After thinking on it a bit.... The new Ruffie reminds me a fair bit of a bird dog. Especially with those spotty markings and such. XD

I really like this revamp, except oooone thing bothers me a bit.

I think that if the left ear was moved over a bit, it'd be perfect. The eyebrows don't bother me anymore if the ears were done like that. If that was done, I would absolutely love this revamp c:

I'm sorry, it's brown. I love the teeth and the eyebrows, the fur looks amazing and the ears are adorable, but why does it have to be brown? It's so un-Ruffie.

Most of the special colors for the Antelphore are still in need of a revamp (ie Bloodred, Spectrum, etc), maybe that is where you got confused

Oh? Already revamped?

I thought for sure Id read somewhere it was going to get another. :/ Oh well. Perhaps I was mistaken. Ive no problems with the current really but it's been forever since Ive actually looked at the common color since mines been nightmare forever now.

But yeah this is about the Ruffie so off topic-- Eh new Ruffie eyebrows! Yeah.... >.> Look at 'em....

I'm usually all for revamps, but this one is horrible.
Now it's just a generic dog that doesn't look half as friendly and playful as the original Ruffie.

i don't really like this revamp... there's nothing left from the old style. and although i like the new face expression and the idea of the revamp pose there are a few things i would like to complain about xD (sorry)

the ears are almost at the head's backside and seem off... when my dog looks at me this way and moves her ears then she covers a bit of her cheeks!
the left paw at the front looks like we see it from
the wrong side

and
the blue of the eyes and the blue of the fur are too different. maybe when you change that it will look a bit boring but the colors don't really match in my opinion

Err Wyniidee, the Antlephore was revamped not too long ago. I very highly doubt it will be revamped again anytime soon.

I wish I could get a screenie to work of how the different colors show on a Mac vs PC screen, but they just won't work. The screenies themselves show the differences fine, but whenever I try to upload them or put them into one image they end up being exactly the same @@

Wyniidee- The Antelphore was revamped a few months before you joined. It's not likely it'll get a revamp when it looks great already compared to the first one.

If it says like or similar to this, then I hope every Ruffie comes with a free dusk potion. You say you won't do the blue, but I seriously think this looks like a dusky marsh Ruffie, and as long as I have the power to vote, I will continue to vote for the old version. The color is SERIOUSLY my only issue with this one; Like I said earlier, keep the spots if you want color variation, but common Ruffies are BLUE.

I like it. It reminds me of what a real puppy looks like and not overly chibi and cute (they HAVE potions to make it that way ) also Im surprised at all the people who dislike his eyebrows. They give him character and many dogs have those markings. It makes them very expressive.

Im not sure I like the bright shocking blue of the eyes in comparison to the other dull blues in the fur though. Perhaps make them a more steely blue?

Would I get one. No. Because extra pet slots are expensive and I have plans for them if I ever get anymore. I do, however, find the new Ruffie easier on the eyes than the old one and a far more creative take on the pet's overall look in general while still keeping that mischievous Ruffie feel.

I feel thankful/happy Subeta has such talented artists that aren't afraid of trying something different. Excellent work! :3

On a side note Im really looking forward to the Antlephore revamp. He's one of my favorite pets and Im interested to see what will change with him.

i agree with Centurymon's critiques, as well as everyone else with the eyebrows, but i have to say it's an improvement over the old Ruffie. It looks more like the rest of the pets though i really really dislike the colour sceme.

can't wait to see the galactic version if the revamp is chosen, i just turned my ruffie galactic
i like it though it actully looks like a puppy, but i to say i don't like the spots or navy ears and eyebrows. it was the first thing i was drawn to and it kinda discouraged me, but i adore the art in its paws and face. I think If it was Still Baby Blue and sans spots it would look better

In regards to the colors, they actually look MUCH better if you are viewing them on a Mac screen. Macs show colors much lighter and less saturated then PC screens do, making these rather nice together. Rah, did you draw this using a mac or pc screen?

The screen differences is also one of the main reasons that Nightmare pets look so incredibly dark on pc screens but show up beautifully on a Mac.

Rowf...using an un-updated pet to show a color really isn't effective. The newer/updated pets that are cream have creamy colored bases and then lighter blue accents. Some also have a darker brown color used in small doses. The yellow colored picture of the Ruffie you posted does not follow the newer standards for cream colored pets. For examples check out the Cream Archan, Donadak, Legeica, Mahar, Mallarchy or the Cream Dragon just to name a few.

As for this revamp. I would agree that changing the contrast color to black would look more natural and IMO better than the dark blue. Rah already said she has fixed the paw issue so I won't complain about it. The eyebrows don't really blow my skirt up, but they could be worse and again, in a black color I think they wouldn't be as "loud" for lack of a better word. The Ruffie was in desperate need of a revamp. It still looks like a playful scamp and I like the overall effect of the revamp. I just really hope something can be done about the color scheme to make it less jarring.

I was like "I bet everyone is tearing the artist apart in the comments"
And I looked and was right.
I think the eyebrows would look better rotated up, but that's my only complaint.

An artist worked SUPERHARD on this and obviously liked it quite a bit, along with some other people, so everyone should at least TRY not to be like the meanest people EVAR. But w/e. Brilliant art, I LOVE the color scheme. Hope it goes through.

Mkay... after staring at it on and off all day, I think the only dire change needed is the left paw. It's so awkward. I would turn it upright like Clockwork's pic or maybe just put it down as if he was kinda leaning backwards-ish. I hope that made sense lol.

So much negativity here.... Rant about to begin.... You have been warned...

I think the art is pretty. The anatomy is a bit off mainly on the front paw that is turned. I have seen similar things with my dogs but not quite that far. Perhaps when they are batting at things like bones. Maybe instead of the blue, black markings? Something about the ears seems off to me, can't quite place it. I think a change for the ruffie is nice. This holds true to a lot of the characteristics the ruffie has while giving it a fresh look. If the change goes through something like this one I would consider getting one if I could. It is a shame that the artist for the galactic version might have to do this again but I'm sure everything will work out. As for eyebrows, my black/tan/white shiba inu male has eyebrow like markings on him and he's adorable. Look one up and you'll see. I hope I have not insulted you Rah, your art is always been wonderful to me. Keep up the good work!

I kinda must mention you've pretty much slapped the artist of the Galactc Ruffi (who worked hard, unless it was you then... No comment) in the face for making a cute color, then making them change it again to fit the pet standards.

All I wanna say is that I'll be horribly dissapointed if this version changes the angelic. Makes me reconsider using the site after the various REDESIGNS (Caps used to draw attention to the word) Not Revamps.

Revamps were making the pokeon in the games look better.

This isn't a Ruffie. I'll never accept it as a Ruffie, ever.

Wow, frankly, I'm shocked by the number of people calling this re-vamp "ugly". And the fact some say somethig "no offense but the thing is horrid looking (etc.)" annoys me to no end. Seriously people, if you don't want to be offensive to the artist, don't just say it looks "bad" for no apparent reason. Rah probably worked really hard on this and a lot of users are just complaining about how the pet revamp might look without specifying how it can be helped.

And by thhe way, most cream pets are yellow for example the current ruffie. So this color combonation is in fact very neutral and could be used for the common ruffie where cream would be a light-yellow ruffie.

Nice art... however, the change of color is wayyy to drastic.

If it were like ClockworkReverie's tweak that make it full-blue and fixed the hind leg, I would definitely vote the revamp but... not this one. :/

The eyebrows remind me of Sadaharu from Gintama. I do thing the head is a little too broad and dominates the entire work. Of all the Ruffies, I like the Galactic the best. I think that's where my opinion is from.

I'm seriously in love with how you draw pets, they always remind me of a disney movie. When i saw this i was like, "Omg, Lady and the Tramp ♥!"

I know I already mentioned the eyebrows and finding them too...prominent. But after reading the comments I rather like Natsu's idea of having the eyebrows in the darker tan colour...they don't stand out as much. Overall a really lovely drawing though!

Same issues already brought up, paws and color choices. Brown and steel blue dont really look right. Its extremely different, I I did preffer the white and blue base, while dusk is usually just a darker, duskier, blue.

I like the changes you made in your touchups of the revamp, ClockworkReverie. The eyebrows look a lot better like that, and I think the legs look better, too.

I decided to vote old.. the new one, mainly the colors I know are coming and dread, just isn't the Ruffie I know and love and as an owner of two and soon to be four Ruffies.. I am a bit down.

The art is cute, don't get me wrong.. but I do not like these color schemes at all, nor do I look forward to what colors will make up the rest of the common Ruffie colors.

But, my vote has been cast so my work here is done. Good luck, revamp.

Ooooh, the artwork is really pretty! owo What I don't like is that the colours were changed. The blue/white scheme was better. I like the edit ClockworkReverie did with the little edits and colour change to the blue.

I do like the re-vamp in general, but the originals base color is much better. I think I'm gonna have to put in a vote for the old. This little guy would look even more awesome if he/she was light blue, with white ears and paws.

It's okay, except for the eyebrows o_0. The blue seems to 'mis-match' the brown. Maybe if you make the colours more compatable it might look a bit better...

Awesomeness. Chest ruff not too deeply creased, classic puppy pose, the paw in the air is showing correctly for the angle you are viewing the Riffy from, it is adorable.

RAH. It looks stupid without the eyebrows. Whenever someone posted below and had shown it without the eyebrows...it looked like someone waxed its forehead. Dumb dumb dumb.

The only thing that I agree with on most of the critiquing is the paw position and tail placement. I even love the color scheme.

Overall I just want to grab it off the screen and squeeze it to death. O.O

actually to add what I said before, I think the Ruffie's look she not differ from much of it's special colors like how the Angelic and Galactic Ruffies look. It would stay pretty consistent in the style just a little more updated. If you change the look of the pet completely it would not coincide with the special colored versions, those would have to change as well. Not saying that's a bad thing but it's something to consider.

I just thought of a better, less over-used pose that could be considered for it. Maybe it could be sitting on its haunches with its tongue hanging out cutely. It could look as if it's begging for treats. As of right now, that pose is a bit overused and it gives the appearance of having a broken paw.

It's very cute, but the paw that's lifted looks a little awkward to me, like it's turned a funny direction. I think maybe if you could see the top of the paw instead of the bottom, that would look more natural ^^

I actually like the paws. And I love these colours. And I disagree with the "either realistic or fantasy" opinion, I think the mixture of reality-based pet with fantasy colouring is cool. shrugs To each their own I guess.

But for people who don't like these colours and would rather have the all-blue of the previous ruffiee, you can always get a dusk potion, and they're not that expensive. Why not let this be the default for those of us who like it, and those who don't, get a dusk potion.

Change is good...looks totally cute, cuddly and more realistic. Much more energetic than the old one. Even the colors begin to grow on you after a while. Just the eyebrows make me think of a little old man, or Groucho Marx! (lol) Way to go artists

Not too crazy about the color scheme, but I love love love the design/lineart/etc!! He's so cute! Major success with this one- especially with keeping the feel of the previous one (very similar cute pose and expression) but updating the artwork. VERY nice! ^^
