I don't think it will be possible to counter the unhappiness of the collectors. How can you soften the pain of the plushie collectors who now have to pay an extra 150mil just because they didn't jump the winning ship.
With wears and food there isn't an achievement for having them all, but plushie, beanbag & sticker collectors are extremely easy to screw over.
It's just yikes that someone who played one game of 10 points but happened to be on the winning team got more than someone who scored insane amounts but not on the winning team. It's not rewarding the effort of the supporter, it is rewarding them for chosing the right team to support. Hundreds of millions of rare items for being on the right team and pretty much nothing for being on another team, what the fuck.
(I'm not saying everyone in the winning teams just sat back, obviously some worked their asses off otherwise they wouldn't have been where they were.)

Can we open a prize shop now? Are the scores still in the system? FIX THIS ALREADY.
It's pretty much too late for that. For a prize shop to work there would basically have to just be a rollback of the site I feel like. Too may prizes have already exchanged hands to delete them and start over. The people who already sold all their prizes would then basically be getting a double set for free.
What's done is done. We can only hope that this experience it taken to heart and that it doesn't happen again. Reward hard work, not being lucky and going with the crowd.
Edit: I'm not saying these should never be given out again. Crytal Shop, CS, Hustler, Millionaire Center etc could all be used in the future to get more of them out to the general public without screwing a lot of people over with a hasty decision.

totally agree.
As has been mentioned over on the achievements thread in the suggestions forum by a few people, I'd be completely willing and more than happy to spend either sp or csc to buy the prize items I missed out on. I'd just much rather use an sp sink method, and have a steady (if high) price rather than having to pay the currently massively inflated ballooning prices for prizes.
I could say a lot more but everyone else has said everything far better than I could have (all the quotes on the first post, for example). Rah, thanks for reading through everything and considering the feedback!
If anything, I think they should just redistribute the items (kind of like the tier thing where winners will get flyers and plushies, flyers go to all participants of genre, something like that). I know mentioned something about not knowing if it was worth it, esp since people have already paid high prices for some times, but come on, you guys readded old boutique, vanity sets, and hair coupons to the CS, and YOU KNOW people paid a shit ton for those before that happened. Subeta needs to stop being hypocritical and just do it already.
I think the issue of balance was ignored on so many levels
Balance in scoring points?
There was one game. A game that could be played on mobile devices. Nothing else to earn points (wasn't choosing a team suppossed to help?)
Balance in amount of prizes? There were 25 prizes. Almost a quarter which were dedicated and customized for the winning group. The second place in the genre got two customized prizes.
The people who won their genres (which should be a pretty important achievement) got a generic pamphlet like the other finalists.
People who worked their butts off with scores got prizes that made no sense, I really want to hear what the justification for giving them potions was.
Balance in time? Almost a month wait for prizes is ridiculous under any circumstance. The idea of customizing a prize is nice, but if it's going to honestly take that long I don't think it is fair to the users.
I'm really surprised that this wasn't foreseen. Peka-boo is new event, but Subeta has been doing event prizes for such a long time and has had plenty of feedback for what works and what doesn't. I can't remember an event where so much depended on the team you chose - in the Nico/Manwar thing both teams had access to the same prizes to spend the points they earned, with a bonus shop for the winning team that was mostly discounted stuff from the main shop. Even the Pirate/Islander war from a long time ago had a prize shop for each team where people spent the points they earned, with equally desirable prizes for the losing team.
🌂
Yes but those were all added after the initial release, years for some of the items. Let everything settle for a bit and stuff can still be added later to various part of the site for distribution.
I'm not saying this because I'm butt hurt over spending 200+mil on the items I didn't get. More people who enjoy them, the better. However it's only been a few days and there are likely tons of people who were gone all weekend and don't even have the prizes yet. Let the market for these stabilize a bit before more are given out. Opening a prize shop now would serve no purpose.

I kinda agree it's...a bit much. I mean I'm kind of bitter because I sort of figured they were going to win, but thought there would be a prize shop, so as long as I worked hard at the game and earned a lot of points, I could just choose a team I really liked better, and eh, if I missed out on one or two extra prizes, oh well.
This is kind of a serious question, but how exactly is this event the first of its kind? sP sinks? We've done before Games to earn points (although usually the points turn into a currency)? We've done before Popularity contests based on HAs? We've done before
Putting the same things in a different order doesn't make it a completely new thing. Research still could have been done and thought about regarding how prizes should be distributed and how they have been distributed in the past. Like a prize shop where HnR supporters get an access to a couple exclusive items. VIP areas of prize shops have been taken well from what I've known, but idk.
I feel like the entire prize distribution was gone about with the mentality of "Nothing like this has ever been done before! I can do whatever and can't be blamed because it's a first, how could I have possibly known that this is about as unbalanced as a Jenga tower built by a 2 year old." There were some things that were new-ish features like the Wishing Shrub, but this topic is about the prizes and how well they were distributed and things that affected prize outcomes were things that we'd seen in previous events, so... Is this a first based on what the actual event was? Or is this a first because this is the first event you've done now that Luxe is gone?

Staff, just please don't drag this out anymore. Fix what you need to in terms of rewarding game high scorers, genre winners, and band creators, but at this point I don't care at all about a late prize shop or achievements as someone who supported a losing team and was terrible at the Street Team game. I actually have a better opinion of (not that it was bad anyway), knowing that he wasn't involved in this fiasco. I do think this will be a rude awakening for him though.

there's needs to be better rationale/balance in the prizes. Usually, the more effort you put in, the better prizes you can afford/get. In this event, not many who put in a lot of time and effort were rewarded.
prize shop. That you pick and choose what you want. Some people only care abt wearables, others plushies. You cater to most. You scale prize costs in relation to average points earned and top scorers.
why does the VIP mean nothing? Other than the one achievement and "access" to certain items that people would happily buy for you anyway, there's no real point in spending csc for it.
needs more ways to earn points that caters to more aspects of site. People will always whine abt having to do tedious shit or repetitive crap. But, why should you get rewarded for doing the minima or nothing?
I don't want to take anything from the winners. They deserve (most of) it. Furthermore the event initially looked very promising. But ended up being anticlimactic, uninvolving and, basically, disappointing.
While this is the first "music festival" event this certainly is far from the first event staff has done. Subeta is about to celebrate it's 10 YEAR anniversary. That's long enough to figure out what works and what doesn't. Or, how to "cook a good pancake"
And frankly, it doesn't take anything but common sense to see that the way these prizes were distributed was illogical and unfair.
Events like this coupled with the never-ending cycle of features being "fixed" only to break again in a few days time has me at the point where I simply do not have faith in the staff of this site to create entertaining, fun and FAIR events for users. It's clear that things are either rushed and not fully thought out...
I miss
Don't we all?
That lack of planning would never have flown with her
As I have already said, I am going to look into implementing some achievements and forum titles, and also I feel trophies would be a nice addition.
This event was new in that it was a user participation as a group event. It was important to get followers for your band as much as it was important to send scores. There was no prize shop because many users were unable to send scores or play the game, but they were still participating on the boards and dressing up and having fun. When Horns and Roses won, they won as a group, including their supporters. To some this is simply luck that a few people just joined the group and didn't do anything and won a lot of prizes, but each person that joined that band as a supporter contributed points just by being a supporter. The band themselves rallied a good portion of their group to submit points - and whilst there were a few people that 'didn't do much' the fact is that this group got to the end because of its supporters, and for this particular competition I didn't want to lessen the prizes for people who weren't as good at the game we provided. Another year, when we have more ways of getting points, then yes. But this first year, I went for prizes for all winners rather than tiering them.
A large portion of the survey feedback tells me that this event was enjoyed by the majority of people, and that they liked the different way of participating. I can see that you're frustrated here but I cannot answer questions like 'why on earth would you do it this way' and 'how didn't you think of this?' because these were the decisions that we made and hindsight is a great thing.
User prices of prizes have not settled down yet. We took data as to how many were awarded vs. how many people are serious collectors. We wanted prizes to have value, because they are prizes. Next time, there will be more ways to get points, and a prize shop instead.
I am still looking into rewarding the top scorers in a more acceptable way.
This board is about feedback on the prizes, and I am happy to continue trying to make that better for you. But if it continues to get personal towards members of staff, this board will be locked.
I'm sorry subeta, but you failed. Two potions for scores of 10k+ when others were getting around 100?
I'm losing it, for real. I feel sorry for these people to be fooled this way, as for me that's a sign of no respect, and that's so sad because these are people who actually care about subeta and take part of site events for 100%, not just joining the team that might be winning and play once to get all the prizes.
I'm so disappointed in you Subeta, I lost interest in your future events if u treat your users, customers, this way.

Well, I know some people do not miss her but I certainly think the events that occurred under her leadership seemed like they were planned out better (even though most still had their issues)
This was the first subeta event that didn't spark my interest at all because it was clearly a contest of whom could bribe the most people with the most desirable things the fastest. Good for those that enjoy the used car salesman approach to gaming, but I knew the odds weren't in my favor (or even remotely fair) from the start and instead of wasting my time I just didn't play.
I too miss the old days, most events may not have been perfect but they were certainly more balanced and fair.
Okay, if it was considered as important to get supporters as much as get scores, then why were contests, giveaways, raffles, etc. allowed if they obviously can influence a person's decision? That's automatically starting the event off unfair.
More importantly... If the event's almost only way to earn points (besides clicking the support button) was one flash game and this was considered a "fledgling" game with expected flaws right off the bat, why are there so many prizes actually? The event itself lasted for one week. Why put so many exclusive prizes into the system if you know it's just a "fledgling" event? Why only choose to reward HnR with everything (why not the top scorers as well)? You can't simultaneously downplay the event if you've already released such prizes. It doesn't make any sense to me.
