Thanks! I'm now waiting for the results of the prenatal testing. They drew my blood monday, but it's a two week wait for the result and I'm already nervous about it... I really hate these first stages of pregnancy. I kept having nightmares about the results last night.

It was hot here as well. I was working from home today with the doors open and a fan to keep me cool. I'm waiting for the results from the NIPT, which is to test if the baby has Down Syndrome or any other chromosomal abnormality. With my son they didn't offer this test yet, but they did think he possibly had a chromosomal abnormality, so I had to undergo all sorts of tests and it was very stressful. Which is why I'm so anxiously waiting for the results now. I know some of my friends didn't even test for this and assumed that everything would be fine, but I feel like I would like to know beforehand. The stupid thing is, I forgot to ask how I will get the test results. I know a doctor will call me if it's something bad, but I'm not sure how I'm supposed to get a good result.

These last few days where nice. But starting sunday the temps will go up and will be scoring hot! Darn i have to work.

- the orthopedic surgeon was so nice. they x-rayed the ankle and found that the achilles tendon was not torn at all. instead a bunch of ligaments on both sides of the ankle are torn. the torn ones on the inside of the ankle just decided to band together and form the lump that has so worried me for the past few months. the surgeon put me in this contraption called a boot which totally immobilizes my ankle. it also adds about 1 inch to the length of my leg. this has me walking like igor... rofl 😂 hubby found a type of lift online that you attach to the bottom of the other shoe and it levels things out. no more walking like igor. :( i have to wear this thing for 4 weeks and then the doc will re-evaluate things. oh so much fun! 😂

I remember the first time having to wear foot braces (tendonitis on my left foot at first and then eventually on my right foot) and it was a pain in the butt to get a pair of shoes as one foot took up more space than the other.

i am glad they now know what's wrong and you got a brace. Lol when we walk like that we say you like like donald duck walking. Take care!

Working again today till 6pm.. so tired. Just 1 day off at a time... my body and private life are not taking this much longer. When the person who plans is back i need to talk about this...

We're less than 200 posts before this thread gets locked and I need to create a new one so once we break 900 just keep a watch. Once it's locked if y'all would give me a nudge to create the new one. Though I will also try to keep an eye out. But also I forget to check in because I am a bad bad group owner, so there is that.

Can't say anything has been going on here much. Hot weather. Doing a little sorting around the house. Trying to get outside in the mornings (if not too humid) to just be outside. So doing a bit more reading 'cause I will read outside. And a bit more bird watching in the backyard. We're on the edge of some woods so a variety of birds are around and I'd not sat out to just enjoy the birds for a long time. It's raining this morning so no outside today.

Hope everyone that wasn't feeling well over the last weeks since I checked in is feeling all better now.

Have you seen any kind of sparrows where the male has an orange head? I've been trying to look up these birds that always nest in my side covered porch but can't seem to find what they are. I do have pics I can share.
Other than that, I love watching the local bird life. There's hawks flying around, horned owls (except this year :( ) that will talk to each other from opposite sides of the road/trees in the early morning hours, blue jays, cardinals and occasionally I've seen a solid yellow bird. An occasional hummingbird, also, when I have the feeder set up but I let it sit outside over winter and it rusted. -_- Not going to give that to them this year.

Hi everyone. Too hot here to do much. Got shafted yesterday. All these storms blew up and we had a big chance of rain. They even showed us getting hit. Sigh Not one drop! Ugh. Cheated me. Not fair.

Hi! How are you? We don't see many birds because of the cats. Three I claim that go in and out, and the ferals I feed, one in particular. Also one of the neighbors got a small calico, didn't get her fixed, so she has kittens and all of them eat my catfood too.

Hi ! I'm hanging in, considering all the shit happening around and to us (ya know!).
I live in an old neighborhood that still has some land to each property (not like the newer 'burbs that have been built in the old corn fields that used to surround this town) and on a one way street and while that sounds great, I also live next to a VERY busy main road that has only gotten busier w/ all the new 'burbs and schools that have been built within 10 miles of this very same road. Still, my side of the street has a backyard that leads to a creek and a short wooded area that allows for coyotes and the occasionally but very rare deer herd going through. Lots of room for any ferals, if there were any. I rarely see stray cats, although there was a lone coyote out back that my dog chased after - in the middle of the day! (I have chickens, but they're in a pen so they're safe - mostly from all the damn raccoons around, which to be honest is what I think keeps the coyotes around.) The furthest my cats go outside is the porch I was talking to about. I lost my best friend (polydactyl on all 4 paws and solid black w/ a very pointed face) several years ago b/c he got out a few times and one time, he never returned. Too heartbreaking to allow for outside kitties - especially around traffic. I'd like to build an outside cat "house" for them so they can enjoy it but materials in my budget have become scarce.

That happened to us also where I live. Everyone else around me was getting rain while it was nice and sunny.

I really hate that. But Mother Nature does what she wills. lol

Are you talking about Six? I think it was you talking about him. It was so awful, and I have felt that pain when mine have gotten out through the years and were run over in the road. I HATE my cats going in and out, and only those three do. All of them were outside all the time when I got them fixed and adopted them, so I bring them inside and keep them in as often as possible. But they insist on going out and will escape. So I let them out and they will come back in of their own free will, which is the point. Lately they come in often with the heat, so bonus! I make sure they are in all night though.

The catio is easy. Mine is my back porch. We converted it at first with just chicken wire stapled to the inside of the structure and the door. That is pretty cheap. Oh, and we rarely open the door out to the yard from the catio. It is also locked from the inside so it can't be opened from the outside. Of course if someone really wanted in they could cut the chicken wire. People being what they are... I want to add screening to keep out bugs, and provide more privacy. but regular screen the cats' claws will just shread. There is stuff called 'pet screen' which is fabulous and guaranteed not to shread by cats or dogs or even raccoons. But its very expensive. There is a cat door in the bottom of my back door, and we also converted the kitchen window to hold a cat door for them to go in and out. Actually these are dog doors because three of my cats are so big they don't fit through the cat doors. lol These were pretty expensive, but you might be able to build your own. I have some shelves and stuff I want to put in it so it will have ramps and ledges for them to access everywhere and enjoy it. We add stuff when we can. Eventually we will be done. 1 2 3 4

I've managed to shake off the crab and change into a new swimsuit and coverup for the sunset. Soaking wet again thanks to the pup but I think, maybe, the gull is gone. lol Guess I'll have to change again before dinner ;)

I'd love to see the picture. I cannot think of a sparrow sized bird with an orange head off hand. Will have to check my bird books but a pic would help. I hear owls all the time here. Back when I was fit and walking daily I startled a Great Horned Owl one early morning on the walking path across from our street and he flew at my head from the ground and then perched in a tree and stared at me. I guess I kept him from his meal. Pre cell phone so no picture. I watched him for the longest time hoping someone else would come on the path so I could show them but no one did and I finally had to keep going. We also have a couple other owls, one I mostly hear but saw a couple times (Barred) and a tiny one I've on seen once (a pair actually), I think Eastern Screech. Have quite a few hawks around. The other morning the blue jays went all crazy warning all the birds that one of them was in the yard. Used to feed the hummingbirds. Then got out of the habit because I wasn't home to keep it up and those left here didn't want to do it while I was away. Said I would do it this year but I didn't. They are great fun to watch.

Oh we have neighbors behind us too. Small amount of woods separate us and go down to a creek. That part of the woods next to our street that has the creek running through it used to just have one house in it but the man sold up and now they are building 7 or 8. Sigh. It's upset the wildlife, as building always does. The deer eat all of our flowers now, they didn't used to. We get voles displaced from the former field beyond the woods.

Maybe Mother Nature will be kind to us next time she decides rain will be in the forecast. This heat dome that we are under is no joke right now. All I want to do is stay inside in the AC.

Ok, since you changed.. sigh I knew I should've taken screenshots of us for those looking at the thread later in the day. It was fun having a buddy to twin it with like I used to do w/ Skye. 💋 Made a few more summer outfits last night so I'm good w/ changing. I had to look it up some years ago but there was a particular owl I heard when I was camping in the Gorge that scared the ever living F out of me, although by the initial sounds, I was already pretty sure it was an owl to begin with. I believe it might have been a barred owl. I'd have to look up the sounds again.

Love your porch! I have nothing close to that. Mine is incredibly small and since I rent, when I asked to get it extended and would pay for it, it was MUCH cheaper but I couldn't come up w/ the money so now that everything is ridiculous, I have to make a completely separate enclosure for them and make sure they can't get out b/c I refuse to go through that shit again. (Yes, it was Six.) :( Thank you for remembering my precious baby.

Mother nature is objective, just like the universe. Balance is what they consist of. Hopefully you're not in one of those areas where the state will determine rolling blackouts or brownouts through the next couple of seasons.

She is and I do my best to respect her too. I kind of am, we had a blackout a few days ago, but early in the morning instead of during the day. There are other areas where they have rolling blackouts more often.
