My Subeta Memory

I remember the first pandemic/survival ever, it was so super exciting and I still love it and always come back to subeta to be at least a little bit part of it again (always a throwback I enjoy) and when I was so super excited to get all plush/beanbags and then - new - stickers. I never came near except the beanbags but now I don't know if I should even proceed/start again to be a "collector". Aaand when achievements were a new thing.

At the same time there was a group of fellow players I met online and we chat a bit and exchanged gifts/WL-Items and shared updates, especially during bigger events. Now I really like the pings of the European board whenever something is on as a reminder

Something I'd Love to See

An event like the first survival ever, it was so much fun and emotion (at least in my memory) but I would also like something where you don't have to be online all the time and can catch up if you're regularly online - every day during the event or at least every two days. That's what I could manage, I hope I will, and lots of others too?

I really liked the Masquerade Plot and the Steele Excavations. It was fun discovering clues and seeing the new interactive graphics, even if I never truly understood the plot (though that's on me haha).

There was a time when I stopped visiting Subeta for a while and felt quite sad that I had missed out on other events in the meantime.

Something I'd Love to See

It'd be great to have another plot-driven event! Maybe around Artic Frost(?) cause I don't think we ever had those haha. Does that count as achievable?

Also maybe a small thing but would be great if we can have a "clear all" notifications in the Events section on Kumos. They do tend to build up.

I remember the "Longcat Fiasco" every time I see a Draconis XD The creation date of my fist pet and the age of my account are mismatched because back in the day my profile was among those that fell victim to a bug/glitch and was temporarily erased (the amazing people behind the scenes restored it <3 )

A better category system in the vault/wishlist/wardrobe, because creating your own categories is all well and good, but when I want to search for a specific kind of items, there is no way to do that... Want to look up just plushies on a wishlist? Nope. Want to go through just lipsticks in your wardrobe? Think again. Want to see if any minion strayed into your black hole of a vault? Keep the dream alive ~☆

I see Keith working hard on Kumos and wish him the best <3 I know the site has to move with the times to appeal to a younger audience, but I hope it will still be friendly to people like me, who grew up with Subeta, and even though we have busy lives, we still want to come back to the soft embrace of a simple pet site, and just relax without the pressure of the daily grind-fest many games adopt nowadays. Here's to many more successful years, Subeta! <3

I think my favorite Subeta memory is my first Masquerade when I'd just joined Subeta back in 2019. The overall vibe of this event, the lore (although I've missed the earlier Masquerades with an actual plot, but I think I get the general picture), the visuals, the HA show-off threads, the opportunity itself to make new costumes every day and see other people's creativity, I instantly fell in love with this event. I was so inspired by this that I almost wrote a short story roughly based on this setting (I didn't finish it, but the concept still lives in my head).

Right now the most confusing thing for me is that events and holidays don't come in time anymore. I was very upset first that the Masquerade and Vesnali were replaced with one another, like the general vibe of the March-April is completely different to the vibe of May, so the athmosphere of those holidays has changed too, but other holidays have also been... slowly sliding off further and further from their original date? I would love for holidays to happen in the right time of the year, for the schedule to be a little more predicatable. Maybe it's just me, because I always tend to get upset and anxious when the Thing I'm expecting to happen gets a delay. Anyway, I hope the scheduled holidays get back on track, that's all.

The silliest and oldest thing I remember is having awful morning sickness while trying to restock (that baby will be 19 soon).

I remember the DRAMA of course, but that was just part of Subeta's personality - lag monsters, the shortest of cats, art critiques gone wild...

I've probably forgotten a lot sadly, it's been many years of battles of generosity, collecing the shiniest of items, and even a bit of artistic expression here.

I think I still like curating weird collections the most here, but I don't really have any requests for that. I could use a reminder about the item tags project (are we still doing that?) lol... idk. I'm not active enough to really stay on top of everything. Maybe I need Subeta AI that can tell me what I'm forgetting to do! haha...

I am a neopets refugee, though I can't remember exactly how I found this site. Soon after I joined, the Steele/Saheric plot started and I loved the stories and puzzles so I was hooked. I do miss the big plots, but I understand they require way too many resources. After a couple of years, I took a break for almost a decade, visiting occassionally to see what was up to. One December I checked in, played around with a Luminaire tree, then left again. When I returned months later, some folks had placed a lot of gifts under my tree! I was not expecting that thoughtfulness and generosity and it reminded me why I love this site and the people here. I've been back regularly for two Luminaires now and the giving is at least as fun as the receiving, I would argue more so, even. So I love having a place where my broke a$& has a place to be generous with others and can be surrounded by such sweet friends. 🥰

I can rememeber the very first Survival! The anticipation of the virus mutating and growing. Trying to understand the strands and how we didn't even know when the virus was complete at first. I can clearly remember one of the first forum posts with someone asking what was on their avatar, and Keith posting a mask image and how the speculation went from there.

I also remember doing the meetup in Chicago, I was so nervous and scared and I almost chickened out several times, but I still went and had a great time!

I remember getting very happy paying for someone in the forums to create a profile for me using html/css/js. I loved the way everything was so customizable on the site from profile, avatar and pets. Only sad thing is my profile right now no longer "works" but I probably have to learn how to fix it in the code.

I think a guide to coming back on subeta (not sure if there is one already). I just logged in today trying to navigate the site and vaguely remember how it works but would love if there is a way to get aclimated back to it!

I started playing as a way to connect and do something with my children. They were very active users and wanted me to join them. Now they are all grown up and are less active on the site, but I am still going strong. I love all the seasonal events. I remember how excited I was when I first defeated Mephysto in the battle coliseum. Now my goal is to beat Rouland, but still have a way to go.

The candy cane or peppermint as a real pet color. We'vve had several plushues of different pets with this color so its always felt weard to me that our pets dont have the ability to get this color like their other plushie color variation counterparts.

There are quite alot of memories I have experianced on Subeta, to pick out one is a bit difficult. I would have to say that by far the most fun I ever had was the Bad Omen Plot! SO MUCH fun!!!!!! The interacting with other players, the camaraderie, team building and meeting other players was so much fun. I looked forward to logging on every day to see what was going to happen next and I didn't want to be late! :) Of all the plots, games and events this was the most fun I have ever experianced on Subeta. <3

I would like to see something like the trivia we used to have that would give out exclusive items.

I have been on this Subeta for a long time, I moved over from the yellow site when they started to get strict with contests. Subeta welcomed me with more freedom in what I wanted to say and how I wanted to express myself (the items were way cool too). While my husband didn't play he was always interested in what was going on here and what new items there were, especially if they had to do with a chartacter from a movie. Subeta has always took interest in the members ideas and thoughts, they look into errors and fix them as soon as they can and make it fun for everyone.

Subeta has always brought me to a place away from the real world and for that I am always thankful to for creating and continuing to build this site for us, you and me. <3

My favorite memory is finding the site, knowing some people here already, and then having a bunch of other friends join the site as well. I first heard about it on the Neoquest thread over on Neo, and just loved the pet art and the unique items so much.

I also vividly remember the first Survival, and it's still my favorite event to this day. (Morostide is a close second.) Everything was so weird and unpredictable, and a lot of fun. I held onto my Boobitis skin all these years (and I realized as I typed it that that phrasing was kinda weird and gross).

There were so many specific pet colors that I loved and was disappointed to see changed over the years that I feel like I should post about wanting to see them again. But, I found new colors/species that I like just as much or better, and like being surprised when new ones are released. So, um, new pets or colors?

Subeta has helped me keep in touch with a great group of people for like 20 years now, and meet new ones too. I'll always be grateful for that!

Some Memories:

• I loved the History of Ziara event - the plot about the time travel in the history of Ziara and the mini games (I really like the Ziara minigames with the aircraft). I really like Ziara theme and I enjoy Masquerade (I love seeing all people outfits and dance with random people).
• I have many good memories from Survivals. The strain progress is so fun to watch. It is really fun to kiss and bite peopleXD. I have so many lovely interaction with people from these events:D.
• I was so happy when Yaherra become a pet. I tried to get Yaherra numerous time as experiment without luck. (Now I have too much Yaherra:D).

Something I'd Love to See

• I would like to see more plants and seeds in garden or new feature like this (where you can grow and harvest stuff).
• I would like to see more things like Composting or Mysterious Melody.
• I would like to see something like Random dancing or old Mysterious Melody - where you can enter and be connected to someone, who is also online and exchange with that person messages or items.
• I would like to see change in snowballing - It would great if people can enter ''Snowball field'' and than throw and got snowballs. And some ice items, which you get as random event when someone hits you with a snowball.
• This is totally random and specific, but I going to write it anyway: It would be fun, if players can get to the Rift after meeting some special conditions (like playing Subeta for month, got some achievements...). The Rift could be used it to travel ''back in time'' (visiting some plot or history of character on the site or old forum posts...). There can be warning, that every player can visit the specific timeline once or something.
