at least in my class last term the teacher understood that doing lessons for toddlers was supposed to be EASIER and didn't need all this crap. She blanked out like half the lesson plan.

edit: you know what the best part is? (SARCASM HERE) I get to do it ALL again, next week, for PreK age students. WHAT FUN!

ROFLMAO SURE!! My 4yr olds can totally understand what to type out for culturally appropriate and responsive teaching. Not to mention research-based learning and differentiation!! :P

Honestly right now I want to type in "There is no need for culturally appropriate responsiveness for this lesson" or "this is not relevant to this lesson" or something hahahah but that is NOT what the teacher is looking for I'm sure!

- But, that may be exactly what she's looking for. She may want you to state it outright so she knows that you understands. I really don't think 2-3 year olds know more culturally then Santa, you know? And sometimes they don't even know who he is. 😂

Today when I woke up I decided that I wanted to donate commonly banned books to our local library. So I sent them and email and asked what they wanted. The head librarian is going to ask the other librarians and get back to me. She was very excited.

If my kids were older I'd just buy scores of copies of 1984 and leave them around local high schools. I told the librarian that I'd prefer to donate children's and younger teen books, but others are fine too!

maybe so. My teacher last term, who is my advisor AND the overall head of the whole program DID give me a note on my lesson plan for her, stating something to the effect that I would not really need to write in something for everything. I guess I just kind of overthink it, especially at first. Because WHY are they asking for it, if it isn't needed? ARGH LOL

Hi Zabrie. I have never understood why books get banned. Because if you ban it, it makes it more interesting to me honestly. I want to know what was in it that someone felt it needed to be banned from people reading it!!

I love it. Seriously, that's terrific.

The girl and boy scouts got together and built a "Banned book little free library" a few years ago and it's actually really popular LOL.

And books are banned for the STUPIDEST reasons.. although, I know you know that, living in Texas!

- That is absolutely brilliant. I think I'm going to contact my local library and see what books they need. Perhaps doing something like that will help me get past this. Oh and, "Hi! Itt's nice to meet you." :D

- I think your advisor is spot on. Sometimes the professors just want to make sure of what you actually do and don't understand so they can provide more instruction if you don't. Then again, I had a couple of professors who did that just to see what they could mark down because they were the "No one gets a 100% in my class" mentality.

- I love it! Kudos to the boy and girl scouts for doing that. I had the luxury of homeschooling my youngest and his reading list compromised the local school's banned book list. :)) If my hubby hadn't understood then ww3 would have broken out in our living room. He completely understood and comiserated with me. He was just trying to calm me down because my blood pressure was really high and I couldn't calm down enough to get it to lower. He didn't want me going back to the hospital. Since Wednesday morning we've had quite a few conversations hashing out what happened and why. Neither of us is quite sure about why, though. But, I'm doing much better today, not as grumpy. :D

My hubby was right there with m in our shock and horror at the outcome. They just didn't get as worked up about it as I did. I was so upset my blood pressure spiked and my hubby was only trying to calm me down so I didn't end up back in the hospital. I think I must have worded my initial post badly. I was still a bit miffed when I wrote it. I'm ok now, though. More rational at least. :P :D

i hate when my blood pressure goes up and I can FEEL it happening. Its weird and freaky. Luckily mine has been pretty good lately.

Wooohooo! New board soon. 6 more posts. 😂 I also hate it when my BP goes up. The only thing I can do is calm myself because my cardiologist took me off all my BP meds to see if it was the cause of the renal failure. They don't think it was but they won't let me take any until after my echocardiogram on 11/26. So, you can see why my hubby was worried. I should have put this all in the first post. Ugh. I hate posting when I'm emotional. It almost always ends up with me forgetting to put in something important. 😂 XD

no worries, we all have things about us that WE know and just don't think to tell others! LOL

I'm on blood pressure med, and cholesterol med. And I have a pain med, which makes the blood pressure go up, so yay? I mean honestly. But so does cough medicine (which I need regularly especially in winter or else. ... well we won't go there. PLUS one or both of the medicines MAKE me cough too) Sheesh. Can't win for losing with medicines you know?

Ran off to finish cooking and eat dinner. Realized I'd finished my week 4 quick write, but did not turn it in yet (not due til Sunday night anyway) so thought I'd work on week 5. And then FINISH the lesson plan if I can. And then get started on the other class stuff (reading, video, more reading, quiz)

- Wait, you mean pain medicine can make your BP go up? I never thought of that before. My pain med makes me calm and a bit loopy sometimes. I'm going to check and see if it elevates BP too. Oh, I'm on the cholesterol meds too and my cholesterol levels are perfect. The one that gets me is my Triglycerides. I've been able to lower it on my own but it's still high. It's always something. 😂

It seems you have a handle onyour lessons. I always got my lessons done ahead of time. I hated having them loom over me and interfering in my enjoyment of things like when I was playing a game. I didn't want it marred by thoughts of unfinished schoolwork. Butt, I hated doing videos. Those I waited until the last minute to do. I really hated editing them together. Then there were the ones that you had to do in one continous take. Ugh, they were the bane of my school existence. XD

I swear, my doctor told me that or I read it in my paperwork on the medicine. I could be remembering wrong. I take meloxicam for my pain. Once a day pain medicine. The doctor just increased my cholesterol meds since my cholesterol was "stable but not lowering" - I guess they want it lower :P Also said "it could be genetic" yea probably! :P I know my mom and dad have health issues LOL Dad is diabetic, heart issues (triple bypass, has a whatchalllit - oh pace maker lol) mom has thyroid, blood pressure and I dont' remember what else

Oh I don't have to DO a video, I only have to watch one - after I read the chapter and article, and before I take the quiz.

Thankfully I've never had to put together a video for an assignment (other than simply recording myself talk for the silly discussions) And I have a PLAN, always, for my work, don't always feel I have a handle on it. I was SOOO frustrated last night by the lesson plan.

I hope everyone had a better today than yesterday and I hope your tomorrow is better than today. We need to take things one day at a time.

Today I'm taking Lily to a birthday party and treating myself to duck donuts, and then we're going grocery shopping before we come home.. so late night dinner!

BUT! Lions are district champs, and the marching band uniforms have been hung up for the last time this season. They're just a pep band at any of the rest of the playoff games, so they can wear whatever they want (Which.. is pajamas. It's always pajamas!)
