That is a good idea! The mat sheets, that is. They just.. used the towels and laid them down. OR they could cover up with them. I know maintenance wipes the mats down each night, because Charlie complains about it LOL.

Say what? Maintenance has to wipe down the mats? Heck no. Our custodians would go insane doing that daily. WE would be the ones required to do that if it had to be done. No. I think that is why they require a cover AND a blanket, so that we don't have to worry about a dirty mat (but uh, the covers get dirty too so...) But yea. The mats are the red/blue foldable ones. They get folded back up daily with the covers still on and put in the closet. The blankets go back in the kids cubby. Send cover/blanket home Fridays to be washed. During covid, we put blankets in with mats, and separated the kids mats from the others by placing them in trash bags then stacking the trash bags LOL

It only takes like 15 minutes to do all of them in all three classrooms, so it's really not that bad, apparently.

Well ok. I would think it would take a lot longer. We have 2 PreK classrooms w/ 20 kids in each at my school. So that might be part of the difference, aren't your classes smaller?

I don't think our custodians wipe down desks, doorknobs or anything else either tho ? :P They do sweep, mop, vacuum, they take out the trash, they wipe the lunch tables after lunch, they run a machine over the floors in the hallway....One custodian used to dust in the kinder room I worked in, but this one doesn't dust for us in PreK...so maybe that is a personal thing? They clean the bathrooms....3x a day....

I wipe the tables/chairs and whatever else I think needs wiping at the end of the day. Lots of teachers don't even do that any more....we were required during covid to do a bit more sanitizing but usually thats not the case.

Edit: 735 pm giggles So I was about to record my flip video and Cheddar jumped up and demanded attention. Well. The videos were all about reading/writing and the story used was "The Best Pet" and the teacher was talking about her pet cat...so I let Cheddar stay in the recording LOL Hopefully that doesn't come across as unprofessional :P

Yes, we have 4-5 kinder classrooms with 8-11 kids. There's more kindergarten teachers than any other grade.. but there's still less kindergarteners than any other grade :P

Ours don't clean the lunch tables, but they do clean the desks, floors, take out trash etc.

11 kids. What a dream. The few days we had a bunch out sick was nice because there were so few kids. Of course, not the ones that we could have used a break from, but eh. Can't have everything right? I think one day last week we had 7 kids absent out of 20! It was crazy.

Our kinder teachers have 18-21 kids this year. We have 5 kinder classes.

I'm going to take my medicine and go read in bed and probably fall asleep :P I'm still so tired. I think party because I've not been sleeping well due to coughing still. That was way less today tho, so maybe its beginning to go away a bit. Its always worse at night tho. (when I lay down) so I"ve been propping up on two pillows half sitting up to sleep :P not the best way to sleep but helps with coughing.

Oh yeah, I've been sleeping with my head propped up, too. I went through two bottles of nyquil, then I stopped taking the cough medicine because I wasn't all like.. croupy and gross anymore? Mostly :P

Well, , she is the one who made my schedule. So I think she just forgot, as there are other students who CAN take summer classes. I can't. I was told none of the summer classes are ones I need, I've already taken them at my other college. So she just needs to look at my schedule instead of assume. But yea. Get it together lady! Lol

Also I am beginning to think my covid test did a false negative. The teacher next door has symptoms just like I had...and she tested positive yesterday afternoon!! Also I've got a funky headache. Kind of like I had long ago when covid first began...and shortly after that, the same teacher next door ended up with covid. So Maybe I have it and just test negative? I dunno. It's weird

I'd take another test. Kat. Do you have an at home one? You may have taken teh last one too early.

I have to take Lily to get new glasses today but first I'm just so annoyed at her for never doing her chores correctly like.. arghhhhh.

Mmm. I'll debate getting a home test. But I can't afford to go back to the doctor to get tested again. That's a $35 copay plus 80% of whatever that test costs. At home tests are less than $10 now aren't they?

But I feel either way I'm on my way back up and would probably be required to be at school(work) anyway

Looked up protocols. Based on my situation I should have been wearing a mask this week. Oops. I am trying to social distance from the other adults...not so much from the kids because that is harder to do (especially when I have to deal with the certain ones....) But have also tried to keep those interactions I do have with kids brief. So. Eh. I dunno.

Well when I got the negative test I just was like, eh? Ok I don't have covid...even tho I had a possible exposure - I had even forgotten what all the symptoms were. But when the teacher next door got sick....well I looked it up since her symptoms were so much like mine. I honestly never felt the masks did anything to stop covid anyway. And whenever I feel sick, even with just a cold, I try to keep at least a bit apart. I don't like getting others sick, but as a teacher unless you are contagious (like, fever and throwing up) you do your best to be at work anyway. We are "essential" workers :P

So I emailed the lady again, explaining that i was NOT a generate student, and that I DID NOT have summer classes on my schedule and that the FALL class she wanted me to register for was for generate students only and she writes back "I will start registering students for summer classes soon. You will take four classes this summer because you are a generate student" FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! I JUST TOLD YOU I WAS NOT!!!

[edit] Saturday 1045am So, I have gone shopping and finished almost all of my schoolwork. I have to respond to two other people's Flipgrid videos still, but only one other person has posted one so far. Turned in my responses and study questions for religion class.

Now I guess I take a break from schoolwork and do some housework. Ugh. Need to hang up/put away all my laundry. I've been living out of the basket for at least two weeks now LOL Also have lots of dishes to finish washing as Nathan is as lazy as me about things and doesn't help unless I make him. (and even when he DOES help, he doesn't do it ALL) I need to vacuum, sweep, mop and do laundry this weekend as well. BLAAAAAH

I am HOPING the weather will be nice the week after next (we have a week off - no school for kids or teachers - midwinter break)(I will have college classwork tho), so that I can work on cleaning up the yard/backhouse. I wanted to get a dumpster, but I might not just yet - I might just try to tidy things up, and move them around, and take some loads of trash to the dump myself for right now (things I can put in trash bags). But if the weather is too cold or rainy I will not do any of that! :P

I think I'm getting sick again, I swear, I can't take working with kids any longer :P

We did storytime at the library today, Lilys first time completely completely running it. They made paper plate lovebirds, and heart tissue paper suncatchers. I'm getting quite a collection on my window now :P From the example ones.

Then I went grocery shopping.. washed my sheets and pillowcases this morning, just febreezed my blanket, it'll be fine until next week :P Washed Iz's sheet and blankets, did my laundry before we left.

Gonna hve to remake my bed though, not super super thrilled about that. I understand why adults have their beds in the middle of the room whenever I have to make my corner bed :P

Oh heck no. I can't stand a bed anymore that is up against a wall. It is one thing if its a twin, but any bigger? Too hard to make unless you can walk around all sides of it!!

[edit] 1020am Sunday Well I logged back into flip, and two more people had posted, so that is 3 besides me. So I just gave up and commented on two of them. I don't want to have to try and remember to come back late tonight. I felt like I was pretty much saying the same thing I said in my own post tho - since they chose things so very similar to me. Eh well. Made Nathan come out and move the couches for me - so the LR is all nice and vacuumed and clean. I also swept and mopped the kitchen floor this morning. He half-assed it last night after he dropped a root beer (glass) bottle all over the floor :P I wanted to do it anyway, but the boy COULD have done it right last night so i didn't have to, but nooooo LOL
