I'm actually really disappointed it wasn't done this way. We earned points, why not be able to spend them?
Exactly. Even if it's winning a genre (against a lot of people)
Holy shit. A ton of vitriol everywhere. :c I agree with about it seeming out of proportion. Everything seems out of proportion.
Like with what said, genre winners didn't even get ONE item tailored to their bands. I mean I wasn't expecting a Chai Punk wearable. Or a book. Or anything that is super wanted based on its item type (like just give me a minion or idk useless item but just give me ONE item?). Was ONE item too much to ask for? I don't want to sound like a greedy little bugger, but that would have really meant a lot to not only me, but my fellow bandmate (sorry , I know I'm speaking for you but I think you would agree in this case) AND our fellow supporters. I mean they chose to support us over 29 other bands. That's A LOT of bands to choose from. Idk how they chose it... whether at random or whether they loved our idea, but either way, it felt really nice to see people come in and say they're supporting us, and we really hoped that they wouldn't be let down for it. Being genre winners, ONE specifically tailored item would have been enough for me. It would have at least maybe taken a little bit of the sting of not winning 16 or 18 or whatever the number of prizes HnR supporters won. I'm not saying HnR sucks and doesn't deserve anything. Their concept and items are awesome and they SHOULD get something to show for winning botb. But it just feels like a big fuck you to the rest of the genre winners, Granny Smiths not withstanding (because prize distribution, much?). I mean one... that's all I wanted. Oh well. xD I guess I got greedy thinking genre finalist meant anything more than diddly squat.
Though I guess I find some comfort that of all the street team plushies, they gave the chai over to electronic, which I hope wasn't just a coincidence haha. X)
I'll know better than to expect prizes to be proportional or to try so much next time.
I'm not even going to touch up on any other issues that others are doing a good job at explaining, because at this point, flabbergasted is a very good word to describe the state of my brain, and tbh idk if I even made sense with the above.
Tell me what the ghostly had to do with tempest sky, tho 8'D (I was happy for your Chai, it was on point eh eh)
Honestly, I feel disappointed. I was in a finalist band (not winning), and we put a whole lot of work in getting our band together, and then trying to get users to support us, etc. And then to learn that the winning band's supporters got more (a whole lot more) than finalists? So basically, if they just by sheer luck clicked the right band to support, but didn't actually support or send any scores, they still got ALL the band exclusive prizes? Doesn't sound right.
Still reading through this entire board, and this suggestion made so much more sense. Why can users think of this, but not the staff?
I'll just pretend it's not a street team chai. I mean ... we ain't using drums. Even a damn description referencing Chai Punk. I would have taken it out of desperation.
Ghostly ... tempest is scary too. Ghostly making cymbal noise is like thunder from a storm. Look at my beautiful poetry gosh don't you get it?????!! ;)
Right in the guts. Brb I need to cry out my feels.
Wish the prizes shop could let us pick what we wanted. And then on top of that, the grand champions (and other winners) get their exclusive items. I like prize shop :(
I agree that this was handled very badly, the lateness in particular was not appreciated. The next time we have to do something like this I'm going to pick the popular choice/obvious frontrunner.
However, I assumed that only the overall winning team would get custom-made band items because they were the only ones designing prizes. This was made very clear in the news.
Congrats to the winners, other bands, and users who are handling this gracefully.

I'm not saying much here, since everything I'd like to say has been said already and I am not going to repeat it like a broken record, but I feel bad for the Users who supported my band. Two Items (Concert Pamphlet and that Candy Bowl whatever thing) even only for the MEMBERS of a finalist band and not the supporters as well. Way to go. I'm gutted for the supporters of our band and the other finalists.
This gif sums up what I feel right now. Really.

My band made it to the finals, I played the game every day, but scored in the mediocre range. I feel that the eight items I received was fair, but that there was no relationship between game scores and prizes. Like others have commented, the top-scoring individuals really did get the shaft here. I think that maybe they should have received something other than a sticker--why not some of the items H&R members received since the staff wants more copies on the site anyway? These could even be rewarded retroactively.
There are also a lot of items awarded for just being on team H&R. I am all for exclusive items for the winners--but I was expecting 1-2 items, not as many as were given out.
As is becoming usual when it comes to feedback, I find myself agreeing with almost entirely. I did get some enjoyment out of the rest of the event (VIP disappointment aside), but I really dislike how BotB was run and the prize distibution. I'm glad I was on mobile for the duration and therefore couldn't play the game - if I'd spent hours playing it, I'd be more angry than disappointed, tbh.
WAIT A SEC, am i mistaken or is the rarer than (most, if not all) godlies.
EG. or even (that sold for 100k csc i think?), among others.
obviously, no one will pay that much for the HnR item (though idk, someone prove me wrong)
EDIT: I dont want to take anything away from then winners, they did great and deserved it. I just did not think that the site would give such LIMITED availability items.
From what i understood, I thought the staff wanted to go from exclusive items, hence why last year they made the EPICon store items/reading drive items so "CHEAP" and easily attainable.
I suppose if someone really WANTS it, they might pay VERY much for it. I've heard about Custom Wears going over the table for a ridiculous amount of csc (12k and above or so if I remember correctly)... but whatever.
That is true. I feel like it would have been better if it had gone like this: give the H&R supporters their special themed items, the H&R band members their exclusive eyeball, that's all fine and doesn't bother me, even the Granny Smiths got some special items which is also fine.
But as for the rest of the prizes there should have been a prize shop so you choose your own priorities. I don't get how people are angry in thinking that they're being accused of doing nothing because they supported H&R. Whether all the H&R fans played the game or not isn't in question, because I honestly don't care.
What I do care about is my own personal level of effort. Apparently I scored in the top 25% of scores and all I got for that was a sticker that I don't want. If this had gone the prize shop route I could have had points that I spent time earning, to spend on, say, the things I actually care about? Hint: not a freaking sticker.
In the end that would have worked out fine, imo. The winners got their special prizes for winning, and if they wanted the other things then they can go ahead and buy them from the prize shop.
Yeah and even those technically have more copies out than that item. Unless the owner of the cw hits the delete button on their only batch.
In its defense, it is a sexy color. :P In all seriousness, I didn't know it was rarer than some godlies. ;O Wow. I thought staff had something against things being that rare nowadays, but idk.
The lime eye compact was only awarded to the H&R band members, that's why it's so rare :)
I know. I think it's a very beautiful item and don't mind in the slightest that they got something. :) After all, they won botb. Everything else, I've already ranted about.
I have not read anything, but I am going to say that I am disappointed. I got a total of three things and I joined a band, supported a band (though they did not win), and played the flash game.
Three damn prizes for that? And I waited about a month for that? That's... well, disappointing, to put it nicely. I was not expecting a bunch of prizes, but I was hoping to get a few more things for playing the flash game when I could and trying to join a band.
Honestly, I am disappointed with the event. I have been since it started and the way these prizes were handed out just sort of... iced the cake as it were. Do I know how it could have been better? No, not really. So, maybe I should not complain too much on that. But when it comes to the prizes, why not just let us pick our own prizes based off of points? Why were people who just got lucky and picked the right band to win given more than the bands who were the top finalists in their genre?

After thinking about it, I'm glad I couldn't play the stupid game. Between plain out not being able to play, trying again and having the game play jerkily making it unplayable (every freaking time I tried to play), and getting motion sickness, all that wouldn't be worth it.
I too want to know exactly why the winning band got so many items? Some of those items could have been referencing the other finalists instead of one group. I guess that's what I get for thinking it would be one item made for the band, most likely a wearable, not a sticker (or other collection items). Why not reference the others since they couldn't support anyone else because they were in a band already? Why even go this route? Seriously.
Why not a prize shop? Keep that eye wearable as the EXCLUSIVE for the band only prize? Then have a wearable item related to the genre winners, an item thanking the supporters of the winner, a game related item for the top, what 10? scores, maybe a couple of consolation prizes for the rest of the supporters that's related to the event maybe referencing some of the other bands. Or why not put the other prizes as buyables in a shop? Hello sp sink since that seemed like the whole reason behind this event in the first place.
All of that right there is the main reason I hate any event we get. I hate not knowing if I'm even going to be rewarded for doing anything or rewarded for being lucky and picking the right group. I hate not knowing what we're suppose to be aiming for. Then getting basically kicked in the teeth and made to feel like you don't matter when you don't even win the top prize. I'm glad the band I joined didn't even make it. I feel so sorry to anyone who would have supported us and got shafted in the end. This all makes me dread any event with prizes.

I get that only the members of the band got it. And its great they got something for winning, they deserve something for winning.
I (just like ) thought that the staff said they were moving away from such exclusive items. Hence, why last year I thought they made EPICon/RD prizes cheaper/more easily attainable.
