Yea I don't know what changed. My health plan? The clinic style? I dunno. I don't remember having a deductible before with the health plan I have which is why I chose it. But I have a $1300 deductible now. And have to pay $35 copay for office visit AND 80% of whatever else I do (so like today, the flu/covid tests and the two shots for medication)-until I pay all of the deductible. Maybe I always had a deductible but the clinic never charged me anything but the copay? I don't know! :P Eh Whatever. Hopefully I won't get sick much more. I used up all my health funds already and its only February sigh (I get a set amount taken out every paycheck and put onto a card that I have access to starting Jan 1st to pay for healthcare costs). I would like universal healthcare, but I think there are downsides to that as well. I know there would be here in the USA for sure. They'd put in some sort of stupidity. They already have when they FINED people for not having insurance in the first place, years ago. Like what? I can't afford insurance, I don't have the money for it, so you are going to take MORE money from me? Oh yes that makes sense. Not to mention, what about my FREEDOM to choose? If I chose not to have insurance, that is my choice = I should then have to pay the doctor whatever amount he chooses to charge me. Ok off that high-horse. I don't really want to get started, but that whole thing did annoy me.

Anyway. Since I am home today, I have been working on the study questions. I am (once again) not sure I am doing it right....I feel like I'm not. But. I felt that way the last two times and got a 100 on each. So. Meh. I'm just doing what I think and he can grade it however he wants LOL I have about half of them done now. I really only have to have a C to pass this class. I'll be fine. I just do NOT like getting a lower grade. I think I'm a bit of a perfectionist hahahaha GIMME ALL As!!! :P

ANYWAY. Yea. I was just shocked, but was like well I'm already here so let me pay it. Sheesh. Remind me not to get sick again. Or else to just STAY HOME and treat myself with OTCs or something. Ugh. Oh yes and I used up the last of the money on my health card at the pharmacy. It was $20 something for the prescriptions, and I ran the card and she told me I still owed $7 something.... umm? SO I was like, uuuhh so it just took of whatever remaining balance I had on the card? Because at the doctor it just declined it when I didn't have enough? She said yea, it did, but I can decline it if you don't want to use it? I was like no, use it, I owe you how much more?? So yea. $500 gone in a month. Sheesh. (*to be fair, 2 doctor visits AND a dental visit...so..)

And now I am TOTALLY CONFUSED. I got the mail. In the mail are TWO checks. From DECAL. One says scholarships and is the $500....which like I said I was expecting from them, but then I got the $500 from Mercer so I thought it was sent that way? APPARENTLY NOT??? BUT - I also got a $1000 check from them???? For "power-ed" whatever that is!! ??? I AM SO CONFUSED - Where did this money come from? What is it for? What was the $500 from Mercer for?? I am very grateful to have gotten it, but NOT if I have to pay money back somewhere else!!!! :o

I am looking up online about DECAL power-ed payments. Apparently if you get into the scholarships program you are automatically eligible for the power-ed $ and it says I can also still apply for the incentives program I was looking at (the one I can't do til September).... huh. Ok then.

Edit: 715pm Whats with the one-two punches? Sheesh. So like, I get $, I spend most of it at the doctor. I get more money. I now have to pay for gas for the trip (I was going to offer to help but now we're going in my car instead as Nathan and Stan are going too now, sooo yea.).... Also I got a notice of under funded escrow for the mortgage and since I'd had that extra $ earlier, I just paid it up to not-negative ... now I got MORE $ (happy happy) by editing my withholding and these surprise checks... and got an email saying they are doing an escrow analysis...last time that meant they upped my mortgage....I don't know what it will mean this time since I sent in some $ for escrow. AND dang right I MARKED That check AND wrote a note stating to apply it to ESCROW. AND took a picture of the check and a the note. So it damn well better have been applied to escrow. It only JUST showed up as pending in my bank account today (I sent it in 2-2 1/2 weeks ago).

Everything will sort itself out I guess. (money wise - mortgage wise - whatever. Class crap too) I'm debating emailing the finance department at Mercer to ask what the heck the $500 is for from them.

I just finished up my schoolwork - well all except the rest of the study questions. I have to finish that. I did my discussion responses, and took my quiz ... I hate essay type answers. So there is 22 questions on the exam. I got 12/14 of those I could answer by clicking a choice correct (on one I had a total brain fart (it was supposed to be "ALL of the above" but I chose the last choice, singular answer I had written down on the study guide because in the guide, the other choices were written into the question. but not on the exam. hahahah), oh well! - the other question on philosophers- the two people are so similar its hard to remember which one is the best choice and I chose wrong, again oh well!). BUT that leaves 8 questions for her to grade before I know my actual score.

I still have a cracker barrel gift card. And I think some $ left on the DQ card. Its nice to go out to eat for free ;)

El had a game night last night at school with their friends, then spent the night in Nyxs dorm room (this happens a lot, she even has sheets for the second bed in there just for her LOL), but they also had another friend sleep over with them. BUT they also invited Lilys ex bf to come and play games with them, and HE HAD SO MUCH FUN. I'm so glad!

It was my idea for her to invite him, but El and Connor always got along, and he really needs some college age friends... even if they're not at HIS school. And it really worked out, so maybe they'll all keep hanging out and doing fun things together.

We're going to Olive Garden, which was eat.. maybe once every three years or so LOL. But I can go for some eggplant parm so.. it'll be fine! El and Lily like it a lot, the rest of us.. not so much :P But it'll be fine! My MiL got me gift cards for my birthday and Christmas.

I suppose I am. I still feel like I'm doing bad. Even tho I can look and SEE I am not....I mean I just struggle so much to get the stupid questions answered and I guess I'm over thinking it or something because then I get 100% grade, so... yea. Eh. Half of them I got done Thursday when I stayed home sick. So I only have to finish the other half :P

THEN start reading for next week if I think about it. And maybe feel like I'm getting somewhere? I think that is part of my feeling of not doing well - is that all the other times I've finished stuff up early and this time I feel like I'm barely getting things turned in.

You really are doing incredibly! Even if your grades were like, 80s instead of 100s, you'd be doing incredible! You're working full time, still raising Nathan, doing AMAZINGLY in school and not missing any assignments. You're a freaking rock star, Kat.

Decided on tacos for dinner here. Hope the lettuce is still good :P I bought it last week LOL And never made tacos last week. Eh. Not feeling well all week made me not want to cook or do anything so we ate out or quick meals (like ramen) last week. I am NOT thrilled with my medication. They gave me HORSE PILLS :P I choke on small pills! I have been crushing them up and mixing them with a spoonful of peanut butter to take them LOL

We're supposed to be assigned to our groups to begin our group thematic project this week. Ugh. :( It'll be ok. I hope! I read 2 of the chapters - it was a bit weird the way she assigned it "read chapter 9 and 10 OR chapter 10 and 11" :P I read 9/10 - preschool and kindergarten classroom/learning. Ch 11 is 1st-3rd classrooms. I bet those will be essay type questions depending on what chapters you read, in the next exam!!

Doing laundry today. Sitting around in my PJ's. No clean towels. No clean bras. Nathan dragged his stuff out here and asked me to wash it too. Lazy butt. Going to make him finish the dishes because I am still exhausted feeling and I know I am not about to be able to stand up for an hour or so doing dishes. (yes, Its piled up again sigh)

EDIT 5pm Monday My academic advisor is a freaking royal PITA. So. I got this email saying to register for fieldwork (some special application to approve us to work with the kids I guess). So. It says apply for Summer/Fall. I contact my advisor, say I do not have summer classes scheduled, should I only register for fall? SHE writes back to me, that she will be registering me for FOUR classes for the summer? EXCUSE ME? NO? My schedule is pretty much already set up. I have been TOLD I have NO CLASSES I can take during the summer so I won't be taking any summer classes. She tells me to register for both summer and fall. She will check my schedule later. FINE> SO I go to the website link to register. IT says the one class is summer OR fall (I have it scheduled for FALL!). Then it says the 2nd class is for GENERATE students only for fall semester. (I have that class listed for spring anyway). SO I can't even register for it anyway??? I am NOT a generate student. I am debating emailing her again today, or waiting a day or two to see if she gets back to me on her own. I have until Feb 29 to register. I am also supposed to be able to do this work in my own classroom, but it sounds like they'll be doing placements somewhere else, which is what the whole application is for??? HUH? I AM SO CONFUSED and FRUSTRATED right now with this.

On a better note, the study questions only has 8 this week. LOL But...one of them is extremely long answer he says and will count for 50 points! yikes. And I got a 100 again on last weeks study questions. Not sure how. But ok.

I am not exactly sure, but I think it has something to do with specific counties paying for students schooling if they become teachers in that county? Its like a grant program, and you have to repay it if you don't become a teacher or something? I only heard a little bit about it at orientation.

Ugh Yes. I haven't been sick that long (FOUR WEEKS girl?? UGH!) But it seems like its lasting forever. Almost all the laundry got done yesterday. Not the whites. And not all the towels. But most of it. Good thing tho, because one of the kids had a naptime potty accident, and he uses MY pillowcase and blanket (as his parents half the time do not send his own)...so I brought it home to wash. The last two times I sent it home with HIM for them to wash it took weeks to come back.

For kindergarten here, they just brought in towels every Monday, and they just got sent home Fridays to wash LOL. And they were supposed to have two towels, just in case you forget to send one back :P

Mmm hahaha. One of the question prompts I can answer is "what is your biggest takeway from these videos" - my first thought? I wish my class was that well behaved :P Watching the videos for the flip thing for ECE class since I read the chapters yesterday. Hoping to go ahead and do the flip video tonight if I can get my thoughts together.

Aaaahhh yea I kind of do? I will even bring home the kids own blankets/mat covers if they get left behind on Fridays (forgot, kid put in cubby, or kid absent) to wash them. I also wash the water bottles (the ones I bought/take to school AND any personal ones that get left behind).... They can bring in anything, as long as they have something to cover the mat and something to cover themselves with. So two towels would be acceptable. Most parents do a pillowcase/blanket....or buy a mat cover from the grandma who has been making them for PreK for the past 8 years :P I love those ones. They fit so nicely and slide right on/off the mats. Stores finally got smart and started selling mat sheets, so we get a few of those every year too. Like crib sheets, but made for mats.
