thank you. I got my complaint filed and cancelled my future appointments. I had only seen this guy five times. He was an interim councilor while mine was on maternity leave. I am just not getting counciling until it is resolved because his notes would go to my next councilor. I am still very depressed both about it and because that was why I had the appointments. Ugh.

does anyone know how to find out what items are in a specific donation present? when you open one do you get a random item from a prespecified group of items or do you get all items in that group of items?

Cosmic Horror doesn't have to deal with the Cthulhu mythos. Lovecraftian Horror tends to be used interchangeably with the term Cosmic Horror.

Both The Void and The Endless don't deal with the Cthulhu mythos.

Cosmic Horror is one of my favorite sub-genres as it's all about the fear of not knowing. The fact that there are things beyond a human's understanding.

Edit: An adaptation of Color out of Space was released in 2019. The director is a huge fan of Lovecraft. It's really enjoyable and just...wow O.O'

Am in hope that if anyone in our group is in Colorado that they are safe from the destructive fires that have cost so many homes.

Some people really shouldn't be counselors. I'm glad that you do have another counselor you can go to once yours returns from maternity leave. As for the complaint you filed, I hope something gets done about that soon. It sucks to need counseling and not be able to get it. My first counselor shouldn't have been a counselor either. She didn't help me at all. Most of the time in sessions with her were spent in awkward silence because she seemed to expect me to lead everything when I'm not a big talker and really need to be provoked to talk. She also didn't offer any solutions and seemed to expect me to figure it out myself. If I could do that, I wouldn't need her. I just straight up stopped going. Psychiatrists and therapists I've gotten since then have been a lot better.

I don't remember if I've mentioned the joint pain issues I've been having on here before. If not, I've been having bad joint pain lately as a side effect of my medicine. It's gotten so bad now that my doctor prescribed steroids. Just took my first dose. It tastes like cough syrup! Bleh!...I feel fine right now though. Some of the knuckles on my hands hurt a bit, but nothing else does. That's an improvement. o3o/ One takeaway from this though is I hope I never get arthritis, because holy shit, joint pain is hell >.>

- i must admit that, while having read all lovecraft's stories, i don't know anything about cosmic horror as you're describing it. i guess that's because the unknown doesn't frighten me. shrugs i guess i'm just too darned curious. i am going to ad that 2019 movie to my list if i can find it.

- my arm hurt after both of my doses. a cold pack and some ibuprofen helped.i'm glad the rash is going away. any idea what was in the stuff that caused the reaction? we're humkering down and will weather this new rise in infections. i mean, it's got to get better, right?

First shot I got my arm hurt so bad I couldn't move it. Got so bad that I found out all the little body motions that can use arm muscles without you moving your arm xD

The 2019 version of Color out of Space has Nic Cage who just nails the role. I believe the director also has plans to adapt two other Lovecraft films. With what he did with Color out of Space, I have high hopes :)

I guess another reason I like Cosmic Horror is because I love films that really mess with your mind. Cosmic Horror does that without concerning itself too much explaining things. A lot of the good Cosmic Horror I've watched have been indie and/or low budget films since the sub-genre tends to take risks.

The Empty Man (2020) is Cosmic Horror and it just messes with your mind. The film basically centers around the idea that reality is not as solid as we think it is. The film had a troubled release schedule with no production company wanting it (I think) and when it was released it went below the radar. If I didn't watch lists on Youtube about hidden gems I wouldn't have known about itXD

your first councillor sounds bad. Sorry you went through that. That better be some life or death meds that your doctor is okay with you being in so much pain from it. Hugs. Winter is the worst time to contract joint pain. Can you try light physical therapy?

I am doing better. Not fixating as much.

My state has a lot of unvaccinated, but also a low population that is almost majority rural. Just look up Idaho. Yeah. Sigh.

It's not really life or death, but it is the best medicine that currently exists for my condition, and unless I absolutely cannot continue it any longer, I plan to stick with it. They made sure I was aware of all the possible side effects beforehand, which joint pain is among the most common. 75% of people who take it get it. I knew what I was getting into. It doesn't last forever though. It will eventually go away once my body adjusts to the medicine more. It's just a matter of managing the pain and waiting it out.

My arm hurted with every shot of the vaccin now even with the booster. Hot shower, pcm and keeping it calm helps. Rash is gone!

Woke up way too early after not getting to sleep until 2am. Having some coffee and watching the London New Years "parade" on pbs. Not really a parade this year. Mostly just live and recorded performances. Rose Parade is after this. Then Doctor Who premiere. Lots of tv today.
