Hiii yes. So annoying. But yes. I got it done. She assigned me to someone else instead. I even recorded my second video (no problem this time). Now have to see who she assigns me to comment on and can finish that and do the work ethics. Tho I could probably go ahead and do that now even w/o having done the comments honestly.

Aaahhh lazy days sounds nice. I have had .... Lazy hours? During my week off of school. Since I did still have classes and stuff to do.

Were-mieke. Giggles I often don't shave for months. I'm not bothered by the hair and I wear pants 90% of my life anyway.

Some chill time was definitely needed!

I like being shaved, I just don't especially enjoy doing it :P And I've barely had time to shower off and wash my hair lately haha.

Ugh yes shaving..I wish that had NEVER been a standard for women to be shaved because it's annoying and I'm good at nicking myself!

What are lazy days? I work or go to school every day pretty much! Not much downtime. People always ask what I do on the weekends and I have to answer "work" unless it's a vacation.

[edit] Class is over for tonight. And OMG the misunderstandings that went on tonight. I mean nothing bad by this honestly, but our teacher is 1. foreign. 2. speech impaired (hearing loss). So she has an accent, as well as a different way of talking to due her hearing loss, and it makes it very difficult to understand her....and she also sometimes has difficulty understanding the students. Really makes for a mess of class sometimes. I think in the end, we get where we need to be tho, thankfully. AND tonight she decided she wanted us to try this live discussion board thing, where everyone was supposed to be able to click on virtual post it notes and type and instead we had people (including me!) making things BIG, little, disappear, move, etc. What a mess. I never could figure out how to type on it. I had never seen it before todays class and I think a lot of the others had not either. HALFWAY THROUGH THE TERM tho!! YAY for that. We're making it, slow but steady progress.

Yeah....the world is a mess.

I was depressed all day yesterday.

But.. that was yesterday. Today is for doing stuff..

So I'm working on Lilys Inclusion Club project, she started a classroom closet with stuff like pads, tampons, toothbrushes and toothpaste, soap, brushes, deodorant, hair ties, etc. And she's already gotten a really great response, but people have left notes asking if there was a way to get things like underwear, etc.

So this morning I helped her write up a letter asking for donations and she's going to be sending it out from the school.

Plus my friend and I (the one who's in charge of the library), are seeing if we can do something similar there, for anyone who needs it. I reached out to the mens and womens civics clubs to see if maybe they'd be willing to fund it.

AND I reached out to my friend at the borough, which actually owns the library. The library is only open a few hours a week, but the borough hall is open daily and has a bunch of space too.. and there's actually a surprising amount of need.

I guess.. I'm just feeling the need to DO MORE, you know?

I was a mess yesterday. I had a complete meltdown yesterday morning and wasn't fit for company either on or offline. I'm still not past it all yet.I feel dejected and a bit (ok, a lot) terrified. I'm hoping beyond hope that the next 4 years will prove him as full of hot air as the previous 4 years did. If it goes like I'm terrified it will then I mourn for this country. Sorry I'm being so dramatic but I have no one else to talk to about this. Hubby is frustrated with me and my kids only partially understand. I can't talk to my Dad either because he's for the opposite camp. ugh

Kat - I had professors like you describe. Not deaf or having a speech impediment but ones who were always finding these weird online programs for us to try out. Most of our online group sessions were spent trying to learn how to suse these programs that we never used again once the class was over. XD

Mieke - Your daughter's project sounds like a wonderful way to help those who may not be able to help themselves. Thank her for me, from one person who knows what it feels like to not have the proper items needed for good hygene while growing up. I wish someone had done this for me when I was growing up. :)

Zabrie - It'll get better, I hope. We'll survive because that's what we are, survivors. :)

I've got to get on doing my lesson plan for toddlers at the very least. Urgh. Trying to figure it out. I know i can do it, but the template she showed us is I THINK the same templete minus the actual template part? Like, its not all divided up into the table format, but it has all the same type of sections. Its weird, but its very similar so I know I can do it, I just have to DO IT So off I go, instead of being on here for fun!

- I just felt gut-punched. Like all the wind was taken out of my sails. I really hope that it doesn't end in disaster, too. It's nice to know that I'm not alone in this.

I wish I had assignments to take my mind off this mess. I did find another pet site called Ice Pets. It seemed nice but it had 6 people online when I was on there a couple of days ago. Has anyone heard of it? Is anyone here members of another pet site they like and are willing to share? I just need a distraction and I think a new game would be the best one. :)

I will send Daisy your way to distract you. Annoying puppy!!! :P I have not heard of that other pet site. I only play on here. I used to play on Neopets before I joined here and stopped playing neopets probably two years into playing on here. (I've been here 16 or 17 years now)

I cannnnnnooooot get into my stupid lesson plan. I think my brain just isn't into it right now. All the technical words and directions are not helping. I even have a example lesson plan to look at and am STILL just going uuuuuuuhhhhh what do I put here?

- I'd take Daisy and let her be a puppy all over the place. 😂 I've been trying to talk my hubby in letting me get a kitten but he is afraid I'll smush it because I didn't see it. Oh, well. I'll wear him down eventually. ;) I'm the same, I migrated here from Neopets and never looked back. I play here because the site is compatible with my screen reader. I can't play Neopets anymore because it's not screen reader friendly. So far, Ice pets is screen reader friendly but I haven't even created a pet there yet so we'll see. I know how you feel. Sometimes I had to leave my assignments until the last minute because my brain just would not grasp what I needed to do yet. You'll get it done, I know you will. :)

I think that part of it is that I feel a lot of the questions its asking is not really relevant to the lesson so I'm stumped on what to put or do I just ignore it or what I mean, for this lesson, I'm supposed to be doing something literacy for 2-3yr olds, so I chose a GELD strand of "the child will acquire meaning from a variety of materials read to him/her" with a more specific standard of "the child will answer simple questions about a story". Should not be so hard to set up a lesson plan right? Then the lesson plan asks "how will you consider culturally appropriate, age appropriate, and differentiated instruction? what is the theoretical or research basis for this lesson? How will you connect the research to the lesson? how will you remediate or enrich the lesson? (and more like that)

sorry but NONE of that is really appropriate for reading a story and answering questions about it. but if I ignore it, do I lose points? AND AGAIN - no one I know (no teachers!) use this type of crap on their lesson plans. I get that it is so that MY teachers know I understand the background and research on WHY certain types of lessons work and the best way to do them and adapt them or whatever but its annoying.

edit: aww I just popped over to my other class and saw my self-reflection (work ethics) assignment was graded...and my teacher commented "I always enjoy reading your assignments, they are thoughtful and engaging". way to make me feel better. even if it IS for the other class!!

- My professors would give me stuff like that. I always thought of it as busy work instead of actual things I would learn from. Try setting up the parts of the assignment that are relevant and then go back and fill in the parts that are irrelevant after you let it sit for a bit. You may find the answers coming more freely then. :)

- yeah that is exactly what I am trying to do right now! great minds think alike lol
