I like the lineart immensely...but please keep the color scheme as it was. This one simply does not look right to me.

Why on earth would anyone change the Escalade? Gah! I hope you're thinking of another pet.

Actually... this pose kinda reminds me of the Kanis pose. :< Except the Kanis's head was more upwards and you could see it's side more.

Dericfrosty8, the Escalade was revamped not all that long ago and looks very nice as is. I don't think it will be revamped for a long long...long...while yet

Very cute.. I guess I like the old ruffie best because it has the like.. cartoony cuteness (this is cute also) And.. I dont like change.. It takes time getting used to the new pets. lol But its still well drawn and I find the eyebrows to be a nice touch GJ

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

i like it! props to the artist

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Adorable lineart. =D It looks fantastic in terms of design, but...

As many of the comments have touched on, I dislike the colour. Maybe try swapping where the brown and blue are located, to make it more base-blue? Or try something altogether new? Also, eyebrows.

Likewise, I think that it might look more natural and cute if its paw were down instead of lifted. But, that's just me.

Overall, I like it, but I think I'll vote on the old one. I can't get over the colour. Sorry.

I think the black looks a little too blueish, and it's definitely a huge change from the far more cartoony blue Ruffie, but I think he's way cute. Darken the black parts some, and he should be fine. I love the little eyebrow spots, very cute. I'd be far more likely to get a Ruffie if they looked like this.

Don't ruin the old one D;
The new one actually makes me want to barf.
No offense to the artists who made it but it disgusts meee!
Don't change the old ruffies
If you do I will probably cry and never come on the site again so I don't have to see that CRUSTY old dead thing on the floor.
Poo!

That critique was really unneccessary. I'm sure that you don't know the meaning of "constructive criticism", but there is no reason to be impolite to the artists. Just saying "No offense" really doesn't help, either. I'm sure the artist of the new ruffie would be HAPPY if you left the site and never came back.

Sure, the new ruffie has some flaws. I'm not very fond of it myself. (EYEBROWS!?!?!?!) But that doesn't mean I would spit on the drawing and grind it into the dirt. Pointing out the things that you don't like in a polite way works much better than insulting the work in fifteen different ways. Think about how you might affect the people around you before you post a resonse. Kthanx.

Hmmm.... I have a lot of mixed feelings about this Ruffie. It actually looks to me like a prehistoric puppy rather than its original puppy form.

Things that I like: The new fluffiness of the tail and overall body.

~The longer ears and cute spots, gives it a shaggy, yet sweet appareance

~The more cute/less annoying expression

Things I don't like: The eyebrows - it overemphases the prehistoric look and takes away its cute puppy appearance

~The claws - I am aware that dogs have claws, but again, it gives Ruffie less of the appearance of a puppy and more of an adult dog

~The main color - If you'd rather not keep the plain blue color on it, like the original, then, I would change the shade of brown, or try a different color for common.

I guess that's all for now. I know the Ruffie would look a lot better than this with just a few such tweaks. Otherwise, I think I'd prefer the original over this one for now.

Like the majority of people here... I see comments on the anatomy and color. Anatomy is definitely off, color... no. Just no. Those colors don't work well at all for an entire Ruffie revamp.

Also, the pose was recycled heavily. Nightmare Kumos anyone?

Like the new look itself, but I really don't like the colors. Try using the old colors, it may look a bit better. (I'm just not keen on the color scheme. Tan fur with dark blue spots and ears? Eh.... sorry, I just don't think it looks that good. Some might, I'm sure, but I really don't. The old colors looked cute enough to me.)

The design itself is adorable - very playful-puppy-ish and all. I want to hug it

I'm not too keen on the colors though. Brown and blue can be good together, if they're the right shades; the blue seems a little too grey for me. But then again, there's always potions to change the color from Common. XD

Ooohwow. I do like the new artwork. I honestly like this one. The blue will probably be reserved for the Dusk color, if you think about it. The artists are using a neutral color as the common color. It makes sense to me, really. Pink = Dawn, Twilight = Black/Purple, etc.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

i much rather prefer the old one!

i think the ears are so big and adorable!

buuuuuut.
of course, some crits.
the mouth, think, should be a little more detailed compaired to the body (more shading etc etc...)

i really(really) like the new colors, but maybe try the same lineart with the old colors to see how it looks so it doesn't completely change.

thanks!

Since it won't be double posting, but I've noticed the "revamps" are entirely "redesigns". I feel cheated seeing one of my favorite pets entirely remade into an entirely different breed.

Also the style of ear is usually seen as a quarter of its size on terriers (I've got five running around me now) instad of the regular dog flop. It looks ooky and makes the head look obnoxiously small under the ears.

"If you do I will probably cry and never come on the site again so I don't have to see that"

...its comments like that that make me regret reading these things. Honestly, and this is to everyone -Everyone- who says something similar the above, : If you would leave the site because of something like this, you're obviously not very attached to this site.

Seriously! I see so many horrible criticism, I mean, just downright horrible stuff, and its becoming even more prevalent lately. There's a huge, massive difference between critique and hateful criticism, and people seriously need to get their heads around that.

Now, about the revamp:
I like the overall change, its almost exactly the same pose as the original Ruffie.
The front right paw seems twisted unnaturally, it makes the front side of the Ruffie seem like its about to bound off and play, while the hind part of it seems very stationary.
The eyebrows would indeed look a little better tilted more naturally, but I don't think that the color should be changed.
The coloring itself I like, natural enough to look natural, but still unnatural enough to be an imaginary pet. :3

Keep the Colors of the orinal with the new body. I'm a bit sad it looks so different form the Angelic. I hope that isn't revamped, or it'll be a big waste of cash.

Frankly, I hate it. It'd lok better if it was in the original style, just made better and more modern.

This is ew. XD

Hmm... okay, so blue's out of the question as it will look too much like Dusk... but doesn't brown look too much like Cream, by that same reasoning? At least one person (Charry) has presumed this revamp to be Cream in the comments. If darker brown spots are the only thing distinguishing Common from Cream here, is that really any different from baby blue and dark blue distinguishing Common from Dusk?

At any rate, good luck with the new revamp, can't wait to see it!

I like this over all. But the colors are no. The teal-blue I love. But a really light white-blue might do better for a base.

I also don't like the eyebrows all that much, but that's just me. Tail could be bushier and more 'animated' and puppy-like as well.

First, those colours together are just...really unattractive I hope, if nothing else, those at least can be adjusted. I don't much like the eyebrows; they might look better if the colours were different, but they really kind f draw down the face and make the expression less...pleasant. The left ear seems odd to me; by some of the line art, you'd think it is flopping down but by the rest, it has an arch. It looks like a deformity o-0;; Everything about this revamp seems awkward or off to me. He even looks ready to fall over xD I don't own a Ruffie, so it's no major concern...but I think it may be best to go back to the drawing board on this one.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I hope the spots are gone, and I'm sad that the new ruffie won't be blue. :/ That really isn't .. I was expecting so much better out of this when I heard the Ruffie was being revamped. So what if dusk is blue too? The dragarth, the kumos, the clawsion, the keeto, the mortiking, the cybill, the telenine, the kanis, the lain and the chelon are all blue when common. :/ They still look pretty in dusk. It's just different blues.

Oh well. I'm secretly hoping that the ruffie doesn't get a revamp, now.

I really like it I like everything about it, except the color scheme. The eyebrows are fine - or would be fine, if for example, the blue spots were white instead. They would be less overpowering that way, and the overall look more harmonious ^^ Other than that, I love it! Definitely a great improvement

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Having not read through the comments yet, my first impression is that this is the lovliest! revamp art, and I do own a Ruffie myself. Shocking for me to adore the design, only because I usually loathe revamps, because they seldom resemble the aspect that drew me to the Pet in the first place. The artist has kept the Ruffie magic intact.

That being said, the only small critique I have is that the eyebrows look out of place, perhaps too thick or something. I think the Ruffie would look better without them altogether, or perhaps with a thinner, less dominant version of them.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

No BLUE eyebrows doesn't mean no eyebrows at all.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Ehh, I really don't like this. The eyebrows make it look more communist ruler and less "play with me!" The paw sort of looks... dead. And I think the colors are kind of icky.
No offense, but I'll definitely vote for the old one.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Pain

The whole thing just doesn't look like your usual lineart.
Was actually surprised it was you that did this since I've loved every single one of your other pets.

Probably not very helpful but I see the biggest problem is the paws. Problem pretty much fixed in the examples, maybe a bit more tweaking. Eyebrows need to be taken out, they bring down the face making it looks far too harsh. Erm.. Tails a little flat, probably look nicer bushing it up a bit. but thing i'd like to see MOST is definitely a bigger muzzle like the old one, maybe add the little whisker freckles too. They're adorable.

I know you'll make an ace improvement like always anyway

So we're going to have a /light/ blue dusk pet?

I really do wish Subeta would stick with the light blue base for the Common Ruffie; then again, I don't own one anyway, so I guess it makes little difference to me.
