I love the idea of updating the tigrean! There are a few things I would change though.
The old version has a rounder look to it's artwork which I really like. The new one looks just a little bit flatter. Larger paws - cats tend to have very large paws in comparison to their legs. (at least big cats) A slightly smaller nose/mouth area.
Pros of the new version:
The eyes and ears are gorgeous! I absolutely love the stripes. The new version has a regal air that the new version of hinted at but didn't fully embrace.

Tigerean's isn't really an all time favorite of mine. But they are a beautiful pet (:~! The old one looks more femine and playful to me. It looks mischievous and innocent, young and witty It has that "I'm better at most things than you." Kind of look. I love it's pose and the position of the face. The newer one looks more realistic and manly. It's handsome I'd say, but some of the magic seems to be lost. This is just my own personal opinion. Over all I think both are great, so I wouldn't know how to choose. However, hope all goes well ^.^ as both are nice to me.
I voted for the old one because the new one needs bigger eyes.
I'd love to see something like the first picture there.
I like this one for the most part, corrections I see might need to be looked into is the size of the ears should be bigger as well as the eyes. The nose area smaller and a tuff on the chest would be nice.
Love it! =D It definitely looks like a real tiger though, which kind of takes away from the difference between Subeta animals and Earth animals. BUT~! I still personally really love it. You did a fantastic job, and the position of the legs looks fine to me. =) Thank you for gracing my eyes with beautiful art Mr. Or Ms. Subeta Artist who Created this! =D
ZOMGBBQ!! happy flail Oh gods! I! LOVE! This! The eyes are so piercing in the new one, and I'm doing the squeee spazz over ts appearance. I so very very much want to see the other colors (like reborn etc) look like this. Would we be able to bribe someone into an Angelic Tigrean in the new form? bats eyes
NOOOOOOOOOO my Tigreans are my favorite pets, and I love them because they're sleek and cheeky! Bulking them up like that would almost be like making an entirely new pet, it would be heart-breaking!
I like the older one, it has more rich personality and suits it more due to it's none realistic species despite being based on a tiger
The older one looks so cuddly... Like a plushie. I just can't wrap my mind around the new one... Raaaarrrr
I dunno... I think the revamp loses some of the spirit the current Tigrean captures perfectly.
The new one creeps me out. The old one looked young and mischievous, the new one looks... old. :(
The new one just looks too different and too much like a tiger... I prefer the classic tigrean

With some tweaking it could be perfect. I think like the lighter body type of the old one, but the art of the new one is AMAZING. I love the face/head. The claws could be fixed like some one else stated, and the position of the back paws are kind of... off. Actually, the paws/legs kinda bug me. It doesn't seem natural enough- it almost looks like it's posing.

And I've got to say, I REALLY don't get why everyone is so upset with a redraw. If you don't like it, make use of an overlay. It's not that hard :/
This is another one of those, "Great art, but the personality is lost" revamps.
Yes, it's masculine and big and chunky and handsome...but that's not the appeal of the Tigrean. At least, to me, it's not.
I love the new one. It doesnt look completely real, but it has that made of creature feel. I really dislike the old one, its so cartoony...almost old gross anime ish. But it seems most people like the giant unrealistic eyes. Id personally prefer all the redos to be more realistic like this. I think its much easier to make profiles based on the prettied up versions. If it were to be this new style I might even consider buying a tigrean. But if it stays old, I will never feel the need to own one :P Idk why so many are complaining about how wrong it looks and all. The artist did an amazing job mixing in real features of cats with the unreal subeta pets style. So kudos artist!

I'm very fond of the new one. It looks more like a tiger and less like a cat-dog hybrid. I do agree it could be a tad slimmer-- not too much though, as it actually looks like a tiger now-- and have a smaller nose. Anatomically, the back is very short,as is the more hidden paw. Perhaps extend them a little bit, as much as the space would allow? It actually looks a little painful to me.
At any rate, I love both versions, but the new one would be very fresh and I would love seeing it around the site. I never considered adopting a tigrean before, but I think I would now!

I think there is alot of nitpicking going on in some of these comments... on one hand people seem to dislike the "realistic" look of the new one and say it looks too like a real tiger, but then they want to poke at the different parts of the art, and say, "Oh the anatomy is SO off, if it were real it would look like soandso....!"
How do you know the anatomy is off on an imaginary beast?
The revamp looks a bit on the feminine side compared to the older drawing.
Oh, also I really like the comment made by someone below about thinking that Tigreans were the opposite of Archans. I thought this too! It would be really quite lovely if the Tigrean was more sleek and lithe instead of the bulkiness that's in the redraw?
Wow. Well first off I really love the new Tigrean but I love the slick agile feel of the old Tigrean better. I always thought of the Tigrean as more of a tiger with a panthers built. The first thing that struck me as odd was how much smaller the eyes and ears where. Now after looking at it for a little longer the thing that seems to be the most out of place is the nose. Its just seems big and awkward and I cannot stop starring at it. I think perhaps the nose should be smaller or reshaped because it pops out wayyy too much. I also would prefer if the Tigrean kept some of its agile feel.
The new one is incredibly gorgeous, but my vote had to go with the older version. I agree that the new one doesn't look very Subeta-like. And I think I just adore the face of the old one, the new one is rather bulky and scary looking for my liking. I think the fur on the underside of his belly is a lovely new touch though, but I really just can't get attached to that new face. :(
The newer one seems to have less character in it (character looks built in), and it's eyes look more male gender specific. You may also might as well rename it "Tiger", because I don't see much else than a coloured tiger with an extra pair of oddly coloured claws on the back of it's feet.
Most of the things about the revamp have been voiced already, so I won't repeat them. Sorry, but as nice as the art is on the revamp, it has too many flaws for me to want to accept it. I own a tigrean too, and I'm scared of what the change could do to the current design. Maybe with a little tweaking or improvement the revamp might do better, but as it currently stands I really don't like it and don't want to see my Tigrean changed into it.

I love the old art, but sorry, I LOVE the proposed new one more! Toes look more like a tiger. :)
I had to consider for a while, but I finally had to vote for the old Tigrean. Most of my concerns are the same as everyone else -- the bulkiness, the eyes/nose, the rib fur etc. -- so I won't rehash them. I just wanted to mention the two things that bug me that I wasn't seeing others mention.
-The Tigrean's front right leg. I.e. the one that's mostly hidden. I really don't like it's position or the way the shoulder is. I'm not any kind of cat anatomist or anything, and I can see that it's imitating the pose from the old version, but it just looks really awkward to me.
-The back. It looks way too short, like deformed short, which is especially jarring because the rest of it looks so much like a real tiger, which would have a really long back. Part of it is the thicker neck and changed head position, but I don't think that's all of it. Maybe it's also that the chest is deeper, and/or that the head seems more massive. I don't know, and I can't put a better finger on it.
That said, there are some things I like in the revamp. I really like the ear positioning -- though I'd love it if the visible backs weren't plain red, where tiger ears are actually black with white spots -- and I think I rather like the tail being behind rather than curling in front. I also like the new stripes, though maybe there could less of a gap between the 'wing' stripes and other stripes, or some other way to tie the together better/make the 'wings' seem less odd.
The Tigrean actually looks like a Tiger now. Which is the point of this revamp. So, +1 for the artist.
The only problem I have are the paws, front and back. They need to look more as paws, not toes attacked to stubs.
You know, the only problem I have with the new one is that the butt is too small.
I've honestly never considered adopting a tigrean before, and now I want to!!

The new one is just far too much straight up tiger, I much prefer the old one and its catty sort of look. Also the new one, I think looks too realistic. This is online things should look a small bit cartoony at least, not just like a tiger coloured red.
Perhaps maybe revamp pets that haven't been revamped yet or update some potioned pets that haven't been done to match their common poses/style....I think the Tigrean can hang onto the old version for a while while the other pets get some much needed attention. (Kumos was pointed out, Serpenth still has some colours that need to be updated I think)
I also agree that the new version doesn't really feel "Subeta" anymore. Just like someone dumped a can of red paint over a tiger. :/
the new one looks good, but I prefer the more cartoony version of the old one. There are a few things that the new one does that could work on the old one. Such as the stripe patterns are nice, the 4 toes instead of three. But things that the old one does well, is having a smaller head, bangs, big eyes, small nose, the tail being in front of the body, and a more swift look to it.
Good art on the new one though, really if the new one was picked I don't think I'd be as down about it (not like the fester revamp)
I prefer the body on the new one but the head on the old one. Therefore, I voted for the old. I think the eyes, ears, and paws need to remain larger and less hidden, and the hair tufts on the top of the head and front of the chest should stay. I like realism, but this is a bit too real for me. Some of the cartoon aspects should remain.
I'm not a fan of how big the new one's head looks, and the front paws are crossed a little strangely so it doesn't look stable.

Ooooohhh, I love this new edit. I'll choose this one over the old one, but there are a few things that pop out at me: -I think the nose is too wide, and it should have the little line that goes down the middle of it. I think without it, it looks flat. -I also think he's too big/buff/thick... If he was thinned down a bit in the chest area he'd be even more perfect. -Claws in his feet? and last -I think the long fur on his under chest? is too long.
But otherwise, I think this is a great revamp!! The art is amazing and I love the addition of more stripes. ❤️
I like the older ones pose/style better. The new one just seems too 'real', and not like a subeta pet. It looks like a tiger, not a tigrean. :( Maybe if you took a little more inspiration from a Cheetah? Sort of meld the tiger and cheetah together- that's what I've always imagined when I see a tigrean.
I voted old, even though the new art is obviously superior.
I agree with whoever said it reminded them of a red tiger not a subeta pet. I think we have been reminded more than once by staff that many if not all of the pets on here are drawn from many references, not straight from real life, so it seems weird to see the basic colour of a pet drawn so much to look like a real world animal.
Pros: the stripes are gorgeous, huge improvement from the old.
Cons: The eyes and ears are so much smaller than the old version it's almost like looking at a new pet. The back claws should be curvier.
I really hope this pet doesn't go straight from old to new with no revisions because I feel like there is room to incorporate more of the "classic" tigrean look with the amazing new art.
I prefer the old one. The new looks realistic but with cartoony paws, you can't have both.
I like everything except the nose xD I'd get one...if not for the nose. Still cool though I guess.

I like this current pose rather than the newer one. But I like the newer one's detail- however it looks a little fat and the nose is to big I think.

The art is beautiful, but still preferring the old version at the moment. Looking forward to some changes to the nose and paws, as many people have posted about those :)

I usually don't like it when users do redraws, but I actually really like aleepyhead's version. If it were like that, with maybe a slightly different pose (front leg over a bit so it doesnt look like its pointing at somethig), I would really love it.

i personally like the new one a lot more than the old one. however, i think everyone's mentioned this by now but i'd prefer it if the eyes were a touch bigger, the nose a touch smaller, and maybe claws on the paws?

The new one's definitely better. The old one looked like an usual tiger to me. Now it really looks like a made up creature. 8D
