved the event. The food trucks and merch tents were the best. I also enjoyed the wishing shrub a lot. Battle of the Bands...eh not quite as much. I'm not really much of a competition person though. I loved to see all the band themes people came up with.

As for the prizes, I think everything was relatively fair. My band made it to finals, but didn't win category. It's fine. Everyone did great. It's too bad some people are being sore losers :c But that's what happens with contests I suppose.

Its sad because really, i loved doing this event! It was great to make up the bands, coordinate, meet new cool people, and rally up support!

The item distribution was...odd. Of course, i understand how items were given out so that the user base could have access to them, but it felt weird how the winners of the events didn't exactly get anything....special. Like I really think a forum title to all the users who placed really would have been great, because it gives us a little pat on the back, something to ourselves, without it being a huge whine from other players of "but //I// wanted that!" And of course the title could be recycled into the next event but....

I just think distribution needs to be tweaked somehow. I feel like a dork for enjoying this event so much, because it felt...mellow enough. With little changes here and there I think it'll come around to being a lot more successful.
