I&;m calling it a popularity contest because bands and supporters were allowed to bribe people into joining their side. In contests/events like this bribing shouldn&;t be permitted as it creates an unfair advantage.
Not to mention all of the unsolicited advertisements being sent out, which is against site rules but was suddenly okay for this event. http://subeta.net/help/rules.php?act=rule&id=43 Maybe I'm missing something, maybe I'm not, but it's a whole different can of worms.

Guys, no drama please. I don't think this is a good place to talk about what the bands did or didn't do, as this was created just to talk about prize distribution. :)

In contests/events like this bribing shouldn&;t be permitted as it creates an unfair advantage. In events like the masquerade, trick or treating and so on you can have a bribe board because somone who doesn&;t have one can still successfully get points by trading dances/tots with a dedicated friend.
The event was a popularity contest by design, the actual bands that won are irrelevant in that regard.
Wait...I didn't even know about this. What the fuck?

Please don't put words in my mouth. I never said your supporters shouldn't get something exclusively for them. I just disagree that it should have been four (not six, correction taken) unique wearables, and that you didn't see fit to reconsider the availability of even some of those for the tenth anniversary as well. And as for peoples' opinions, there's posts about disappointment on the general prizes even within the last page or so.

But again, your items and your choice. Your choice the second time, even. And if you stand by it, I'm not sure why you're bothering to argue.

This band-aid was a shuffle in a very nice direction, and I appreciate it, Subeta. Y'all have work to do, but as previously mentioned, the damage is done and I won't drag it out. So good job on this. Thank you.

I'm personally over the MOON with the fact that trophies, titles and achievements were given out! It definitely made the prizes so much better for me! (but then again, of course I'd say that!!)

I'm just so glad they listened to our feedback! :D

Wait, did the band have a say in whether the collection items would be re-released or not? Like... I thought the extent of the winning band was that they basically got to release a CW for free and without the CW status, which would make sense as basically the other Peka-Boo contest did the same, but the users had to draw it themselves, so this was a nice way to do it to give non-artists a chance. But from what I'm reading (and I could totally be reading it wrong, I've had a long day, so feel free to correct me!) it sounds like HnR members needed to give approval to someone higher up on if they were fine with two of their multitude of personalized and exclusive items being released on a wider spectrum? And this isn't any ill-will or negativity towards the band members at all! Loved the theme, LOVED that they won because if I could ever get my hands on the wearables I'd probably more than likely use them at some point xD, and I would have most likely done something similar had our band magically won.

But there is a reason users and staff have those titles, whether I like it or not, someone higher up needed to look at their ideas, needed to look at the amount of members, just needed to look at more things and take so much more into account. There is a reason CWs aren't listed under official site wearables and therefore don't count under the "collection" aspect. Because users can't control such a majorly high aspect of the site. Especially such a small amount. I mean, we have CWs, any way we could start adding in custom stickers and books etc. that allow us to alter our collections normally, but in the end aren't counted towards any achievements involved in that collection? I just don't understand the thought process through this entire thing.

BUT THAT SAID! Thank you for this band-aid. It obviously won't heal the amputees, but it proves you're listening and trying to help, even if it's just a little bit. I have to say though, I'm not impressed with the trophy? I mean it's not like I hate it, but Keith has mentioned fairly recently and a few times that trophies being eliminated all together in the future and just being turned into additional achivements was a very definite possibilty. I'd love to accept this trophy and show it off, but I'm also scared Keith will come back and ignore everything and do what he wants and if what he wants is still for trophies to be removed then I'm not satisfied. This kind of reminds me of the Reading Drive when trophies were given out because in all honesty they don't do anything and they aren't worth anything.

And I realize that ended back on a negative tangent, but I really do appreciate all this. So thank you, but u ain't forgiven yet. <3

Thank you for actually listening instead of just telling us off.

That said, as I don't want the achievement for joining a band, can I have it removed? lol

I'm gonna answers a few of your interrogations:

We were initially asked to come up with 5-6 items we wanted as the prizes. We suggested items, provided ideas and sketches, and decided on the final 6 items + decided what our ''exclusive'' recolor would be. We didn't see the item before they were released, and we had NO SAY AT ALL in how or to whom the items were going to be released. We learned who got the item at the same time as you all!

After the release, we were approached by staff in order to discuss the items (if we were happy with them) and in order to give our own feedback. We discussed of this very board and of our own opinions on the whole thing. This is where we were told they wanted to re-release the collection items. Staff had already planned to re-release the items, and we were more then okay with this! However, it was a common decision between staff and users to keep the wearable as-it Staff had already made all the decisions (and they DID look at numbers, it's not like they just decided out of the blue how to release things like that!), we basically just said ''yes this is a good idea and we think it'll be great''

So no, we didn't do the staff job. They basically asked us out of courtesy since they were our prizes, but all final decisions were made by staff members. I don't think our input would have changed much, if only give them an extras view of how users would react to this.

I would give up every item I received for a freaking trophy. It would have been better to win the genre instead of second overall, apparently.

Well, you were just unlucky the winners were in the same genre than you, but on the bright side you got 2 custom items made based on your band :)

That is true, and it was very nice of them ^_^

But I like trophies much better than wearables, and feel that they are more valuable - you cannot buy or sell a trophy, and they have more physical presence than an achievement. Ah well.

I'm very glad to see more collectibles on the system. c:

About the wearables, well, the site can always release more ram horns, tails, jackets, different eyes... ultimately, wearables are somewhat replaceable, and more importantly, they never go poof c: So, to the exception of the band's members' eyes, even the exclusive things should hit the market sooner or later for a price, so people who absolutely must have them can still get it. I'm personally fine with that.

[edit] Hi, this is a casual edit just to say I hate the Crypts and its incredibly rare (often entirely MIA) prizes. I wish someone fixed the "random" results in that game, they don't seem to be random at all. Pls never add collectibles there.

Oh wow give out some achievements some trophies but no mention of the exclusive Sew Crafty Sticker. Once again I ask why should us collectors continue to buy any stickers from the Cash Shop. You killed off our collections.

I am not mollified by this band-aid , all i got in the update is the 'join a band achievement' which fyi was said that there would be a 'prize' for doing just that during the event . Which btw would not have been delivered if not for this little face saving excercise.

I'm with . I wish we would've gotten a trophy. YES YES I KNOW WE "LOST". Except we didn't. We placed second overall, and that should count for something. Grannies, we should've just joined the 'other' category XD

All in all, I'm at least happy with the redistribution of prizes and the addition of (long overdue) achievements.

The VMA were this weekend, the people that finished second in each category did not get a trophy.

I'm quite pleased with the changes the staff made. I got my made a band achievement, collection items got a bit more distributed so that should give less issues. I sincerely hope the staff learned from this.
