lol, I say lets let the staff do their once over, let Rah do the changes- then we can point out stuff. It seems a little silly to go over things that are possibly already dealt with.

I think it is a great look tho, Rah.... I'm not sure it's really Ruffie'ish' tho. It will take getting used to, like all the revamps. we must move on with the times, after all.

Good job, Rah! x3

Actually, just yesterday I was wondering if this one would be getting a revamp. And it is very cute. :3 I wouldn't mind a bit more shading on the eyes, and as others have said, the blue of the eyebrows stands out a bit.
Honestly, I've never been a fan of the original ruffie just because I felt it looked far too cartoony, but the revamp is a vast improvement in my eyes.

-has made a bunch of edits and is now showing the rest of staff-

Once they're done critting me again, and I edit again, it'll get polled again

I'll just say...the BLUE eyebrows are gone n__n

And lifted paw is no longer twisted n__n

And a few other things too...

But I won't be making the base blue. While it does look nice - that's pretty much what dusk will look like.

Adorable, but the Groucho Marx brows need a bit of thinning out. That or maybe no eyebrows and just a spot around an eye?

Oh the eyebrows! :X
They're just too much. The rest is fine (love the colors) but the eyebrows ruin it.

Wow. When I first saw this, I thought for sure it was a pet that the picky users would have trouble tearing apart for once _'

I think it's lovely. It's wonderfully cute, well-shaded, and well-drawn, and maintains the Ruffie look although the design and color scheme have been updated. I love the bushy tail, fluffy ears, and round, pudgy belly; they really preserve the soft, innocent spirit of the old pet. I actually really like the color scheme. With a more natural color as the common base, the dusk color scheme will seem more distinct. The only complaints that I find legitimate are the ones regarding the position of the eyebrows. Personally, I love the eyebrows, but I'd love them more positioned the way ClockworkReverie edited them.

Other than that, great work. The revamp is far superior to the original, and I hope it goes through

Very nice, but the eyebrows and ears kinda are too much? I know that you had no other color to choose, but tan or white, and I guess It just looks.....odd? 0-0

No offense ^^

I think this is a really good revamp. I've always had a soft spot for the ruffie but never got one since I know how badly it needs a revamp. Now,about this revamp.I love it. I think morelight could be put in the eyes, to make them seem more bright and happier, and I'd likeit a lot better if it was closer to the colour scheme of the old one, keeping the markings, but with the main body being blue. The eyebrows bother me a bit, but the more I look at them the more I like them.

The eyebrows remind me of a doberman... (Kaiser)... This doesn't really seem like a ruffie.... But I really don't want to hurt the artist's feelings.

This revamp makes me sad. The color scheme and especially the "eyebrows" bug me. And even though I've never been a huge fan of the Ruffie, I think I would miss the old one if it was replaced by this one. I don't mind a revamp, in fact I think the Ruffie deserves one, but I really think this revamp can be changed.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

It's cute, but to be honest, it doesn't look right and seems like a new pet rather then the ruffie. The colorsceam should be a blue and white.

I really like how ClockworkReverie redid it here because that really does feel like a ruffie.

I gotta say... the old one.

I like the art, don't get me wrong! It just doesn't feel like a Ruffie.

Rather than having the hyper puppy look I'm so used to, it looks like an older, calmer, more settled pet.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I really love it, but the eyebrows really bother me. The color scheme is really strange too.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I think I might like it if the eyebrows were removed (I know some dogs do have eyebrows like that, but personally I just don't think it fits with this particular drawing), and the paw turned around in a more natural position as people have said.

I don't really like the brown and blue color scheme. I know we don't want the common to look too much like the other colors, but while this might look less like dusk, it now resembles cream to me, so it doesn't really help, there. I think either light blue with darker blue accents, or the light brown color it is now with darker brown accents would be nice. After all there are a lot of different shades of blue, so it should be possible to make a difference between common and dusk while still having a blue ruffie.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I like the art, but I don't think it looks enough like the old one.

The colorscheme is... interesting. I don't personally like it, but then I've never owned a Ruffie, and am not planning on it.

To be honest, I didn't recognize it instantly.

I think the revamp may have moved too far away from the old style.

OTHER NOTES:

-Eyebrows creep me out.. too defined. Maybe if the color scheme were changed, they would work. But right now, it looks angry.
-Front paw/back left hip look awkward. It looks like it's body is curved too sharply.
-Ears are really, really poofy. Looks kind of like some sort of Pomeranian. If that's intentional, then they're perfect. If it's supposed to be more like some other sort of dog, maybe make them look a little flatter...?

Overall, though, the art and shading are quite lovely. So with a few tweaks, this could be one of the best revamps I've seen so far.

Maybe it's just me, but the new Ruffie's left front leg (the one on our right) seems awkward... Like it's twisted too far in when compared to the back leg? x:

Also, the color scheme, big fluffy ears, and eyebrows are a no go for me, sorry. xD

I love his little paw pads and teeth, though.

Im ot keen on those eybrows, that people have been doing and tapering them up and not sideways works much better and Im not so sure on the color scheme, not that i want the blue and white back, im just not sure i like this one... i like what ClockworkReverie did on the last one, but i think the artwork is amazing

ONELASTCOMMENT:

I actually don't hate this entirely. I feel my absurdly long comments were mean. So no, I don't hate this entirely, but I don't like it much either.

The more I look at it the more smilie the face is - i think the eyebrows is what takes away from the smilie face. I like the spoof someone did with more...not bushy brows. it looks happier.

Oh noes! Yeah, the color scheme is pretty...odd, the lifted paw and left back leg look kinda wonky, it seems a little too chubby (although it should be a little bit) and the eyebrows look a little....meep. It's a good attempt, though. Of course the overall art is better than the old, but for now, I vote for the old one.

Seeing you asked about the eyebrows, I love them. They're like Japanese noh mask ones....my brother had a New Zealand breed dog with eyebrows exactly like those...I like the eyebrows in the horizontal position as you've drawn them...someone's edited them vertically and that looks truly weird.

This is a hard one. I love the face on the old ruffie, but unlike a lot of people I prefer the new colouring. We could still have a blue ruffie, with the dusk version. Not too crazy about the eyebrows, a browline (as real life dogs do have) without actual eyebrows might work better. The pose is great. Overall, nice revamp.

personally, i think its adorable and needs revamped. i thought that the old one was just...too cute.....the art needs a little improvement, like on the lifted paw, but otherwise its completely adorable ^^

I rally don't like it.
:/
I'm sorry, but the shading looks crushed, and the eyes are plain.
I really don't like the color.
I think it would be cuter if you made it all blkue with some darker or lighter spots.
Mixing brown with any other color but tan and yellow is just......meh.

EYEBROWS.

Just throwing my opinion in there.
I won't be getting a ruffie if it turns into this.

I voted for the old one.
I think this new one has lost the really cute look the old one had, and is almost a different pet, seeins as the colors changed too.
It also looks like its paws are too short.
The light blue and white color scheme was better in my opninion.
And the eyebrows scare me, even if real dogs do have them.

I don't really like this but I don't hate it, and I kind of do like the pose. I don't have a ruffie so it won't really effect me, but it would be better if it were to be kept blue, because the brown just doesn't fit the ruffie, to me.

Just reading through comments...I wanted to post one more thing.

To me - new revamps are not just about better art. If it was, some revamps would have gone through. But its not. Better art does not equal better pet. It has to have the right feel and look to it.

I like Subeta revamping things - even if I don't agree with all the revamps. Some pets had to have two revamps drawn. If all that mattered was that the art was better, that second revamp wouldn't have needed to be drawn.

Revamps need to make sure they capture the way the pet looked before. Not just change the pet so that its somewhat the same with better lineart.

Soooo done here. Sorry I'm writing so much.

[btw: my above comment is obviously void because, lol, i still dislike the lenny revamp. Long no leg why!]

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Could we please get our adorable blue ruffie back? The tan really threw me off. I would love to see that baby blue color scheme again.

No offense but...I voted for the old one. What kind of dog has eyebrows? And the paw and colors not for me sorry.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I am hesitant to vote for this one. Although much better than the original, there are three things that bother me a little. First, the paw looks as it the Ruffie is coming up to you like a person does to shake hands. Although I believe the idea was to shop paw pads, it really seems to look awkward with the current pose. Second, the shading under the ear needs to be more skull colored and less ear colored. It looks like the ear extends beyond itself. Third, the tail looks out of place. Maybe getting rid of some of the line separating the tail from the body would work. As for everything else, I like how it looks.

The ears are too big and the eyebrows make it look too...cavemannish. So does the colour scheme. I would of liked it if the old colour scheme were kept and the ruffie reposed.

Starting to grow on me but...
It doesn't look like a ruffie to me D8
I wish it still had it's blue color scheme.
And those eyebrows..really annoy me. To me it makes it look like it's forcing a smile and they make the ruffie lost it's cheerful-ness it has in the old one.
I still prefer the old one ;A;

Ick! That seriously doesn't look right. Besides the colour scheme and the eyebrows--and the lifted paw--it just doesn't look as cute. I think the Ruffie's supposed to be cute. And I liked it blue too.

Honestly, I don't like it. You guys try hard at these, I know, but the new color is butt-ugly, and is it just me or are the eyes getting weirder with each species revamp? O_o The pose is an improvement, yes, but keep the old colors and maybe try the face again?
