Something I'd Love to See

I'd like to have more control over contact features on the site beyond just turning off sMail. Specifically, I need an option to disable anonymous gifts. I know we can delete gift notifications, but I would very much like to be able to prevent users from sending items & messages entirely (including items sent through inventory). Ideally, these would be separate settings from the current friend toggle on the dashboard. An "Everyone / Friends Only / No One" selection for receiving gifts would work, along with an additional check box to disable receiving anonymous gifts sent through the gifting feature.

Would also like to be able to turn off profile comments, as there are ways to still comment a user, even with the comment field on the profile is removed. Also would like to turn off / opt out of major site event interactions (I know a few people have mentioned snow ball throwing specifically, but for larger events too). Possibly turning off the ability for people to ping you too. I am probably forgetting something, hopefully what I am suggesting is still understood, even if it's all probably not doable.

Lastly, hoping the Kumos build will eventually start respecting the stealth mode option & no longer show the last time a user has been online, when they choose to disable that. Last time I checked, it does not.

There’s so many I have as I’ve been on the site for almost 20 years now! I did enjoy the plots and events, most particularly: Masquerade 2013 Peka Boo as that was such a creative event!

Would love to see a Latte/coffee pet recolour as I love the colour combination! Like the kumos wearable in the kumos moon latte item. I’m always excited to see new pet species as well, especially a cephalopod or lizard/salamander type.

Definitely plots, especially the first Survival when we didn't know what was going on! The less fun part about it: back then, you also could not just put the zombie skin on and off when you wanted, so I ran around as a zombie for forever and it was really hard to cover it in HAs because the options were very limited and mostly expensive.

I know why we can't have new plots, but I've seen people suggest to rerun old plots and I think that would be such a good idea! I think it would be so much fun - and if anyone didn't think so, they could just not join. Also, as has been suggested in this thread before, the ability to search wishlists against items we own would be so useful!

I joined Subeta sixteen years ago when a friend I'd made on another pet site told me how much more fun and engaging this platform was. I quickly become hooked, and continued to play with devotion for years. Even though I've had dips in my activity over that very long time, I always come back and feel so much nostalgia.

One of my favorite memories was the first iteration of the zombie outbreak. It was so much fun seeing everyone turns in the forums, and to watch the lore grow.

An extra special achievement box for 10 years would be pretty neat, or more NPC related content. I love when plots happen on the website! But none of that's necessary, you're all doing such great work already.

Thank you for keeping Subeta such a fun place to spend time in an internet that has become more of a giant shopping mall than anything. It's still such a good time here!

16 years since joining Subeta and I can't imagine a life without it. My oldest friend, my soul sister and I met here and we still talk to this day. introduced me to the Lair Bears and I'm so thankful for each and everyone one of you. So many memories. I originally joined as a Neopets refugee, way back when Subeta Oeikaki was a thing and darkmatter archans didn't exist yet. Then my computer fried itself and I forgot about all the petsites completely for more than a few years, until a piece of old artwork reminded me of my long lost pets. My original account and pets were long gone when I came back in 2011, but I signed up anyway and prepared to start over. Thanks to the many wonderful Individuals like , and , and thanks to groups of even more wonderful people like Lauries Lair, The Neglected Ones and Adult Subeta Players, I quickly felt right at home again.

Something I'd Love to See

As far as things I'd love to see; I'd love for games like Tubular Tiles and the bug squishing game to make a comeback. A klondike solitare or freecell style card game would also be a fun addition.

Subeta has always been a stress relieving escape for me. Making new friends with people from all around the globe was an unexpected and joyous bonus. I find it wonderful that so many differing people can all feel safe and welcome here!

I had so much fun playing on the forums with Wizarding, The Neglected Ones, Wayward Squirrel, and various threads organized by many lovely people. I also have fond memories of baking a cake irl for an official Subeta challenge, and enjoyed the various Subeta plots and holiday events throughout the years. It was very cool for the staff to reveal that their HAs were dressed as Islanders for a plot they unveiled to us. Thanks for all the good times!

I'd like to see more irl showcases again. So many Subeta users are creative, and events that allow us to use our hands and brains are fun ways of interacting with the community. Baking, ornament making, different physical arts, crafts, etc. It would be a cute way to think about existing Subeta holidays.

As someone who's account is 19+ years old, I have about a handful.

1. When I submitted my first CW to the site. I believe it's the . It's a tribute item to the Kpop group SHINee.
2. The generosity of fellow users. When there was the collective Quests being completed, I was gifted a Gold Account Medal to help assist. This was when I was unable to afford Gold Accounts.
3. The plots.
4. I recall seeing Item Hunt ask for a ridiculously high priced item on a high level (towards the end ones, if I recall correctly), and literally got mad that he or it was asking for such a ridiculously priced item, gave up and never really got back to completing Item Hunt's quest again. Afterwards I heard of a forum thread that one could ask for assistance, but since I was unexpectedly angered by Item Hunt's audacity that I never did check out the thread.

As someone who's been somewhat inactive for a while due to personal reasons (I only use the legacy site for a handful of dailies on my mobile), I would like the events delete function to actually function properly by being able to delete automatically upon clicking, on both mobile devices and desktop/laptop devices, especially the mass delete. I know that I did contact Subeta Staff through the tickets last year I think? for assistance, but the events that I have on my events lists are numerous and I think it seemed to re-appear again so I also gave up trying to delete the events (for now).

Wow, Subeta is now 21 years old/young. Congrats! Here's also to 21 (at least!) more years to come. I hope that I can try to make more time to come to play on Subeta, instead of relying on mobile games which are very play to profit (the business).

I remember starting Subeta while in high school during the first years of the site. I was on a big virtual pet kick. I really enjoyed the act of creating pets, giving them character, and building their treasures around this idea. I learned basic HTML from tweaking pet pages and invested most of my wealth on the site in feeding my pets potions to fit their style and building treasures that would reflect the ideas I had. It was also when I was at my most creative. I did a lot of art during this time, which first began as "pet overlay" edits. I was mediocre at first, but over time I felt I improved... ...and then, I would jump from doing edits to custom artwork for my pets.

I remember when I was big into the anime Keroro Gunsou and a banner was purchased to celebrate my birthday, in 2008. I took a screenshot of it (and MAN does this take me back):

High school was half of my life ago. A lot of my profiles and those of my pets are broken. These days, it has become difficult to do the hobbies I once loved. I write a lot more than I draw, but I used to do both fairly evenly. I would like to re-engage with art, especially as I find myself now at another major life crossroads in my mid-thirties.

I know the Kumos site is still a work in progress, but I am a little saddened that there seems to be less emphasis on the customization of pets/profile. This is something I have always loved about the site and was a major driver in my interactions here. I recognize that virtual pets may not have the same appeal to newer or younger users in the present day as they did the past, but I still love my pets and wish that I could visit their pages or display more of them on my profile on Kumos. But, these could be things the devs are already working on.

This is probably a bit late and I can only check in every few weeks nowadays due to life stuff, but I really love the variety of memories being shared and have always loved my time on Subeta.

I remember introducing lots of friends to this website, but I mainly remember when a childhood friend introduced me to it. His name was Alex and he traveled to another state far away from me when we were still becoming teenagers. I lost contact with him a long time ago, but I still remember how much of a good friend he was, and how Subeta had a lot of influence in my life. Now... I didn't accomplish many feats here, but I do remember winning a potion lottery at some point and getting super happy about it.

Since I've been inactive and still trying to catch up again, I have no idea. I just wish the best for Subeta and everyone involved in making it alive to this very day. This is a part of the internet that I'm sure means a lot to many people and to me too. If I remember anything I'd wish to see, I will be sure to send a feedback somewhere.

I joined Subeta on my 19th birthday while in college because of my friends. My favorite memory was when the plots started. I loved the Masquerade murder mystery, but the Saheric puzzles were where I had the most fun! I had fun decoding a cypher on my own without help and being one of the frist to get it right! And then there was the releaes of Shengui Guo and all the plot with that! I still have a lot of the items from these events, and they're a great reminder.
