My Subeta Memory

I have two favorite memories: My first is joining Subeta, right before the Longcat ordeal. The donation corner was flooded with items, pages of the same item on every refresh-the most entertaining being the Dancing Turkey. I spent hours claiming, refreshing, and chatting with friends while the site was up and down. I regaled my children with the tales. Which brings me to my second favorite memory. Playing Subeta with my daughter, right up until her passing in September 2024. She was trying to get into the blue building, just needed the password, in the days before. I don't think she ever got it. If she was here, she would have made a joke about dying before getting that dang password (in a dark but silly way!) We'd sit together when the free shop was open and remind each other to grab things and trade things back and forth. We used to throw a Snot Scoop at each other, back and forth from account to account. Playing without her has been hard, there are times I just can't bear to be here without her, but it's getting easier little by little. There are some wonderful people here that honor her and that helps immensely.

Something I'd Love to See

I'd love to see more plots and interactive activities again. We had so many different ones over the years, and they were so much fun to be a part of. Some of my favorites were the Peka Boo music festival, the cruise and the Ian/Jaxon plot. The wedding and all the events leading up to it, and the original survival were pretty great too.

I remember when you used to go live on YouTube (I believe?) I thought that was so cool. I loved hearing directly from you. It was just so personal. You could tell how much you loved the site and how much you cared about your users!

Something I'd Love to See

Lots of wishes! More (full/partial) backgrounds and foregrounds for layering. More borders maybe? When you stick a sticker to someone, maybe a notification that they already have that before you proceed? When leaving a gift under someones tree but someone has already put that item under there, maybe a notification before proceeding? I know it was a big one and I think there were issues, but I loved it when you could look at someones wish list and there was a something saying that you have that item. So many old items that could become wearable, especially in the home appliances.

Thanks for sticking around this long. You have come a long way. Because of you, new and long lasting friendships have been made that would have never come about. I met some wonderful people on here that I am truly grateful for and I have you to thank for that!

I'd really love to either old plots as a retro event to get to take part in em, or even new plots. That or lore stuff.

New items are fun and all but the desire for some site event/plot would be so fun, cause kinda feels stagnent afterwhile with just getting items or holiday tasks, Like I know surival tends to be my fave as thats the one where i do feel like i get more reason to interact with people in the forums

the only very specific memory that comes to mind is finding the richest user info in the dashboard for the first time and discovering i was rich! otherwise, lumi has been huge for me over my 16+ years. christmas wasn't always amazing for me and it was so nice to have a little surprise waiting for me at the end of the day. the holidays are awesome for me now, but lumi is extra joy and i loved giving away a ton of stuff this time around. i also fondly remember the reading drive. the prizes were my absolute favorite.

on kumos i'd love to be able to better locate items that i have in my shops when questing like on the legacy site. i'm pretty sure reading drive was declared over for good but i would love to see something like it. maybe a spirit week style event where items of a specific color or theme are turned in each day.

i'm just really happy to be here after all this time. i haven't always been active but i've always come back. my biggest regret with subeta is not being as active in a social sense. i know there are tons of good people here and i wish i knew some of you.

It's hard to believe it's been so long, but it's also been so fun! <3
I've been on Subeta for 19 years now.
I remember Keith's 18th birthday lol :3
I remember Amy and the rise of Merana and how I actually had tears. The battles between table top games and video games. The beginning of snowball wars. The first zombie apocalypse and the drama that ensued with romance and friendships. I remember Melody and the faeries and wonderful Luminaires over the years. The discovery of new lands. Jail time for one npc... (whatever happened to him..?) Adventures in the Shadowglen. And so many more!
I've joined some groups that have come and gone, and others that are still around after so many years. Made friends and lost others. There have been so many great interactions I've had on this site. It's honestly almost the only thing I've kept up regularly for this long. Like, It can be hard sometimes for me to stick with things, but Subeta has drawn me in with the characters, the stories, the games, the customizable avatars, the pets and all the ways to play wth them.
:3 I remember when I adopted my Hargi. I was so meticulous going through all the possisble pets and colors and what I would want him to look like eventually. And was super excited when I got a reborn potion for him! <3
I want to thank you Keith and the Subeta team for all the many, many good times you've given us over the years.
I may not be able to even remember them all because there were so many, but I feel that just shows how good a job you've all done with this site.
May it continue to be blessed with more awesome times to come! ^_^ <3

I remember having fun with the random polls we used to have many years ago.
I had fun with even small plots that happened. Even if it's just a new little game or something. Maybe in an area that hasn't had as much attention lately? (I need more time to think..)
A new color could be fun, I'm just not sure what at the moment. ': )

Well, I came here because I found your site along with another page that's now Lost Media. It was thanks to you guys that I became interested in drawing and creating my own ocs . My favorite events are the Masquerade and currently Survival (because of the "No Victims Left Behind." group).

my fav memory is actually very recent! from 2020-2024, the highest amount of gifts i had ever received under my luminaire tree was 78. not too shabby! but can you imagine my surprise when last year, i had received 373 (not including melody gifts)?! i was genuinely so touched and stunned. this could not have come at a better time, as i have been battling depression for many years and it's been getting harder lately. but seeing such incredible warmth from this site really got to me. thank you all so much, i'm sorry i haven't had the energy to thank each and every one of you individually! you have all truly made that day special. <3

I could easily point to the special masquerade event, or the special moristide event because both of those were awesome even if I didn't manage to fully complete them like I wanted... but honestly out of everything Subeta, for better or for worse, I've got to give the credit to it introducing me to corsets and fashion wear. I'd always had some interst in them, but thanks to the masquerade events giving us so many good options, it opened my eyes to the garment's possibilities. I ended up getting a steampunk corset in real life and it's still one of my favorite pieces. Subeta kickstarted not only my love of corsets and bodysuits but also further pushed my interst in clothing design. Now it's what I'm persuing.

Being with Subeta for so long has been a bumpy ride, but it's made its way into my life enough to be an unforgettable part of it.

Something I'd Love to See

I'd love to see the original version of the Giselle Snowshoe Skintight Bodysuit come back! It was one of my absolute favorite items; so sleek, clean, and bright with a unique design. It was a star piece in my wardrobe that I used to wear a lot.

I would also desperately love to see improvements made to the wardrove's default drawers, creating clear seperation between accessories, background/foreground items, and main items (such as shirts, pants, dresses, shoes, eyes, mouths, and eyebrows). Even better if body modification items (like special ears, horns, ooves, wings, and the like) could also have their own category, and maybe a special tags search option for holiday items like melody or moristide. Especially with the upcoming changes to the wardrobe potentially limiting our custom drawers (and the sheer effort it took me to sort everything myself), I find this would make the wardrobe a lot easier to navigate when there are confusing item images like these about, and item names do little to help.

Oh! And a Storm Legeica!!! I've been keeping a pet slot open for one for so long. ;u; The Legeicas are the best!

This is kind of a weird one, but I think my early days on Subeta were just so exciting - so many cool items, such cool HAs, so many cool pets and colors! I remember grinding sP on Burrero Basket Bonanza while "A Walk" by Tycho was playing in another tab. It was like, 5 or 6 in the morning and the sun was just starting to come up... Something about that moment feels like a core Subeta memory to me, it's always what I think of when I think of the site.

I'm definitely in the camp for sweetydead to be an official pet color, but I'd also like to say that I have a buddy that would L O V E more rift pets - especially Legeica. <3

My favourite memory comes from any of the plots we've had. I think my very first one was the Excavation Site plot. I loved figuring out the mini games and it was just something fun to look forward to! :)

Probably the first thing I remember was the Longcat raids, that happened very shortly after I joined. Oh my god, that was one of the dumber and funnier things to happen (athough I sympathize with the staff for having the messy job of moderating all that incoming garbage), but oh man was it wildly pathetic how mad a bunch of 4chan dweebs got over a wearable Longcat item and then in response to that Keith or someone else loaded the Donation Corner with Longcats so everyone could get one (it formerly was a super rare item and hard to get, seriously if it weren't for the whiny chan babies they wouldn't have flooded the site XD). Just pure, petty spite for loser trolls trying to take us down over a pixel cat. Eventually the Longcats got turned into something else (a dragon, I think?) to distance it from its origin (especially since 4chan is associated with... less than savory things, shall we say) but I loved the absolute cheek of it all as it was going on.

Old challengers coming back and weapons from retired battle challengers becoming available again, maybe as part of the yearly anniversary event or something; I also would like to see Bhakorus made available to everyone. It's been a very long time since the event they were introduced in and it's crazy to me that they still haven't been made available to the public. Let them dinos go!

This place is truly special and there's no other place like it online. Throughout all these years Subeta has remained independent and resistant to the entropy and rot that's been consuming the rest of the internet and I am thankful for this little corner of the web doing its best to chug along and keep on truckin' and I hope it continues that way into the foreseeable future. There's so much to love about this place from the art to its people and why I keep coming back.

My Subeta Memory: Almost 19 years ago, I started playing Subeta. I never belonged to any group and preferred to play by myself. I ran into a friend of mine from another game who was playing here also and we buddied up. . It was awesome having someone to talk to and trade with and get help from. Then his real life took him from the game, more amd more, and I looked to fill the void... He still remains an awesome friend. Years later I decided to join a group. .
I wasnt too active in the beginning. Mostly just reading the posts and getting to know the members. I'm really glad I made the choice to join them. They have filled a void in my life and have brought a lot of energy into my life.
There are way too many to name, and to name some, would not be fair to the others but the person responsible for me joining was .

**** Something I'd like to see: **** On the dailies, I would LOVE to see a total revamping of the items being given out. Totally retire all of the items we have been getting over these long years.
They are basically useless and boring. Sorry if I hurt anyones feelings by saying this. I know will understand what Im saying. He does such an amazing job on this site as it is and I would never want to sound ungrateful. I just hate those items. hahahhahahahaha Thank you.
