Yes I saw it. also, I think I hear about someone testing positive a few times a week these days. A lot of my colleagues have family testing positive, some people in my choir as well.

o.o and i thought i had parental issues. at least i had a good step-dad. sorry your mom acted like that but i definitely understand your wariness as my ex-mom is like that. finished battleground. omg. that man knows how to write a series. makes me wonder what his other series are like. i'll probably read his codex series next but hubby got me interview with the vampire so i'm on to ann rice right now.

- the people you're talking about with the positive tests, are they vaccinated or unvaccinated? we have a problem with the unvaccinated right now but the number of break-through infections is rising. i'd really like to know who is responsible for this as they have turned everything upside down.

- you are listening to new hope? that is the first story in the wheel of time series. what chapter did you get stuck on? lan is my favorite character in the whole series. i hope you go on to read the whole, 15 book series. i'd advise you to read it before you see the tv show but it's really up to you how you read it. it's my favorite fantasy series of all time. even beats out tolkien. i found out that there was a wheel of time website that sold merchandise and got a lan hoodie. lol

I think me and Brian bonded over our family issues. We are both the black sheep of our families.

I read the first Codex book as I found it in the library one day. While it's good, it didn't draw me in like the Dresden Files. Though I may re-read/catch up with the series one day.

Too many things to read. Too little time. Plus I like to keep up a healthy writing schedule XD

I think I got stuck because there were many places and names mentioned without any context and I didn't see what they had to do with the story. I admit I still don't know completely, but I suppose it will all unfold itself during the series.

Have you ever read the Realm of the Elderling series by Robin Hobb? I was really impressed with it when I read it four years ago. The books sucked me in to a point where I was reading until 4 in the night for many nights and had way too little sleep.

But I listened to LOTR again a little while back and I must say that I liked those books a lot better than when I first read them in high school. I suppose these things get better as you get more life experience.

I hope you'll feel better soon! Did the doctor say how long this sort of thing usually takes to heal? It's really a coincidence, because my back also hurts, but I think I just strained a muscle.

- my hubby and i are the same, we're both the black sheep in our families too. we subscribe to the notion that blood doesn't make family. actions do.i understand about having too much to read and not enough time to do it. i haven't written anything in over 7 years and really have no way to do so until hubby installs scrivener on this laptop. he keeps telling me he will and yet it never gets done. i think i'm going to look for alternatives or call his bluff by trying to install it myself. lol

- oh, i'm sorry you're not feeling well. sciatica sucks. i hope the medicine helps. you may want to try a epsom salt bath, too. i'm glad you've got a few days off to rest and take care of yourself. :)

- i didn't read new spring until after i'd read the whole series twice. it is chock full of references that you wouldn't understand unless you'd read the entire thing. don't let that discourage you. the series is well worth the read. i did read some of robin hobbs elderling series. i started with the farseer trilogy and read through to the rainwild chronicles. the last book i read was where they had finally found the mythical city of dragons and their caretakers had started turning into elderlings. i stopped there though. the pacing was too slow for me and the author kept trying to instill this feeling of wonder into everything . it just got very boring for me. i may go back and read the fitz and the fool trilogy skipping the last rainwild book . i liked the first set of trilogies so i'm sure i'd like the fourth. sorry if it's your favorite. but i couldn't justify buying it when all it was doing was putting me to sleep. :)

Hope you feel better :(

If I thought family was only blood I'd probably go mad XD

Here's hoping your hubby finally does it. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't write for seven years. I've been writing since I was 10 (?) and the only time I really stopped was when my first boyfriend broke up with me.

Then of course writing while in college is a little more than hectic/impossible.

thanks, no they could not tell me how long it would take to heal. Is for everyone different, as long as i keep moving and not sit still all the time and take my meds i will heal faster. No bad here but a hot shower works great to :)

And fireside is finally starting tomorrow, subeta is slow/late this year with all events, i feel. Hope it will start during my day and not evening...

- we'd be in the looney bin together then XD lol i haven't written in almost 7 years because the illness that took my eyesight scrambled my brain at the same time. i regained my brain functionality slowly and went through a lot of physical, occupational, and speech therapy to get things back toan acceptable level. their level of acceptable, not mine. i've been working on my own ever since trying to get back to close to what i used to be. that's one reason i started posting here. it gives me a venue to work my writing synapses. it's also why i read a lot. hubby may complain about the cost of my books but he never tells me no and most times he buys books without consulting me because he thinks reading them will help me rebuild my brain and help me get back to writing. right now the most difficult thing is composing what i want to say. it takes me many rewrites just to get a forum post right but i don't mind. it's helping, enough that i want to try scrivener again. :D (sorry for the encyclopedia)

- a nice hot shower would help. my physical therapist suggested i should bend down and try to touch my toes when this happened to me. she said to just let your hands dangle above your toes letting your lower back and hips stretch (don't bounce) and then roll your hips and lower back as you straighten up. it helps move the sciatic nerve from where it's being compressed, at least for a little bit. i'm excited for fireside. i'm not sure i should be as morostide disappointed me. perhaps they've fixed the problem and things will work correctely now. i saved a bunch of red rreign items to dump in the bonfire. hope i get some nice goodies. :)

I don't mind the long post. I'm glad that writing these Subeta posts is helping you to get better.

Kindle books tend to be cheaper than physical copies so buying books via that route is helpful. Plus once I'm done with major re-reads and can get back to indie books once again...there are discounts on some of them. Nice to have the first in the series be free or 99C so you can see if the rest of the series is worth it :)

No worries if you didn't like the Robin Hobb books. To each their own. You didn't really stick to the reading order, because at least the Liveship Traders is before the Rainwild Chronicles, so there are some character references you might have missed. I agree that the pacing of the books can be slow, but I don't mind it.

I think I will go on to reading the complete wheel of time series. I read that they were finished off by Brandon Sanderson, which I think is a great author as well.

Are you feeling better after a day of rest? I was hoping for some fireside today, but I guess we'll have to wait until the evening...

well we got our wish in a way started sooner for us at 6pm. Can't wait to get some nice clothes and dress up.

I was feeling fine today and decided not to take my meds. Bad choice... after a few hours it started to hurt and i could not sit in anyway. So took my meds, made a small walk (needed some fresh air) and now they are working and feeling ok. Going to work (try) tomorrow

happy fireside everyone! good thing i'm blind or i'd surely be cross-eyed by now after dumping all my spare pumpkins on fantine and then a bunch of food on charity. of course they make you submit each item one at a time... o.0 got some nice stuff but i swear i have a eyeball headache and i didn't even use them... lol

- i love it when i can get a discount on books. i often troll the audibles freebie section because they routinely put good books in there. got a copy of dracula narrated by tim curry. awesome. i'm wary about new series because sometimes they disappoint. i don't let hubby buy any more than the first books anymore because i've gotten stuck with series that sucked and the money was wasted.

- had hubby change my ha last night and now i'm decked out for fireside. sent you a few things to help your wardrobe. :) i hope work goes smoothly for you and i'm sure your co-workers will help.

- for the longest time i didn't finish the wheel of time series because robert jordan died with it unfinished. i didn't think the "new" author could continue where he left off. finally i just read it and i was so surprised. sanderson pulled it off. i looked up his other books and his stormlight archive is my 2nd favorite fantasy series of all time. i can't get enough of caladin. have you read hismistborn series? what else do you read? have you readstephen ericsson's malazan book of the fallen? it is really good.:)

I bought a YA series that was discounted. And...just...I read it all because I had already bought them. From the reviews on Amazon I guess the whole series is basically really bad Avatar: The Last Airbender fanfiction. I haven't yet watched the show.

I tend to get through bad books because I don't like to give up.

I need to change my HA for fireside.

i just finished sorting through all the stuff i got from those pumpkins and the food i donated to charity. omg. i sorely miss being able to use a mouse . that would have made it so much easier. ugh, then this stupid jolen kept stealing my red rreign offerings. all together this has been the single most frustrating day on subeta.

sometimes i'll tough it out when hubby mistakenly buys me a series of books. i take it as lessons on what not to do. lol

I can't imagine doing Subeta on anything but a desktop. But at least all of that's done with now :)

Yeah, bad books can really tell you why something doesn't work. Not that the experience is pleasant O.O'

I have stared into the abyss...
